Nairaland / General / The Truth About Success Bible Quiz (sbq) by canadianprince: 7:18pm On Dec 30, 2015
THE TRUTH ABOUT SUCCESS BIBLE QUIZ (SBQ) "worldwide".
It is with utmost displeasure and shame that I share and bring to the notice and awareness of every student and job seekers out there, the experience I had with the above stated organization. This piece of information is essential for everyone, but the most vulnerable are students and job seekers. I do hope the readers will learn a lesson or two after reading this.
In the year 2014, the Director of SBQ, a graduate and an apostle as he told us, came to my school to sensitize us about an upcoming audition with a star prize of N5million up for grabs. That was the first time he came to my school. I didn't register that year because I had absolutely no interest in the event.
Fast forward to 2015, he came around again for publicity. Those were his words but not in quote, during the sensitization. SBQ is a competition consisting of four categories, namely; music, dancing, bible quiz and memory verses. Winners from each category will meet to determine the star winner who stands the chance to get the star prize of N5m. He went ahead to say SBQ has partners like Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and some music producers and studios. Registration costs only N3,000, and that auditions will take place in Kogi, Lagos, Abuja, Enugu, Jos, and PH.
Straight and convincing isn't it? This time around, I felt like giving it a trial due to some personal reasons. I registered and chose a category. The next was to get myself prepared as I await the day of my auditioning. I had to put my academics and my CA on the line for this event, because I thought within myself, whatever implications may result from that recklessness of mine, the star prize of N5m will be worth it. Did my auditioning, and I qualified to the next stage, Semifinals.
And for reasons best known to them, they decided to hold the semi-finals and finals same day. It was on this day that we realized that what the star winner gets is not N5m but 100k.

if i may ask, whats your reason for going for the SUV?
My dear, I feel the SUV is much safer in the event of collision with sedan vehicles (not that I am praying for that to happen, but the highway is always full of uncertainty), and secondly, the SUV seems to better and fit for the poor conditions of our Nigerian roads. I hate to be driving while my bumper, exhaust and the lower section of my vehicle will be crashing and wearing off by touching the ground, most especially areas where the road is not so good. I have seen it happen to people's vehicle, and the only remedy was to raise the shock and suspension. I want to avoid that.

Car Talk / Which Of These Two Vehicles Should I Go For? by canadianprince: 2:00pm On Nov 08, 2015
Hello nairalanders!
I am about to purchase my first vehicle, but caught between two choices. I have the Nigerian used 2003-2005 Toyota Highlander (SUV) and the 2008 Honda Accord (Sedan) in mind. Though I am considering each vehicle based on safety, cost of maintenance, fuel economy, durability and reliability, smooth driving, and less problematic in comparison to the other. I am still finding it difficult to make a decision. I have tried checking consumer ratings and reviews of these vehicles from various sites, the information I got were independent reviews but not a comparison between the two vehicles. I love the sedan in terms of the luxury it offers and other features, but in terms of safety, I feel SUVs are much safer vehicles to drive compared to sedans, given the condition of our roads and in the event of accidents.
I sincerely will appreciate contributions from users of these vehicles, as it will go a long way in helping me to make the right choice.

Politics / Nairalanders, Do You Still Remember This So-called Nigeria Messiah Prophecy? by canadianprince: 1:50pm On May 19, 2015
I had been looking for this post after the conclusion of the general elections that our incumbent president lost.
On the day this post was made on nairaland, a tribal war almost emerged in the thread. Lol!
Now that election has been won and lost, I am just wondering how most of the egocentric and self conceited followers of that thread will feel now, given the kind of boastful statements that day.
The prophet said, Jonathan's administration will give birth to Davidic reign which didn't happen. He talk about some kind of military intervention and so on.
I don't know but, will business still flow for this MOG as usual?
Below is the post:

An Ibadan-based popular prophet, Apostle Perez Iyiola Oluyemi has affirmed that President Goodluck Jonathan is not the Messiah Nigeria needs.

The cleric, who doubles as founder of Achievers Rock Commission International and President, Africa Evangelical Council, said Nigerians should expect another “messiah” who will lead them out of their social and economic woes and not the current leader.

Apostle Iyiola made this prediction in his newly-published book entitled: ‘Prophetic Roadmap on Nigeria 2015 and Beyond.’

Copies of the books were made available to journalists in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital on Thursday.

The cleric in the book declared that “Jonathan would not be the messiah, but an unnamed ‘David’ would be”.

The publication reads in part, “While David stands for the on-coming (next) generation, and he is to be the permanent messiah of Israel, the man whose dynasty Israel would live to praise for thousands of years to come. David was also of the minority of the minority, Judah, though, spoken of much earlier in prophecy had never shown any record of much greatness except much earlier in Perez and Caleb. Unto Judah shall the scepter be until Shiloh comes.

“Though predictions had been made much earlier, Judah never rose to anything as much of greatness until David came. But the oncoming generation, the great oncoming mighty leader that will conquer all the external enemies of Israel and would usher the nation into greatness would be raised up into national fame and celebration through Saul/Jonathan i.e. Saul cum Jonathan administrations.”

It reads further: “Who is this David? I cried aloud! Once we can identify the David, we shall solve the riddle of Nigeria.”

