Christianity EtcRe: Pastors With Big Rings by cacius(op): 10:44pm On Dec 15, 2013
I have been attending this church for like 3 weeks now because I am visiting the city for some time. This man of God is really nice and humble but today I was shocked to see him wear this big ring on his right finger and I was alert in my spirit. I have been involved in the church and helping with the evangelism team but when I saw the ring today I felt discouraged. I do not know if I should stop attending service there or not.

Christianity EtcPastors With Big Rings by cacius(op): 5:57pm On Dec 15, 2013
Hi everyone, sorry if this issue had been address before on this forum but I noticed some Men of God wear this big rings on their finger sometimes on their right hands and I was wondering why. I asked some pastors and I got some not too convincing answers. Some people said it is given to those who attained PHD in school of theology and others says its a back up power pack if you know what I mean. I will like to get the opinion of nairalanders what do you think such rings stand for? The bible says we should test all spirits. Let's enlighten each other on this issue. Please let it be known that I am not here to judge any body.

Dude, this is exactly what I constantly dream.God! It recently started getting me worried. Called a pastor 3 hrs ago to explain and he said we'd talk about it tonight. I also see primary n high school class mates

How amazing the spirit works! Just when this is getting me worried, I come on this site that I said never to visit, only to find someone going through same.Obviously, God is sending help.
My broda. That is the spirit of backwardness. When ever you have such dreams you must stand up and reject it. When you keep dreaming of your old schools or old school mates still wearing school uniforms or when you dream of an old house where you grew up as a kid or teenager is the spirit of backwardness. Please you have to pray violently against it. Things might be good now and you wave it off carelessly don't be surprised when things start going very wrong in d future. Check your life presently are you where u are suppose to be right now? Are things falling in the right places for you? You need to take time out to pray and fast and cancel such dreams.

Nairaland GeneralRe: Comet ISON Expected To Impact The Sun On 28 November 2013 by cacius: 1:03pm On Nov 22, 2013
Mamid: It does think about an exploding sun... Terrible! Just saying
Comet ISON presents no danger at all to life on Earth. Absolutely none. There is not even the most minute chance that it could collide with our planet (anyone who says otherwise is completely misinformed- note I have toned my language here down after some justified criticism). It will pass about 0.42 AU (63 million km) from Earth on 26 December 2013. I cannot believe anyone really thinks this is a near miss. Earth will pass close to the comet’s dust trail on 16 January 2014 and some have said we may just be lucky to observe a meteor shower that night.  However this is fantastically unlikely and almost certainly will not happen.

Those names are really strange to my ears. It must be in the heart of Ibadan. Such parties don't take place in Bodija Alabogosa or Oluyole estate. They should ban those carnivals. Lagos will soon start their own and you will see miscreants harassing innocent people disturbing people with their music all night long.

I am very sure you don't know the difference between a cub and a matured lioness. It's because of people like I posted the picture of a cub along side that of the lioness.

That was what led to my stumbling on my main post. I saw a pix of a lady and a lion, side by side, and I was like, "What's the trickhuh"
I still haven't found the trick though but I hey! I stumbled on the write-up haha
I am sure those lions weren't hungry. Do click on the 2nd link I provided in the main post.

Fulaman198: Self-deceit is nice, are you Oyibo? In America they say bears are harmless, then these same people eventually get eaten by these friendly bears.
is not a matter of self deceit I don't have to be oyibo to do what I want to do. That's the problem with the black man mentality always afraid to explore their environment. I am an adrenaline junkie and I do things to satisfy self not anybody. I guess u will never try bungee jump or even sky diving. I love vacations and when I do I let lose myself like a child and enjoy the moment because I work hard and I play hard also. Try something unusual it might help get u outa ur shell.

