ogb5: One critical piece of information was that when shagari was told that buhari was plotting a coup against his government, shagari waved it aside claiming that he knows the coup plotters and does not know the politician that will otherwise succeed him if the coup is stopped.
By that statement, shagari preferred a fellow northerner to overthrow is government than for him to hand over to Ekweme his vice from the southeast after his tenure.
Nigerians will need to watch buhari closely as we get close to 2023 when he is expected to hand over to a southerner. We don't want a fg sanctioned coup just to prevent a southerner from being President. hmmm, this is serious.... |

Sanusi's emirate would kick and few years down the line if Ganduje's successor dare revert to the traditional status, the newly enthroned emirates would kick. I fear for kano.
-Lion honestly.... This is the price for reelcting a corrupt governor......... This hind of shii would not happen in the south, in fact the people would revolt.. |

AdolfHitlerxXx:
I am sorry to say this, but the rich gal's family likely got away with framing the luggage handlers.
Comparing the cost of Cocaine vs Tramadol is the first indicator.
The 2nd is ... the Family's influence and speed she was extracted. If you get in trouble even when 100% innocent and expect Nigerian FG to bail out, your bones would be dust before that happens.
The girl's family is so influential that they were able to pressurize the FG into bringing the matter up when discussing a business deal with Saudi.
Saudi of course would be "reasonable" so as not to jeopardize 100s of millions of dollars on the line.
Case in point - Jamal Khasoggi. The US looked the other way. What's his life compared to billions of dollars Saudi gives annually?.
Tramadol vs Cocaine comparison is as stupid as saying someone tried to steal a stainless steel cup when there was diamond or platinum available. i get your point bro....... This probes what i have been saying, northern children commit crime far more than the south or west but because they are more influential they get away with it 90% of the time.... |

ogbonti: It was believed Gowon got wind of a coup is in the pipeline before he left Nigeria for the OAU Summit. His kinsman Col. Joseph Nanven Garba (Joe Garba) was the Commander, Brigade of Guards then. When Gowon was about to enter the presidential jet going to Kampala, the last words he said was to Garba at the Airport
"He said, Joe, I am not accusing you of working with others to topple my government, but please If that is the case, ensure there is no blood shed"
Garba replied, nothing like that Sir, everyone to my knowledge is loyal to you including my humble self. They shook hands and he left for Kampala.
