I played that final against you but can't remember if the fixtures went well all the way or not but if you say they did.... I believe you, GW36 will soon be upon us. Wahala do dey too much for this season FA Cup sef. tshabalala: There's no special settings anywhere, I'm very sure I had opponents assigned to my team for the whole 38 GW last season that I won the Carling Cup. |

The poll is already up. Tomorrow we will know how to proceed, any decision sef is okay by me as long as Emaprince and iamoyindamola will be here for me to pick on next season TheStrongest: I totally understand you.. But this season’s setup is gonna make that work again.. That’s why I suggested a poll. We all vote for how we want to move forward this season. We’ve all built our strategy around the top 8, but it’s time to pivot.

He actually has a point. If you have been following the thread discussions, my entire strategy is set up to peak around GW36-38 which means I have been taking a lot of trade-offs (e.g, not attacking the Nairaland League top spot as much as I would have done absent the thought of being competitive in the anticipated playoffs at the end of the season). TheStrongest: Why not play to be first? Does this make sense that you finished top of the league and lose the trophy to number 8 position? This game is not all about strategy, luck also plays its part.. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2025/2026 by Calibrator: 5:28pm On Feb 15 |
But the person who created this season FA Cup already admitted to an oversight in adding the playoffs option that is why the fixtures run till GW38. Fixtures always turn up blank from GW36 upwards for H2H Leagues with playoffs activated so that option is not apparently available for this season FA Cup. I just want to know the general consensus tomorrow so I can know whether to adjust strategy or stick to current end of the season plan. tshabalala: In the absence of any human error or special settings, all H2H leagues, regardless of whether playoffs are enabled or not, have fixtures scheduled until the final Gameweek (GW38). After qualification (GW35), draws are made and the top eight teams proceed to the quarter-finals.
The above was based on my observation in the Nairaland Carling Cup last season. |

What do you know that we don't? Kindly tell us now. Before I change strategy and find myself in the playoffs chip less and vulnerable for my enemies to mock me. tshabalala: Stop stressing yourselves because there will be playoffs since it h2h league.
I'm 100% confident about it. |

Two votes. Playoffs should be included next year but we conclude this season as it is. At least we all started with 0pts, so whoever is top by GW38 is a worthy winner.... More worthy than 8th winning the whole thing via playoffs in my own opinion sef TheStrongest: It doesn't make much sense tho.. Let's finish the league as is, then next season we do the playoffs or vote to keep the playoffs.
But then, I'm only one vote. You can create a poll and let majority decide what we should do this season. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Nairaland Fantasy Premier League 2025/2026 by Calibrator: 6:59am On Feb 15 |
Iamoyindamola I don't think creating a new mini playoff league is a good idea.
Let the season run its natural course, who stands number one at GW38 should be declared the winner.
For posterity sake... We shouldn't have a different winner in the GW38 FA Cup and the playoffs.
Next season we can revert back to default playoffs settings. Just a suggestion ooo. |

No malice intended. I thought na my new opp (thou who shall not be named) be the creator of this season FA Cup. Nevertheless I will manage to win the FA Cup like that, just 9pts off top spot. Time to deploy nuclear chips sod09: Have seen where the mistake is from, I was supposed to pick knockout and 3. I will create a mini league in MD6 and share with the top 8 Apologies to everyone for the inconvenience

Na true ooo. This season is as a classic H2H without playoffs. Thank you for bringing this to my attention. My end of season strategy needs revamp laddis The mf admin didn't set it up as playoffs to decide the winner as usual. @iamoyindamola, what kind of mistake is that? You set the Bongo FA Cup with playoffs and left the Nairaland FA Cup as a race to finish without playoffs. Bourne007: Maybe rules don change but doesn't look like there will be play offs ọ. Usually from GW 36, it's blank with no opponents. This time, it's different 😬 🤔
If banking on play offs, better change strategy lol 😜 |

You understand statistics and probability at all? There are at least six positions between you and the last playoff spot and 12pts difference to boot with just 30pts to play for. Even if you win your next 5, you will need at least three of those below you to also win their next five and at least four of those above you to lose at least four out of their next six matches for you to even be in contention for the 8th position. You don dey understand now abi PrinceEma: You can lose 5 in a row.
If I did it, you can do it more. |
