Politics › Re: Opposition Lawmakers Stage Walkout As Reps adopt Manual Transmission of results by Burob: 7:25am On Feb 18 |
smartemperor042: I'm loving this discussion and let's still keep it respectful.
1. The illustration you put about Elon Musk and his fears about electronic voting does not apply to us at all. Nigeria has, and practice manual voting system (aside from accreditation which is semi manual) and I'm ok with that completely. No body is debating it.
2. Where the problem starts is after voting, during collation, once the voters has gone. The form EC8A(if i mentioned it right). At times, the Preciding officer is not given the original form. Meaning that the whole process at the polling boot was a jamboree. At times these forms are altered at the collation center. This is no longer an election(what happened in Rivers State Presidential Elections 2023).
3. The demand is that those forms should be sent to the IREV portal after voting and counting have been concluded there at the polling boot. Those forms are not programmatically filled but manually filled and signed without any form of alterations.
4. Another demand is that those forms uploaded right from the piling boots should be used in court as evidence since everyone has it. It should be made justiciable!
5. The big problem is that "Improvisor" embedded in the clause. On no account should it suffice. No matter where the polling boot is, updated results are kept on queue in the BVAS until there's enough network to upload it. After elections, the card readers are returned to the LGA where there's definitely network. This happens before 5hrs max after elections are concluded. Meaning that before WARD collation starts, these results are already on the IREV portal.
Finally, when you admit an improvisor clause, the Nigerian politicians i know will go straight to jettison the original results from the polling units and write their own result by themselves after compromising the collation officers.
I hope I'm able to clear the point now The result sheets are signed by all the party agents & are given a copy, or they can use their phones to take pictures of the result sheets, did anyone in the last general election claim that what was transmitted to the Eyeneck HQ was a different result sheet than the one signed by their party agents? |

There is what is called mutual respect, which the north politically doesn’t have for the South East, Gringory Obi has gone to belittle himself again by going to join his masters in the ADC. I still wonder the evil spirit that possessed that man for him to just leave the LP after they gave him a platform & fought foot & nail for him. The Judas like he did to the Apga & Pdp, just used them for his selfish purposes, packed his small belongings like the littlest hobo, & left the party. |

Politics › Re: Opposition Lawmakers Stage Walkout As Reps adopt Manual Transmission of results by Burob: 5:49pm On Feb 17 |
latiephwald: Oppression is already creeping in at the federal level. With the overwhelming dominance of one political party in the House, minority voices are slowly being pushed aside and silenced. If this continues, the masses including you may soon have no choice but to submit to whatever form of intimidation or control they decide to impose. Read about what happens in a one-party state. When power is concentrated in one place, accountability weakens, opposition fades, and citizens gradually lose their voice. Funny enough my name should tell you I'm also APC member. We should blame the ruling party for the weak opposition today abi, this same the APC that the Pdp was laughing @ in 2013 when it was formed? https://www.nairaland.com/2413126/okupe-mocks-apc-over-crisis |

smartemperor042: Bring it up Bro. No trolling, let's clear each other here!
We're not talking of electronic voting here, we're only asking for the result to be transmitted. To protect the integrity of the result.
If what i said is wrong correct me. We all want a better nation! Quite obviously u are oblivious to what is being discussed? Electronic transmission is allowed, there is a clause that says if for any reason the results cannot be transmitted electronically, the Eyeneck in their discretion can be done manually. The deluded ones say no, if it is not done electronically, then the results should be discarded. |
