I just finished reading Buried Under The Baobab Tree. It is based on the stories of girls abducted by Boko Haram. Nwaubani writes a fictional story from the point view of one girl. I can't sleep. I have sobbed uncontrollably. I felt rage, and this tighten around my chest. Nobody deserves the hell those young girls had to go through... Nobody.  I have read about the abducted Chibok girls , but never this up close, just headlines and numbers. This is an important story, one which reminds us to feel. I have never read a story so captivating with a powerful narrative. While I read, a girl out there in the forest is experiencing the same thing and living it as reality; I never felt so helpless. Nwaubani did a great job. I am wowed. |

I have decidedly chose to read more queer fictions this year than I have ever had to. Just finish reading, The Order Of Nature by Josh scheinert (paper back). it's a very important love story one which deserves to be felt. |
