What if my field is related to the skill shortage list when applying for tier 2 visa ??

Do lecturers reccomend students to company's for recuitment ??

As for option 4. Can you describe the kind of spouse that one would need to engage himself with to stand a chance of getting marriage approval??

If you can ace a 20 point in English test, you can go for PR. Department of works is related depending on what you did in the department. Engineering geology is still a subset of geology.

Yes but there is a huge difference between civil engineers and engjneering geologists.

Lol. Didn't mean it that way. I meant I would be paying twice of that in Australia just on tuition only. Flinders charges 30k annually which is 9million naira for 2 years. My point is that its not cheaper studying in Australia than in the UK.

Not really .just less than a year internship in a related field and Nysc experience (department of works in a local government).

The truth is that if I can't afford it ..its better I look elsewhere. I have an admission in the UK and I thought Australia would be easier.

Prepare my 5k .the month has ended and no sign from nddc. It will definately end like last year October and many would be forced to look at January programs if they are successful

You can get a decent student accommodation for between $100 - $150/week including utilities. Food is not expensive and you can get concession on transportation with your student ID.

Is it only Flinders that offers hydrology?

Yes.. I only picked the course because it was the cheapest option in geosciences/ environmental area. The fear I have is that my tuition is more than my budget. That's 60k for 2 years or 8 million thereabout and no guaranteed of post study like the UK .can you recommend any other option?

First advice is to look for a uni that would pffer you a 2 year program.... That's how you can proceed to the graduate visa. Another option is to apply for another program after your masters.

Try curtin uni, I think newcastle, uwa, unsw...etc, depending on what option you wNt.

In m opinion, 7 m should be good to start with, but prepare to work when you arrive Au.

Thanks for the response. I think I'll look else where. Most of the courses are 30k annually or 4.6million naira . That's half more than half of my
budget. Then how much do I budget for accommodation + feeding annually?? The remaining 3million naira?? And are you giving me the hope that I can work to meet up with the expenses of the 2Nd year or I request for additional funds after the first year?

As for me I need to be clarified on the possibilities of getting a post study visa after an MSC in Australia with a one year course?

1 . will a budget of 7million naira be enough to cover all expenses + living expenses for a one year masters in geology?

2.what are my chances of switching to a work visa after my studies ?

I was invited for the test on the 5th of may for aptitude test for customer care, passed the test but I was later told that they needed contract staff for the counter. Pls can any body explain to me what this Uba people are up to ?? I have not heard from them since then. Any body in my shoes ??

If you read my previous post, I personally contacted some staffs of both venues they would likely use for the briefing and its unfortunate that they have not made any arrangement for the briefing anytime soon (month end).

To make things worse, the so called budget was rejected and had to be re-adjusted recently that's why things didnt go as planned.the MD is currently in abuja to do the needful.

I am not a prophet but you will hear this kind of news atleast twice before you hear about nddc scholarship. Don't put too much hope on that news, October is around the corner.Lol

Nice work brother, but one thing you have to know is that those consultant do not have any information to when successful scholars would be contacted. Its purely nddc decision at this stage to compile the list and invite the lucky ones ( ignoring the word successful) which should be done this week/next week (wednesday if I must add)as others have stated earlier.

Last year scholars were delayed due to funding / elections.we hope they do the needful on time so that we can all move on with our lives.Good luck.

Visa application time is very close, too much delay and this year won't be feasible again till maybe Sept 2016 intake.

The person who said 6 th of June wasn't bluffing. the briefing would hold atleast 2 weeks after the interview. There's every possibility that nddc would send invites for the briefing this weekend/nextweek.

I'm not interested in knowing the particular date.I just want to make certain that someone else has a similar info on this time frame I know.

If this aoura is not just throwing figures arbitrarily, which I wonder why one shud indulge in such; then he must be an insider.

insider or not one thing is certain that the 6th of June should be enough time estimated for them to compile the list and send out invites for the briefing.

My reason is based on what I was told during the interview that we should expect to hear from them 2 weeks after the interview. They intend to wrap it up by june and Its not going to be like last year.

Lol..OK Madame.. Thanks 4 sharing.mine was 5.2 current affairs and 3 science based questions. But from my knowledge, I don't think the interview was fully based on who answered the 5 questions but attention was also based on credentials and dressing. At this stage, its only God that would help one considering the fact that 2000 candidates are vying for 200+ award letters. best of luck dear.
