NNVanguard:
*We Need Youths In Government, We Are Tired Of Old Men*

There is need to bring youths who can drive innovation and annex the power of ICT into the present administration. The old men and women in control of the ship of this great country have not much to offer. Most of them are cut off from the realities of the 21st century where technology is driving change and economic development.

We believe we need young guys in the tech industry to be in the helm of affairs in the ICT ministry. I don't know the reason why someone like Gbenga Sesan of PIN, Opeyemi Awoyemi of Jobberman, Stephen Akintayo of Gtext Media, Ope Banwo of Afrinet Solutions, Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata Jnr of Tech Trend cannot be minister of ICT with all the results they have achieved in the tech industry.

Kenya is getting it right in their ICT industry. The minister in charge is in his 40s and have been in tech industry for some times with a lot of achievements to show for his commitment to that industry.

Nigeria youths we need to wake up and take our destinies into our hands. We can't continue to mortgage our future because we are afraid of voicing out what we know is right for our future. The world is changing and the drivers of this change are youths.

Information and communication technology can transform every sector of the country especially the education sector which is heading towards total collapse because of corruption, bureaucracy, lack of facilities and infrastructures.

The first person Mark Zuckerberg met when he visited Kenya was their Minister of ICT because he knew they have something in common and he is someone they can share ideas together on ICT but the reverse was the case when he visited Nigeria. The first place he went was CC Hub in Yaba where he met likes mind and those who are passionate about what he is doing.

Everything about our country shouldn't be politicized, we need to bring in common sense sometimes. It will be common sense if we have someone who knows about ICT and with proven results heading the ministry of ICT. It will make a lot of sense, it will position us for better investment and all around development. Lets think about it. We need youths in politics, we are tired of old men.

Ok
Meanwhile children in the IDP camps are suffering from severe acute malnutrition which has killed quite a number of them.

For the benefit of those who may not know, acute malnutrition is totally different from hunger.

A child may be eating three times a day, but if all he/she eats is garri, garri, garri, bread,bread,bread,rice,rice,rice...

,... No meat, no fish, no egg, no milk, no fruits, no beans, no oil, no groundnut, no abundant water supply, then malnutrition will set in, as in kwashiorkor, they will die of Malnutrition...because the body of a child needs vital nutrients to fight diseases.

So far, all that Aisha, Dangote and other rich men have continued to supply is trailer loads of rice.

I am aware Aisha went to USA to solicit for emergency supply of supplementary vitamins, but more could be done to produce same in Nigeria as we have abundant supply of locally produced fruits wasting away in most villages. All we need to do is dry them, mix them, add fish oil and encapsulate them.

Unfortunately, our govt. is not ready to look inward. It showed ever since the president started junketeering. As you can see, it all was a waste of funds. Not even China will help.

A country that wants to grow, looks inwards.

Politics / Re: Finally PDP Shuts Down Twitter Handle@PDPnigeria ( See Last Messages) by CACAWA(m): 6:21pm On Sep 06, 2016
lol

PDP is a dead party, factions inside a faction, just like boko haram.

Let me tell you the truth, APC may have disappointed all of us, but going back to PDP is like committing suicide.

Majority of Nigerians are wiser now.

All the problems PDP is facing is not ordinary, the curses they have garnered all these years are just doing press-up.

I see a new Nigeria in the horizon, it is not PDP, it is not APC neither is it KOWA or any other un-serious group of old politicians.

The Nigerian youths will soon awaken and return to the good days...what are the good days?

Those were the days when LEADERS were READERS, now are the days when LEADERS are BIDDERS. Even our lives are now on AUCTION leaving the poor without an OPTION.

When will our youths arise in ACTION?

When will your PASSION begin to FUNCTION?

I'm ASKING and still AS KEEN ... everyone is BLINKING, everyone is THINKING,
but no one is ready to give me the ANSWER...all spreading silence, as if it's CANCER.

I agree MAJORITY must have their WAY, but I insist MINORITY must have their SAY,
at the end, POSTERITY will have its DAY.

Even though it’s KNOWN that we ain't FORWARD, let it be SHOWN that we ain't COWARDS.
If I LEAVE you with my WORDS of PEACE, I BELIEVE you’d sheath your SWORDS with EASE.

SILENCE

Lol the guy is far away in Cambodia, and some people whose lives whose lives will be at stake when a full blown secession war breaks out are here supporting him.

One thing I know for sure is that Nigeria will never ever be divided. The worst that will happen is we will restructure and give full resource control to regions in the long run.

Politics / Re: "Muhammadu Buhari Way", Kebbi, Bagudu Names A Street After Buhari (photos) by CACAWA(m): 3:06pm On Aug 27, 2016
I have lost faith in Buhari's administration, but I am more frightened by thoughts of who the next president will be. Indeed, sincerity is gone for good... Are we in trouble?

When a government that wants to strengthen the Naira continues as the largest importer of brand new cars even when we have an indigenous car assembly plant, then you know we are in trouble.

When a president decides to be commuting from AsoRock to Abuja Airport in an helicopter, then you know we are in trouble.

When a President decides to chose which corruption to tackle and which one to forgive, then you know we are in trouble.

When a president, along with his family enjoy medical tourism and vacations, but refuses ordinary citizens the RIGHT to spend their own hard earned monies in foreign countries for urgent needs, then you know we are in trouble.

When a government prefers to provide far greater military protection for the cows of herdsmen up north, than for the victims of herdsmen down south, then you know we are in trouble.

When they tell you to suffer for 4 years before complaining, because PDP destroyed the country for 16 years, while they continue to enjoy their "security votes", "zonal intervention" and kickbacks in the form of donation to their wives' foundations, then you know we are in trouble.

When a government of change is mainly made up of fmr Governors, fmr Senators, fmr Ministers and Rtd Military Chiefs, then you know we are in trouble.

But most disturbing of all....wait for it...
When they have all strategically positioned their billionaire sons and daughters to continue in power for centuries to come, while impoverishing us so that we are happy to continue selling our votes for 3 cups of rice and 2 tomatoes, then you know that we are finished.
But that is where God takes it from...and not even 100% pilgrimage subsidy will save them.

Good choice then.

We need honest people in government but I don't see that happening soonest.

I only advice you based on the technical reality of the political climate in Nigeria.

don't lose hope because amidst all these is a silent movement to mobilise and reorientate the nigerian youths. With the right ideals and capacity to define a new Nigeria, the future is bright.
