Hello, please, my VW Golf 4, Mode 2007 with VIN: 9BWEL2IJ374010871, has a gear problem. It is not able to be select/transmit properly with ppor acelaration, and the initial scan pointed to solenoid problems, which was changed, but the problem persisted.
I changed to a new Belgium gearbox twice, yet the same selenoid problem persisted at each attempt.
Further assessment by an electrician revealed it might be a gear brainbox problem. I have been faced with the challenge of getting a brainbox that will match the car/gearbox. Each brainbox tasted so far revealed different selenoids, 3, 4, and 7 open circuits when scanned. For example, the last brainbox used showed selenoid 7 open-circuit.
My original brainbox part number is 01 M927 733 MR.
Kindly help me with the brainbox code to match the new Belgium gearbox.

No it didn't deface it (it did a little ), actually, they made provision for it. We tested it by stressing the transmission for about an hour but it didn't come up. I haven't thought about using fans, it could be an overkill though

This post is for those who have DIY scanners and want to check the performance of their vehicles Oxygen sensors and how to Identify the Symptoms of it's malfunction or performance issues.

Oxygen sensor is crucial for emission regulation and engine efficiency. This device monitors oxygen levels in exhaust gases, helping to adjust the air-fuel mixture for optimal engine operation.

Oxygen sensor before catalyst:
Also known as the primary sensor or topwater, it’s located in the exhaust manifold, before the catalyst. Its function is to measure oxygen content immediately upon exiting the engine, influencing the mix of air and fuel.

Operation:
Oxygen sensors use a zirconium dioxide element that generates volts depending on the difference in oxygen between exhaust gases and outdoor air.

Voltage Range:
Oscillation between 0.1V and 0.9V. A low voltage (0.1V) indicates a poor mixture (excess oxygen), while a high (0.9V) suggests a rich mixture (less oxygen).

Oscillation:
The signal must oscillate several times per second. A low frequency could be an indicator of wear and tear or the presence of contaminants.

Rear catalyst oxygen sensor:
This sensor, also called downstream or secondary, is located behind the catalyst. Their primary task is to monitor the efficiency of the catalyst, comparing oxygen levels before and after the catalytic conversion. It operates in a similar way to the primary sensor, generating a voltage based on the oxygen level.

Voltage Range:
It is more stable, usually around 0.45V when the catalyst is working properly.

Signal comparison: If the signals of this sensor match those of the previous sensor, it may mean a failure in the catalyst, which activates the Check Engine light.

lol I get you. But I did, I left abuja couple of minutes past 6am, got to Otukpo by 10am and got to enugu (nsukka) by 12pm, that's 6 hours, I only averaged 150kmph. Even with the transmission temp high message I got on the way which usually made me to slow down below 120kmph, I still go there on time. We later found out that the transmission issue was due to the upgraded front bumper which had no breathing space for the transmission cooler radiator, I have forced open a breathing space in the front bumper now
