Hi CannyFam. What are the cons of applying to a PGD program that is not PGWP eligible, please? Does this means return to country immediately after studies.

Hello guys, good Morning.
Please I want to ask, what's the best school in CA to study Software Engineering. Undergraduate level.
I want to start the procedure right away

From research, Uniwaterloo has a superb software engineering program. Not sure if they have an okay acceptance rate but you could give it a try.

With a first class, I would advise you start contacting supervisors, you have a high chance of getting funded.
Just prepare your CV well and write a good cold email.

But if you just want to apply without considering scholarship opportunities, I think you have a chance in any Canadian university. Just work on a good SOP.

Thanks for the tips technix, ketima
I'll keep y'all updated. One love.

Which one is 1:1? You mean you graduated with low 1st class or what? Or are your referring to class of degree below 3rd class? Unless you mean pass which is around 1.0+ CGPA. In such case, advanced Diploma or PGD (if lucky enough) is your best bet.

Note that schools deal on merit not on quota system for international students. So if you merit it( be among the best) and surpass the admission requirements, you will surely get it.

By that, I meant a first class.
I'm sorry to pour unrelevant information here.
It's just that I was very conversant with the app process, guidelines etc al for Canadian study Visa, but I kinda phased out and focused on other stuffs.

Thanks for always responding.

Hello CanadaNomad,

Let me correlate your words. First you got a job that pays 1mio+( is it monthly or yearly).

Also, you said your target is fall 2022. Please as said the money will help you achieve your target of studying abroad, so is it this money you just got this month that you plan to use to achieve the dream by fall 2022?

Mind you:
1). Fall 2022 term application for Masters is even closed in many schools with only fee left

2) Most PGD School have started placing students on wait-list.
So if fall 2022 term is your target, you need to be quick about it and start applying ASAP.

I believe 2023 should be your target so that by then, you must have saved some money from your monthly income.

If you're thinking of going for fall 2022 term, you only have 6months (Feb to June) atleast to save and get living expenses+1year tuition. That's if you mean you earn 1mio monthly or you already have money set aside for the studies.

TYSM for your response.

Yes the pay is monthly. As advised I'll shift focus to early 2023.

Any idea of schools with high intake rate for Nigerians?

I grad'ed with a 1:1 if there's anything like that and looking for a software dev related course or data science as second choice. Thanks!

Hello guys. I need advice please. I got a well paying remote job this month of 1m+. I figure this will give me a chance to actualize my long time goal of studying abroad. I have a background in IT (BSc. Computer Science, 4+ years experience in technical support). I need ideas on how to go about this please. My target is fall 2022 or winter 2023.
