₦airaland Forum

Yippie, one of the many posts found it to FP...

neoapocalypse:
Doesn't really matter whichever one gets to front page , what matters is the publicity , it's something we should be proud of as Nigerians and Africans. News like this should grace the front page more often rather than "what Tonto Dike ate for lunch"

My point exactly.
EDIT: He finally made it to FP, https://www.nairaland.com/2721959/jighere-wellington-new-world-scrabble

Assassin's Creed Rogue. I honestly don't know what jazz Ubisoft uses for me to keep playing this series that has turned into a cash cow yearly franchise. Damn you Ubisoft. Damn you PSN for the offer (it's currently £9.90 for ACRO Templar Edition, that's 10p cheaper than the digital standard edition).

Sidebar: For anyone who's interested, the Far Cry 3 & Far Cry 4 bundle is £11.99 on PSN, it's actually 51p cheaper than the digital standard edition of FC4. Oh and FC3 is currently £5.50).

krattoss:

I won't be surprised if Channels T.V or any other station carries this news before it gets to Nairaland front page. SMH

It appears that he's made the Nigerian blogs & news today. For a guy, whose name was last mentioned in September 2014* on NL, he's become quite popular this afternoon...

Now chessguru, I would normally close this thread, since we already have two threads (by neoapocalypse) about this in this section.
https://www.nairaland.com/2719681/world-scrabble-championship-ongoing-perth (made yesterday, while he was leading).
https://www.nairaland.com/2721441/nigerian-wins-world-scrabble-championship (made earlier today, after we won).
But, I'm simply hoping that one of them actually makes it to the FP.

Neoapocalypse, see how you don carry me to Sports section, I'm not the mod of this section, but I applaud your tenacity. Let's hope one of the posts makes FP.

Nice thing to wake up to...don't judge, I woke up super early then went back to sleep hours later. Anywho, congratulations Wellington Jighere for walloping Lewis MacKay and winning the title.

The final board.

Jighere walks away with 10000 Auatralian dollars.

Binge watching the remaining 9 episodes of Mr. Robot.

The Mysteries of Laura. Where the heck did they find that Nigerian accent?! American television will not kill me with 419 Nigerian accents...

Arrow. John Constantine! Why was it cancelled?! Yes, I know the ratings were not good, but it was a 10pm supernatural/horrow show on network TV the odds were very against it...I wish it was on HBO, Starz, Netflix or AMC it would have done well. Geez, it would even killed on syfy, even with the channel's questionable CGI budget.

Bassclef:
Lol......hope you are ready for Gaming Rehab??

I'm sitting here watching my PS3 slowly downloading a game (7% of 6679MB)...it looks like I'll keep singing Amy Winehouse's Rehab on this particular addiction.

Anywho...The moment you start quoting prose, while playing a video game, you know it just got real.

solomonbrown64:
Alright, Haven't seen the movie yet, until then.

Whoops...seen it twice, I only saw it the second time 'cause it was the only thing on IMAX, and I really wanted to see what the fuss IMAX was about...IMAX = really big screen, that's it.

He won his last match, making it 25 wins. In your face Wayne Kelly!

solomonbrown64:
Oops, my bad.... I think they are both crazy because they have been partners for more than ten years...
Personally, I like Freeman, he is a great actor and I loved what he did in the Hobbit series, I am hoping he does better in Captain America: Civil War....
Speaking of Andrew Scott's new movie, I think you are referring to Spectre, right?

Yup.

A Helen of Troy moment...

The final board on his 30th match against Marlon Prudencio (SGP) Score: 436:360

neoapocalypse:
Hahaha , keep your pants on lady , the finals is tomorrow , you'll need all the nerve steadying tomorrow.

Don't calm my nerves with logic and common sense...I shall refresh!

...acting like Scrabble is my new high.

That was quick...why rush into another marriage? Anywho, hope it goes well...

lalasticlala abeg push am go front page , we are set to make history.

Excuse you, what do you think I've been trying to do? Since you didn't put a link up in the first place, I had to investigate.

neoapocalypse:
The world scrabble championship is ongoing in Perth Australia with the Nigerian team doing well. Nigeria is already in the finals after 3 days of play and 30 games ( 2 games left ) , Wellington Jighere is currently placed 1st after 30 games with 23 wins and will either finish 1st or 2nd regardless of the outcomes from other games even if he loses his last 2 games. The finals will be a best of 3 games between 1st and 2nd , if he wins the finals he'll be the first black man , the first African and the first Nigerian to win the World scrabble championship. Go Wellington , go Nigeria.

Ugwuugo10:
How do i install computer game to my laptop

It's been a while since my PC gaming days, but I do believe we need more information...

I personally don't pre-order games, since I would be paying retail price. Plus, publishers are getting too greedy with the pre-order exclusives (eg Goro in MKX), trying to entice us to spend our money. Over here, I know if you pre-order a game, they usually try to post it so you get it on release day.

Not a fan of downloads, this is quite ironic - I'm actually downloading a game at this very moment from PSN. Anywho, since with PSN downloads, you've to have at least double the file size to begin the download and I don't usually have the space to begin with, thanks to those many patches/updates developers spring on us after they've given us shoddy products (eg Tony Hawk's Pro Skater 5 day one patch being bigger than the actual base game).

solomonbrown64:
Oh really, I can't wait then.... It seems they will finally end the show in 2017.... Can't blame Moffat though, Benedict and Freeman are always busy...
My favorite quote,
"Sherlock is pouring, pouring " lol... Andrew Scott is one crazy actor.
Amanda and Benedict partners in real life and spouses in the movie.

Actually, it's Martin Freeman and Amanda Abbington that are partners in real life and married in the series. I'm sure that was slightly awkward to film, since they don't appear to ever want to get married, I know one of them said something along those lines during an interview... Andrew Scott certainly enjoys playing Moriarty. It's gotten so bad for me, that whenever I see him in anything else, I simply assume he's a bad guy - that certainly worked for me in his latest film.