Hbuyosh: Dude, let's talk about the lions livin in the wild, not the tamed ones. Would ya dare that with them?
I guess u won't even dare go close to a month old cub. Wild or no wild lions are wild animal and anything can happen.
Science/TechnologyRe: How To Survive A Lion Attack by cacius: 9:38pm On Nov 04, 2013
I am an animal lover and I love adventures too. On my first safari trip in South Africa I went to a place called lion park in Rustenberg. Is a very big place with lions every where they have the oldest males about 2 of them in one big enclosure and some wild looking lioness in another big field about 8 of them then they have some 14 months old in another place those were the friendly ones. I saw some white couples stroking their heads and I summon courage and entered the cage to play with them. I have pictures to prove it. Lions are very nice and warm animals try not to be scared when u are meet one. Here are the pics.
TravelRe: I Am A U.S. Consular Officer: Ask Me Your Visa Questions. by cacius: 11:36pm On Nov 03, 2013
Hello VO, for a K1 applicant is it only the ds-160 that needs to be filled by the beneficiary or there are other forms? How about the petitioner is it only the I 134 s/he will fill? We have received our NOA2 like 2 weeks ago but no case number yet from NVC but we just want to get the forms filled. I also lost my previous passport so the passport number I used in filling the biometrics at the beginning of the application is different from what I use for the ds 160. I hope that won't be an issue? The passport details are the same with the old one but different numbers.
TravelRe: I Am A U.S. Consular Officer: Ask Me Your Visa Questions. by cacius: 8:36am On Oct 30, 2013
VisaOfficer: I'm not sure how things work from the NVC side or how long it takes to get a case number. Once your K1 petition has been approved by DHS, NVC will notify you that your petition is on its way to post. At that point, you should download and complete the Interview Preparatory Packet available at http://nigeria.usembassy.gov/immigrant_visa_forms.html . Also, the U.S. Consulate General in Lagos will contact you when your petition has arrived at post so that you may schedule your appointment.

The Immigrant Visa Unit will be open to the public on Dec. 23, closed Dec. 24-27 (Christmas Eve, Christmas, Boxing Day, last Friday of the month), open on Dec. 30, and 31, closed Jan. 1, then back to business as usual.
Morning VO. Thank you for the information and your response. My next question is if a petitioner mistakenly submitted his/her original documents during the I 129F application like a citizen certificate I hope the beneficiary can demand it back after the interview on her behalf? Is there any other way to go about it? She thought she was suppose to submit the original copies not a photo copy. Please advice.
TravelRe: I Am A U.S. Consular Officer: Ask Me Your Visa Questions. by cacius: 9:41am On Oct 29, 2013
Good Morning VO. I want to find out how long does it takes to get a case number from NVC after you have been approved for a K1. I heard somewhere that you have to call NVC to get your case number if you don't hear from them after 2 weeks of approval. Concerning the forms is the ds 160 the only form to be filled by the beneficiary or there are others? Does embassy send out packet 3 via post or email? My last question is when does the embassy close for the Christmas holiday in Nigeria and when do they re open? Hope to read from you. Thanks.

Ilekokonit: If Fela were to be in hell, then a lot of the "so called" Nigerian Pastors will be in the hottest part of hell for neglecting to say the truth to our corrupt politicians and often times partaking of looted funds for their lavish lifestyle and still ripping off their long suffering and poor church members of their widows mite.

Fela with his dogged fight against Nigeria's Kleptomaniac Lootocrats that landed him in jail to be physically brutalised and his house being burnt down and his Mum (also a freedom fighter) thrown down from a first floor window and killed by Obasanjo's unknown soldier who also raped some of his wives and hospitalised him with their severe beatings all because he refused to keep quiet but CHOSE to fight for the Nigerian masses against the Corrupt Military, Politicians and so called Nigerian Big Men all point to the fact that it is not Fela that is a candidate for hell but the silent Pastor's in Nigeria who by their silence and at times outright encouragement of the Lootocracy in Government circles are accomplices to the terror of hunger and poverty that is unleashed on millions of Nigerians daily.

Fela had a conscience that is lacking in todays Nigerian Pastors which makes who the candidate for hell huh

Some of the songs Fela sang to fight for ALL of us

1977 No Agreement
1977 Sorrow, Tears, and Blood
1978 Shuffering and Shmiling
1979 Unknown Soldier
1979 V.I.P. (Vagabonds in Power) Live in Berlin
1980 Coffin for Head of State
1980 I.T.T. (International Thief Thief)
1980 Authority Stealing
1981 Original Suffer-Head
1985 Army Arrangement
1986 Teacher Don't Teach Me Nonsense
1989 Beasts of No Nation
1989 O.D.O.O. (Overtake Don Overtake Overtake)
1992 U.S. (Underground System)

I want to tell my brothers one bitter truth
I want to knock some truth right inside your heads
Before we all we have to Jefa Head o o (Before we can enjoy Nigeria's wealth)
We must be ready to fight for am o o
Suffer head must go o o o o
Jefa Head must come (we must enjoy Nigeria's wealth)

