Typical Nigerian, once something unfortunate happens, we must blame it on our enemies, rather than admit our carelessness. But seriously T.B. Joshua, needs to get his English coordinated. What's all that parable crap & that u will know APC & know PDP? And a man of God talking of vengeance? Where is the Christ in u?

Grew up in Eric Moore Towers, Surulere, Lagos. NEPA was almost steady and once there was power outage, the standby generator would come on. Loved watching Saturday & Sunday matinees. A loaf was bread was 30k (now N100). Loved walking to and fro to school with my friends (something I am afraid to allow my kids do now). 5pm to 6.45pm was playtime downstairs. "Ten-Ten" and "suwe" were my best games. Played mummy cooking with sand and grass, used tins of tomato were our cooking pots and we would taste the food on our chin. Loved watching "Sesame street" and "Voltron......defender of the universe" every week day. "Tales by moonlight" was a must on Sunday. My best videos were "Sound of music" and "The king & I". My best actress was Julie Andrews and best actor was Slyvester Stallone. In those days when a movie starts you will first ask "who is the actor?". And it was a shock if "the actor" ever died. My best music was "Ain't nobody". Micheal Jackson was still dark & then later burnt his hair and we loved dancing "Thriller". But my best musician was Billy Oceans. Meeeeen those were the days......beautiful memories.

Marriage is hard enough sef for couples in love with each other, not to talk of when one partner feels he or she is forced into it.

Wonderful, wonderful piece. Its really terrible this hate in our land. Not even just among the major tribes but even among communities that are relatively brothers in the same state. I am fortunate to be born Igbo, but was born & bred in Lagos and have lived here all my life. I went to a unity school in the north and still have friends who are northerners even after 20 something years. My best friends r from the minor ethnic groups and I believed with my all rounder cultural orientation, I wild have a generation of children who do not know this hatred. I was shocked a few years back, when my daughter then about 5 or 6 years announced that she hates Yoruba people because they are smelly and dirty. She cold have only picked that up in one place, from her friends who have already been indoctrinated with that hate. Its sad really. I've had to work on that mindset constantly

Please o, doesn't Fayose have a state to run. Since he became governor, I have not heard of a single thing about him and governance in Ekiti state. Hian!!!

Oby na today u begin see all these things abi? Like u were not wining and dining with these people before. Abegiiii jare.
festusfeezy:
The Governor of Ekiti State, Mr. Ayodele Fayose, has congratulated Senator Musiliu Obanikoro on his confirmation as a minister by the Senate while a former Minister of Education, Oby Ezekwesili berated the action of the Upper legislative house, describing them as “shameless lot”.
Fayose took to his Twitter page,@GovAyoFayose, to congratulate Obanikoro.

“Congratulations to @MObanikoro as he is confirmed as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by the National Assembly,” he posted. He also retweet congratulatory messages from his followers on the micro-blogging site.

Meanwhile Dr. Ezekwesili, does not have kind words for the lawmakers, berating them for their action.

“So despite #Ekitigate, our Senate confirmed the morally repugnant nomination of @MObanikoro as a Minister by our President? Shameless lot
The issue of @MObanikoro ‘s nomination&confirmation has no political context for Citizens for it is ENTIRELY about our VALUES as a people
Habitual acts of impunity by our political class IS NOT sustainable. A journey through world History is all they need to help them know so, ” she posted on her Twitter page.

The nomination of Obanikoro by President Goodluck Jonathan, was greeted with protest, especially by Senators from the opposition, All Progressives Congress, following his alleged role in the Ekiti election. The three senators from Lagos state (the state of origin of Obanikoro) also pettitioned the leadership of the Senate, urging for the disqualification of his nomination.

However, the David Mark-led Red Chamber confirmed his nomination, even as APC senators staged a walk-out.

FamilyRe: My Step-father Sneaked Into My Room And Made Love To Me by cacali(f): 9:30pm On Mar 11, 2015
If u were not drunk enough to know that that was ur stepfather, then u were not drunk enough to let that go on. As an undergraduate I want to believe that you are or are above 18 and so that makes u an adult and so you need to take some responsibilities. 1. Don't point accusing fingers at your step dad & go about calling him a maniac. As far as I am concerned u both did wrong and share equally in the blame, u even more because I believe women have greater self control when it comes to these things. No matter how much u had to drink, u wldnt have consented to the act if u urself have not been eyeing the man secretly. 2. Spare ur mother the agony of the betrayal of her daughter and her husband. If you ask me, I think its ur betrayal that will hurt her more, especially as she singlehandedly raised you. 3. Pray for forgiveness, put it in your past, learn from it and move on. If ur step dad tries that again, say an emphatic 'NO' and raise an alarm if u must. I just hope u don't end up being pregnant, because na so these things dey happen.

Dear Bunmi,

I AM an undergraduate in one of the universities and I've recently done something really terrible. My mum was a single mother of two for years until she got married to a nice widower last year. The man has just completed his house, so we all moved in with him along with the three children from his first marriage. We had the house-warming party around Christmas and we all had too much to drink. In the night my step dad came over and we made love.