Oluyemi stated that the spirit took him “back to a prophecy and an earlier revelation in 2010 of a man from the South East of Nigeria, specifically, of Igbo extraction who shall become the Nigeria’s messiah and lead the nation away from an oil dependent economy to a heavily industrialised nation of the world, when Nigeria will be made a great cynosure of the entire globe fulfilling her place and purpose in God’s great destiny for her as a nation, which the devil had fought for too long a time by civil war and the likes.”

Oluyemi said “it is the pact of Jonathan’s that will birth Davidic reign. The Davidic reign is the messiah reign. A messiah is coming! The Messiah that no Saul shall be able to stop though had long been persecuted by Saul in the light of the divine manifold wisdom, we walk as children of light whereby we shall not stumble. For what God permits and expects man to do, angels would not be sent to do it.

“Angels would only do what they are ordered to do. They wait on man for man to do what he (man) is expected to do. It is the right of man to vote not of the angels. Man should vote wisely by choice and not by force, out of the light of understanding and counsel, he is graced with.

“God in the context of this crossroad of the destiny of this biggest and greatest black nation on the earth has been gracious and liberal to raise a voice in the light of His Prophetic Apostolic mandate to guide us by choice and not by order.

“Even though, it is written that the steps of the righteous are ordered by the LORD but God is still magnanimous enough to lead us not as if we are robots by way of order but by our choices so that when He judges the world, God might be just to all. Choices are ours; judgment belongs to God.

“The Davidic government will be assisted and established by military helps. The Jonathan administration will have a pact with Davidic government but Saul’s spiritual dynasty will rise against David’s rising and the spiritual Saul will fall at Gibeah by military clash. That will give birth to the establishment of Davidic reign of dominion for Nigeria over all her external enemies.

“Nevertheless, the hand of the Lord will come against Jonathan’s reign before the end of his other second reign for the break of his covenant to leave at the end of the full first term which would have

Thanks a lot guys. I do appreciate you all. I am now more confident about the infinix device.
But then, is the price of the device going up? The last time I checked on Konga, it was N14,900. How come it is being tagged N16k now?

Tecno P5+ or Infinix Hot

Hi nairalanders!
Sorry to bug u with this question of mine, but I really do need your advice on which of these devices to choose, as this is my first time of considering buying either the Tecno or Infinix device.
Should I go for Tecno P5+ or Infinix Hot. My budget is around 14k. And most importantly, I want a device that I can easily alter its IMEI number to enable it browse with BIS plan.
Which should I go for in respect of reliability? Heard Infinix is good at overheating, but don't know how true it is. Even if it is true, it should depend on the level of usage.
I'll really do appreciate your advice on this issue.

Romance / How Can One Handle A Situation Where Your Spouse Denies You S*x? by canadianprince: 8:32pm On Dec 18, 2014
I have been thinking about this for quite sometime now. I have heard and read about such case a number of times.
Marriage indeed doesn't guarantee one s*x when you have the urge, as your partner might not be in the mood as at that time. Some will blatantly deprive you of the fun to express their contempt, fury and disappointments in you.

Now, a situation where you are in the mood and she is not( I call it wrong timing of the mood), how do you handle it?
What do u guys think is the best way to deal with such situation?

Hate is too strong for the ONE you love. @Op, maybe you should change line to 'dislike'
I am not using the one loved as the object here, but the person's character. So hating a character generally, which unfortunately is being displayed by a loved is not too harsh or rude. It's all about that particular behavior, and not the person in entirety.

how do u love and hate at de same time
I don't understand ur language but ll respond to d one I understand.
Let me tell u, when u love someone, there is definitely a nectar or force of attraction making you feel that way about that person. Likewise hatred coz, u don't hate people, but u hate certain things about them. That is why life is always two phased. There is no perfect person. You may love someone but not like everything about that person. It is not like u hate that person, but u just don't like what that person does sometimes. That was why the question is "WHAT is it u don't like ABOUT the one u love most?".
Romance / Re: What Do You Hate About The Person You Love Most? by canadianprince: 6:23pm On Nov 29, 2014
I don't believe u guys. U can't tell me you love everything about him/her. There must be something you are should be telling her to work on or change.
No one is perfect. Hope u know that.
Romance / What Do You Hate About The Person You Love Most? by canadianprince: 5:52pm On Nov 29, 2014
Love is something natural, an emotion that we don't drive but drives us. It selects for you whom to love among different alternatives. It is like an installed program in the human system.
Every human being in this world has someone that matters most to him or her. Someone he or she is willing to do anything for, no matter the consequences or risks.

Although, the willingness to undertake such risks doesn't mean that person is labelled perfect. Such person may have certain flaws in character, capable of upsetting you when exhibited.

Now the question is; what do you hate about the one you love most?

For me, the person I love most is my mum. In fact I'll say she is too much. Most loving and caring mother she is to me. I love her deeply like I love God. But if there is anything I don't like about her is; she is overly sensitive and hardly recognize jokes. She takes things too serious and easily get offended at the slightest provocation. She can also be very apprehensive somethings. I love her dearly, but all these things, whenever she does any, pisses me off alot.

So lets have your own take.......
