WHAT ARE UTERINE FIBROID TUMORS?

Uterine fibroid tumors are benign (noncancerous) growths of the uterus and may also be called myomas, leiomyomas, fibromas, or just fibroids. They arise from the smooth muscle connective tissue that lines the uterus (myometrium) and can grow in any location in and around the uterus. Like other tumors, they have miraculous powers of survival because of their uncanny ability to create their own vascular networks or surreptitiously appropriate those of the uterus or other nearby organs. Some women only develop one fibroid or just a few, while others may have as many as 100 or more. Their size also varies tremendously; some are so small that a microscope is needed to visualize them, while others grow as large as a basketball.


Since not all fibroids cause symptoms, not all fibroids will be diagnosed, which means prevalence rates may be higher than current estimates. However, just because fibroids are common and not always symptomatic, dont let that mislead you into thinking that they cant cause medical mischief. In some cases severe symptoms may develop that require urgent medical attention. The chance that fibroid will turn cancerous is very rare.


WHAT CAUSES FIBROIDS?

Fibroids occur when a single uterine smooth muscle connective tissue cell replicates until a cluster of cells form a mass that is distinct from the normal muscular tissues. Doctors and researchers are still investigating what triggers this disregulated growth; however no one really knows why fibroids develop.


Some possibilities are genetic factors (fibroids tend to run in families) or hormonal causes (fibroid tissue has more estrogen and progesterone receptors than normal uterine tissue and therefore are more sensitive to alteration of these two hormones during the menstrual cycle). Other observed tendencies include the fact that:


Fibroids that do not cause a problem for  the woman can be left untreated. In some cases, even fibroids that are not causing symptoms require removal or at least  close observation. Rapid growth is a reason to watch more carefully, since a  rare cancerous form of fibroid (leiomyosarcoma) is usually  a fast-growing tumor, and it cannot be differentiated from  a benign fibroid by ultrasound or other imaging studies.  Although this particular type of tumor rarely occur, a close observation is highly recommended in order to prevent  possible-future complications.


Another risk of leaving fibroid tumors alone is that they  sometimes grow to a size that eventually cause significant  symptoms and complications. If fibroids grow large to an  extent, it may require that the entire uterus be removed. 


Fibroids are also a major cause of recurrent miscarriages.  If they are not treated/removed in these cases, the woman  may not be able to sustain a pregnancy. Fibroids may also  prevent a woman from conceiving thereby causing a form  of infertility.

To be candid bro, I will advice you not to go ahead with the marriage.

Firstly, the fact that your parent told you not to do so with the stated facts above, I totally agreed with them.....Though it might be difficult for you to accept that now simply because you are already over crowded with her love...

My dear brother, the love you both have now might or in most cases will not be enough to pull through ups and downs in a marriage..... The years of experience of your parents can never be traded for anything. They were there before you, they know what it takes to have a successful marriage, the sacrifice involved and so many other important things about marriage.

They are in the best position to advice you, and which they ve done. Is now left for you to use your discretion and follow the right step but not totally blinded by the love that will fade away after the reality done on you as time goes on in the marriage.

However, a lot of things is not just right in the first place...
1) she is older than you
2) she already had two kids
3) I believe she must have had a strong connection with the father of her children, of which this connected can never be cut off even after you marry her. The question is are you ready to face all the consequences?

Though she already had two kids, how many kids will she give to you? ...........and many other reasons...


In fact, if you sit down and think about the thing very well, I believe you will see yourself that love is not only enough to sustain you in the marriage as well as going against your parent wish...


There are many and more better options out there, just don't settle for less......go for the best bro. Your love is out there beckoning on you.... listen to your heart and go get her....