My head cleared in the morning and I've felt horribly guilty ever since. My step dad now carries on as if nothing happened but I feel really guilty and don't know what to do. I don't want mum to know what happened, yet she needs to be aware of the type of maniac she is married to. Please help.

Augusta,

By e-mail.

Dear Augusta,

This is definitely a tricky situation. Your mum will definitely be hurt if you tell her what has happened. In fact, she may be so bent on defending her new found happiness she might choose to trust her new husband and not you. Your best bet is to have a heart to heart chat with your step dad. Tell him how much you love your mum and how you've both betrayed her trust by sleeping together. Then let him realize you're willing to put the ugly incident behind you if he promises it won't happen again.

Sadly, what you've just experienced is not new though that doesn't make it right. If this man breaks his promise and tries again, then you'll have no option than to tell your mum or confide in a trusted member of the family who can effectively intervene.

I am beautiful, curvy and hairy. Chocolate skinned but it bothers me that I can't get and keep a man of my own.
Yes, I have admirers and stalkers but they don't fit into my picture of an ideal man.
The ideal men I have at my workplace, all they do is to admire and tell themselves " this bae make brain o". But none of them could approach me for a serious relationship because they often think I am taken.

Pls, my beloved #landers, how do I get them to toast me?.
Its kind of frustrating when your are lonely, no passionate calls, no sweet talkings. And u feel u have all it takes but the men ain't just coming
My dear first of all, u must understand that there is no ideal man and no ideal woman. These are just perceptions we have of what a life partner shld be. U said that the men currently interested in u r not ur ideal men, so what makes u so sure that u r the ideal woman for the guys in ur office. Who knows they may be looking for the exact opposite of ur features. Be a little more open minded and don't limit itself to ur office. Who knows ur man maybe waiting for u in the church, ur street, in the market etc. Funny enough he might even be somebody u currently don't like (happened to me). So my candid advice to u is to ask God to put u in the path of that man that he has chosen for u. And really let him do d choosing. All the best dear. To find life partner no easy.

worriedhusband:
Dear Nairalanders,

My heart is very heavy as I write this. I'm a member of this forum but I purposely created this username for this issue as I want to remain anonymous. Im not the type that discuss my problems in the public but what is happening is beyond me and I need your help.

My wife and I got married May 2012 and I was the happiest man on earth on that day. Many prayers were offered concerning our fruitfulness and not in our slightest imagination did we think that we will have problem with having children. As God will have it my wife missed her period the following month and did pregnancy test to confirm and it was positive. Our joy knew no bound. I immediately gave her “holiday” from any form of domestic activities. She immediately registered for ante-natal. She has been attending the ante-natal for about 8 weeks when the doctor decided it was time to do the ultrasound. The ultrasound was done and it was discovered that the fetus was measuring a lesser length than it should measure, 5 weeks or thereabout. Also the heart beat was not seen. The doctor said the pregnancy was not viable.

It was a very sad day for both of us but I managed to console her, we even went to another hospital to confirm but the same result was given. She later went to the hospital for evacuation of the pregnancy.

To cut the story short, we have had four other pregnancies that the fetus did not develop. The fetus will always develop to maximum of 7 weeks and stop developing. She has taken Progesterone injection so many times without any significant result. I’ve researched a little bit and the result I found was recurrent miscarriage. This has been a great concern for us and I'm always afraid whenever wifey is pregnant that the same thing will happen (what should be a thing of joy for us has now become a nightmare).

The pain she goes through at each evacuation is something that brings tears to my eyes and I sometimes wish she is not even pregnant so we will not go through the same cycle.

My fellow Nairalanders, please help us out, any medical advice or other things we can do to overcome this challenge will be appreciated. Please if you have gone through this before or have any information that can help kindly offer it, don’t just read and go on. We belief in our God and we focus on Him as the doer of all things but we need medical or any other advice (nothing fetish) that can help.

We live in the Southwest (Not Lagos).

My wife is now 30 while i'm 34 Years old.
My dear my heart goes out to you. Seeking the gift of a child is one of d hardest things a couple can go thru. I know cos I was there for many years. But turn to God in prayer, with Him nothing is impossible. For my last baby, I was told at 5 weeks, that I would loose the pregnancy. All I did was just hold on to God. I had a team of 3 gynaes on my case and they all told me that the development of my child was a miracle. During ante-natal none of them could hear the baby's heartbeat, but I always felt her movement. At exactly 36 weeks I had a CS and my baby was born, hail & hearty.

Please also let or wife's body heal properly. For me I think 5 pregnancies in 2.5 years is not going to be easy on her. Just continue to pray, trust God and see a good gynaecologist. Is your wife on any injections once she is pregnant? I remember my doc started mine at 5 weeks till I was 3 months and it was every week. God grant or hearts' desire.