Dem go call us non-aligned nations.
We must to dey craze for head to dey sleep under bridge

If they will allow me to click like one million times I will click your post a million times. Thanks for bringing out memories of the great Ebami Eda. He was truly a freedom fighter. I am so surprised that you remembered the album titles and the years too. Fela should be remembered by the masses cos he was a true advocate against corruption. R.I.P Fela .

westcodes: I'm not 100% sure about the peculiarity of your case, where did you seek advice and you were told you can travel with your receipt? To my best knowledge, you are supposed to wait till you get your permit before you can leave the country. As regards the police clearance, you can get it from Nigeria, the stress will be double but it's doable. (Speaking from experience)

Hopefully you have friends in SA that can help you, here is what you have to do. Go to Alagbon and have your fingerprints taken, make sure you explain to them extensively that you plan to send the fingerprints to SA to obtain police clearance. When that is done, go the website of the south african foreign affairs and diwnload the police clearance application form. Fill the form and write a cover letter and send the everything to your friend in SA along with R100. Police clearance cost R59 to be paid in a bank draft so that rest of the money should cover the bank draft. If your friend lives in PTA, he can submit in your behalf (the office to submit is at schoeman in PTA, google can help with that) it takes about 28 days for the certificate to be issued. Your friend can pick it up and send it to you. I'm sending this from my phone so it might not be as concise but that's the blueprint. Best of lucks
. Hello Westcodes. Thank you for explaining to me in details how to go about getting my police certificate from Nigeria. I will be getting the finger prints in Ibadan since I am here presently. I just need a little clarity from you. I tried to call the criminal record office in SA in charge of police certificate but I was put on hold for too long. I wanted to know where to download that SA form you were talking about. I tried to google it but couldn't find it. Do I need to fill any form also with Nigeria police that I will send to them or is just d finger print paper I will send? A police man told me at the state police headquarters in Ibadan that the finger print is the normal ink pad thing because I thought there is a special kind of paper for that. Plz a friend is traveling to SA this weekend kindly respond to my post today if you get it. I have been trying to get intouch with u to know more about this. Thanks.

nokingasgod: Every day it amazes me how Nigerians of Nairaland evolved. They are pathologically bigotic, ignorant, uncouth, crude, biased, short-sighted and ill-informed. If these are true representative of average Nigerians, then there is no hope for the Nigerian project.

I am not a fan of FFK and neither am I a hater, I would rather we appraised his message and not his personality because you don't throw the baby with the bath. The incessant air mishaps in recent times is more than enough reason for the minister of aviation to have been sacked. In civilized environment she would have voluntarily resigned because as far as aviation is concerned in Nigeria, the bucks stopped on her table. And as if to give credence to FFK's comments, the minister came out not only to further demonstrate her insensitivity and naivety but to also insult Nigerians using languages most unbecoming of her position.

Rather than the ''crucify him'' song on FFK, think we should critically looked into some of the assertions he made in that essay and see how the insights could be useful in preventing future air crashes. That does not make FFK a saint who could not be reproached when necessary.

We should not allow our hatred for a personality to becloud our senses of reasoning, judgment and decision.
May God increase your wisdom and knowledge dear poster. I thought I was the only person that saw sense in what FFK said. In more civilized countries journalists and concerned citizens will criticized the minister thereby leading to her being sacked or resigned as the case maybe but nothing was said about it and life goes on like nothing happened and all she could say was that it is d act of God blaming her incompetence on the act of God without any remorse what's so ever. Relieved that woman of her duties or else similar thing will happen. What stop from carrying out inspections and certification on the planes even after the Dana crash?
PoliticsRe: Stella Oduah To Fani-kayode: Bow Your Head In Shame by cacius: 10:50am On Oct 09, 2013
tomakint: But this Jonathan government is damn too tolerant I wonder how a social miscreant as Fani Kayode is fond of opening his mouth like somebody suffering from diarrhea of the mouth undecided the question now is, "Must he talk when it's not really necessary"?
Have you heard of a thing called freedom of speech? I know he talks to much but he is saying the truth just that he does not know how to express himself without raising eye brows. Left for me the Minister should resign or be replaced. If it were to be a more developed country she will resign how can we have so many air mishaps in a short period of time and she is still clinging to power. We are not talking about renovating airports because airports don't kill people but planes that are not air worthy does. So she should either sit up give way to a more competent person. I have already made up my mind not to fly within Nigeria with these disturbing news all over.
