There is a reason why many clubs and managers are not consistently playing 3ATB.

One it is largely a defensive formation since you have almost 7 defensive minded players on the field 3 CBs, 2 wing backs, 2 DM/CM which is 7 already. Many top clubs and their fans wont want to play a defensive style

Tactically the half spaces between the wide CB and the Wing back are notorious weak points as the wing back is usually too pulled away and the CB is not close enough
This formation overworks the wing backs while the middle CB is mostly chilling and his job is to mopup
In a midfield battle in most time you are outnumbered 3v2 by any 433 side. So beside your wingbacks, you overwork your 2 CMs which usually cracks unless you sit back so one of your CBs can step up to help without pulling him out of position and compromising the 3 defensive shape

Most importantly, the bulk of players in the past 50yrs and till today are raised in a 4 at the back system, So your pool of players who knw how to play the 3ATB system are usually very shallow and limited. right now maybe the clubs that play 3ATB consistently might not be up to 10 in the whole of Europe, So you will need to scout for your transfers among these 10 clubs otherwise buy from outside and now retool the players and retrain them

Your understanding of formation is flawed.

* Most teams playing 4-3-3 always use a variation of 3 at the back. Formations are not static.

*You don't need special players to play 3-4-3 or it's variations.

* It's not a defensive formation. The coach implementing it is responsible for it's outlook.

It's telling that Tuchel doesn't rate Rice ability as a midfielder, which is why he ended up being shifted to play right back.

I don't care about their happiness, it's irrelevant to me , I care about enjoying the tournament and watching top teams go head to head in the latter stages of the tournament. Paraguay qualifying adds nothing. Another boring team with Haramic football.
