bufness:I've Netflix, so I'm clueless on links. |
TonySpike:Your logic is highly flawed. You're trying to play a numbers game, let's remind you why. MCU did individual movies to set up the characters with their origin story, THEN, made the team up movie. DCEU did a Superman film (with obligatory origin story), then a Superman sequel, where they decided to drag everything and the kitchen sink to build a world that wasn't really hinted in the previous film. BvS turned into a mini origin story for Batman, an introduction for WW (not an origin story), a rushed exposition dump (thanks to the world's scrolliest email, when last did you read an email line by line?) and a theatrical cut that removed subplots necessary for the film. After that they did an origin story of sorts for a group of individuals fighting against a dancing villain, which tried to give us glimpse of the current situation without Superman. Then, they finally DID an origin story for a JLer, so that's techically 3 origin stories for the big team up. If they had followed the MCU approach, Flash, Cyborg & Aquaman should have had their own films before their big team up, but no, they got their supposed introductions (I refuse to say origins) in an exposition email. Look at WW, there's a reason why it's been doing well and it has nothing to do with SJW, they told a coherent story, they chose a good director who was able to pull out some really decent acting out of Gal Gadot, the scriptwriter (I'm tired of fanboys giving Snyder way too much credit for this, I'm too lazy to start talking about the difference in story & script. I'll just say Snyder wasn't the sole credit for story, but Allan Heinberg is the sole credit for the script) actually gave us a rather solid script, not perfect, but certainly tighter than SS & BvS. They told a story that actually stayed true to the character's roots and were rewarded greatly for it. WW is the reason why I'm still watching DCEU, if they had effed that up after over 40 years of waiting, I can bet you they would have lost a lot of fans. It still pains me that my midnight screening of this wasn't even a third full. I watched the first screening of Girls Trip at my cinema yesterday and it was sold out, even after all the technical difficulties with the film, which meant we started almost an hour late and after some folks left, the cinema was still 80% full. Fortunately though, good word of mouth has worked for WW, I still hope it earns more than BvS. Now, let's remind you of the other aspects of rushing, DCEU in their quest to catch up have released their own set of dates for their upcoming films, but they keep losing directors, writers & general crew like a bad joke. Wasn't Flash originally supposed to be next year? It has lost directors, writers, scripts before they finally settled on the Flashpoint story. DCEU need a producer of the calibre of Kevin Feige, I keep repeating this, they could go into their animated department and ask Bruce Timm for pointers. It's not just setting future dates and looking busy. Say what you want about the MCU's safeness, but Feige has supervised a rather decent shared universe. Plus, we've gotten a rather decent calibre of directors thanks to their willingness to hire interesting and lesser known directors. Snyder isn't a good storyteller, he's a visual director. I know that due to personal family issues, he's no longer the main producer of the DCEU, but hopefully they can get a producer who isn't mostly focused on visuals. We now live in a rich age of comic book media, it's on the big screen, telly and our games. We are not just reading them anymore. Whether you like it or not, the MCU took a risk and their risk paid off, now everybody wants a piece of that pie. They had an idea and planned accordingly, they didn't rush it. Everybody is trying to build a shared universe sotay Universal has resurrected their Monster verse, complete with one false start and a bomb (I actually liked Dracula Untold, still haven't seen the Mummy reboot, that thing got dragged out of my cinema way too fast, same thing happened with Transformers, I finally dragged myself after stalling only to find they were both gone before a month on release. Oddly enough WW was still airing). Sony tried to set up one with ASM2, that was DOA. They finally let the MCU play with Spidey. Although, they now want to do Venom film, so they might not have learned their lesson, but time will tell. Look, folks are willing to wait for the DCEU to catch up, they just need to stop rushing, it worked for WW. |
Castlevania. |
Girls Trip. Completely sold out in my cinema. |
Imfinished:Both. I'm assuming the Internet bit means the PSN store... |
With the 4.50 patch, you're now able to store and play your games on an external HDD on the PS4, the PS4 will have to reformat the HDD first, after that you're good to go. |
LucemFerre:The sweet sweet irony... |
