The disciple is the one that has submitted to follow and learn from Jesus Christ in other to become like Him in all things. What really make one a member of body of Christ? Study (Act 15:7-12).
This matter needs to be considered by all; believer and unbeliever. For believer to ascertain his or her belief while unbeliever to see need to become a genuine member of Christ body.
The response of Peter in Act 15 verse 7-12 was to the dispute raised in verses 1&5 by certain men from Judea and some Pharisees who believed that "Unless you are circumcised according to the custom of Moses you cannot be saved."
This I had seen and heard of many denomination saying unless you accept our denomination custom you cannot be saved or your salvation is not genuine. The truth is that if the laws and custom of Moses was acceptable for man salvation, God will not send His son to the world for the same purpose again. Let me say that any custom that is not of the wholesome teaching of Jesus the Christ is an adultration and cannot make anyone a genuine member of body of Christ.
Now to the revealed steps or stages of experience that true believer must have;
(1) -hearing the word of the gospel, that is the gospel which is the goodnews of what Jesus Christ as done for man salvation from sin, self (flesh) and satan.
(2) -believing; when you believe in the genuine gospel as the only way God has made for your salvation, you becoming a member gradually.
Then in verse 8;
(3) -God must acknowlegde the two steps above by giving you the Holy Spirit as a sealed, to confirm and accredit your membership.
Next in verse 9;
(4) -God then purifying your hearts by faith that you accepted and professed in the gospel of Christ Jesus and He put no distinction between the preacher and you; no denomination wall, barrier nor pertition. Hallelujah!
In verse 11;
(5) -knows that through the GRACE of the LORD JESUS CHRIST are you saved and shall be saved. {Ephesians 2:8» For by the grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God}
Back to verse 10;
My brethren do not put any yoke on anyone than that of Christ which is easy and I beseech you not to accept any yoke nor burden apart from that of Christ Jesus which is easy and light.
Now believer cross examine how you become member of Christ body did you experience the highlighted steps? Go and do that is approprate.
