The car covered 121km on 10 Nigerian litres. I think it's fair enough. Tuning will commence fully. I have drained the oil and used 5W-30. I will change the front passenger tire to rhyme with the driver's side. Go for wheel balancing and alignment to monitor handling and fuel consumption, then scan the car. Thanks Baba, well done. Kindly share pictures for the recent change you made to this your mazda. |

AgentSpoon: Hello Mr. Dru I recently got this type of civic 2003 last month, drove fine and fuel economy is fanstastic. However, this week it started stalling and CEL popped up, scanned and got P0336 crankshaft sensor error, my mechanic replaced with toks crankshaft sensor produced by Denso which also failed after like 2 days of usage.car would stall, you restart, car will go a few distance and stall again. Pls do you have any sure plug of getting confirm toks OEM crankshaft sensor for the car?? thanks in anticipation of your response. It is very unlikely to be sensor issue but mechanical related problem from internal engine part. Consider to investigate further. Even that sensor can subject to test physically outside engine to determine if it is bad. |

flootintin: Please I need to change the shift solenoid B on Honda Accord 2009. I have been to oyingbo, tried a couple of replacement but after a test drive, code returns. Please help. For you to conclude to change solenoid, it means you have conclude that is the faulty part that need to change. Let me tell you that you need to be sure that the problem is mechanical ( hydraulic ) or electrical in nature. In your case, check that solenoid is working okay ( both removed and new install solenoid ). Also ensure no problem along the wire. Try to check the hydraulic path the solenoid is working with in the transmission.
Am now asking you, where is the problem reside? Note, if you replace any part with good part and it is not what is causing the problem, then the code or problem will remain. |

Now I'm stuck with P0141 P1157 And it's still on open loop What's the way forward? Thanks Provided there is NO wire damage, then change the upstream oxygen sensor. |

freeman500: Thanks for your response. I think I will look for the exact 07 Accord sensor. I'll test with hot and cold water. I'll give you feedback. Just curious..... Without the coolant temperature sensor 2, is the car supposed to be in constant open loop? Mind you when I scan (engine off) I get only one code p2185. But once I start the car I get additional p0141 P1157 Just curious..... Without the coolant temperature sensor 2, is the car supposed to be in constant open loop? YES
Mind you when I scan (engine off) I get only one code p2185. But once I start the car I get additional p0141 P1157 Both are related to Oxygen sensor. Which will also affect vehicle operations |
Car Talk › Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by calculation(m): 2:21pm On Apr 26 |
freeman500: Good day guys. I have a Honda Accord 07 with stubborn code P2185. I noticed the previous owner changed the radiator to a type that doesn't have coolant sensor. I opened one of the lock nuts at the bottom and installed a sensor. But if I erase the code, it comes back immediately. I checked the voltage coming to the sensor, the positive is 5v but the negative doesn't read in continuity with the cars negative. Note: The sensor I bought I think belongs to a Honda Odyssey, must it be Accord sensor b4 it will work? Any ideas? Let me say you are work in the area that affect the car, but your approach affect you.
Concerning the Odyssey sensor used, find out if the odyssey use K24 engine or J35 engine. If it K24, am expecting it to work. The sensor is two wire as follows: 1) Yellow/ Red wire-- sensor input ie 5V 2) Green/Black wire---sensor ground ie return voltage to ECU
Now measure resistance of sensor with multimeter at various temperatures to determine if sensor state is good. See expected reading of that type of sensor as follows Approximate Resistance Values: Honda ECT thermistor resistance range; 20kΩ @ -20°C (-4°F) 0.1kΩ @ 120°C (248°F)
Now to check your voltage measurement when sensor is install and connection is correct, it will varies between 0.5v to 4.5v based on temperature of sensor. Measurement is between chasis ground and green / black wire.
The ECM expects a voltage that corresponds to these resistance values; an open circuit or high voltage (e.g., 5V) indicates a faulty sensor or wiring. |

As regards the matrix you saw, I will be interested, kindly share details of model year and price. Please I don’t want a car more than two years used in the country. It also has to be accident free…. Thanks I later check the one in my area, It doesn't meet up your requirements plus it is not okay when closer to it.