LucemFerre:You really need to learn how to finish a written sentence... Anywho, every "best of" list is always subjective. I guess I should have been more specific, since that is what I meant, since any list made with respect to a supposed/non-concrete value (eg best, worst, overrated, underrated etc) will always be subjective. Especially, when one considers the fact that one will never play every available game on every available platform. Even the graphics list still has its issues, not every game will be tested, not every game would be played on the highest possible settings (usually PC, we already know the difference between PC & consoles and even in console vs consoles (we could even go further with consoles vs their half-step iterations counterparts - ie XO vs XOX). I haven't even mentioned 4K sef and the tvs or monitors they'd be using for the test sef. What about games that use a retro style graphics design, do they get removed from this category? Are best graphics only for photorealistic games? At the end of the day, any list that isn't really using a concrete set of values (eg sales) are always subjective. |
EmmGee:Always trying to steal the show... |
Despicable Me 3. |
idreezbaba:The thirst is real. Sorry mate, I'm ugly. |
LucemFerre:Every list is subjective. Even when folks agree with the choices, it's still subjective. |
The Big Sick. |
holyboii:No, sorry I've no idea. |
Gypsy. I don't know if I'm ready for this crazy, but here goes nothing. |
Defcon1:True, but F&F has been growing steadily since F5. Unlike the Transformers franchise, the sheep still go, but the complaints have risen and folks are actually voting with their wallets. Transformers has already been removed from my cinema, didn't last up to a month. I kept postponing my viewing sotay when I was finally ready, it was taken away (same with The Mummy). The fact remains that Bay refuses to change the status quo - refuses to listen to the complaints and improve. Unlike F&F that has really played to its strengths, if I remember correctly, F8 got just over $1b box office without the help of the US BO (it earned over $220m in US, if you were wondering). Which obviously, had nothing to do with Walker, but more to do with a franchise that keeps playing to its strengths. It's one of the films I regret not watching again, because I had so much fun watching it. I know I actually told the film to "take me now" at least twice. The guy, next to me at the cinema, kept laughing at me. |
Bloody hell Orphan Black wan kill person. Anywho, against my better judgement, I'm finally watching season 2 of Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments. I ignored it for so long, Netflix removed it from my Continue Watching tab. Bring on the questionable acting & questionable tattoos that keep forgetting their opacity! UPDATE: I lasted about 7 minutes, I believe 2 of those were recap... |
Orphan Black. You rat bas***ds better leave Kira alone! |
Kaycee7:If that was the case, For Honor wouldn't be on his list. |
HyDef:MEA has created so much memes with its dodgy animations, questionable dialogue and some weird bugs that folks have encountered. The default female protagonist scares the shtako out of me & the character creation is flawed. I believe it's currently on its 9th patch. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYDJNf4LyBs |
Every time I see/hear Mass Effect: Andromeda I always remember the line, "my face is tired". They really messed up with the animations, they should have spent at least 6 more months on it. Seriously! Just look at it! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5b6qH48bslA |
MobileGees:I just dey look you...rumours ko? You just dey develop your own gossip... |
cupidhero:Found out yesterday around 11pm through a push notification on my Smule Sing app. Na so I just spoil my PSN party chat. Just because you've money doesn't mean all your problems will be magically solved. |
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dGA4RIUaHS8 No commentary, just gameplay. I'll probably upload the match after this one later, I was mostly sleep trolled by Ana in that one, but we still won though. |
First and foremost this happened in 2013. Secondly, I've taken off the link to the website he was trying to advertise. Thirdly, here's an actual link to an article about the incident - http://edition.cnn.com/2013/08/25/us/louisiana-boy-kills-grandmother/index.html . Oh and she was 87 years old not 90. |
DarkRebel69:As usual, always making a mountain out of an anthill. Unless you've forgotten (or you're being facetious), I don't live in Nigeria. Glasses are glasses, they're a necessity not a luxury. |
MissCuppy:Cosima tends to be everybody's favourite. Although, she really does push too much. I've grown to enjoy Helena & Alison. Ah...season 1, simple times... |
DarkRebel69:I've no clue about Omotola's film, Nollywood isn't exactly big in my area. The only non-western films we get over here are Bollywood films. I'm good, been playing way too much Overwatch lately. And yes, I'm actually short sighted. |
DarkRebel69:I see you've resurfaced. |
Orphan Black. |
