Tuchel system never needed an elephant like lukaku and no, he wasn't having a good season. He scored 4 goals in First three league games and then didn't score for the next 7 while stinking up the place and pointing to be passed the ball in impossible positions. Even before we went for him I could tell he was going to be a bad signing despite others being blind and calling him world class.

I don’t think so, bro. With the arrival of Xavi Simons, I believe Palmer won’t be played centrally as much. Maresca will most likely stick with him on the right wing, where he was most effective last season. Neto and Estevão might get chances, but probably more in rotation or against lesser teams. Palmer’s consistency and creativity from the right is too valuable to shift permanently.

Having Palmer dictate play from midfield is honestly a waste of his attacking abilities.
He’s far more dangerous operating closer to the final third, where he can directly influence the game with goals and assists. His instinct and creativity shine best in the attacking zones, not deep in midfield.

He never dictates play from midfield, he is not a True number 10 like Wirtz or even Simmons that we are getting. His best position is on the wings which is why we should get Xavi by all means.

Still not sold on any of our strikers for next season. Jackson honestly shouldn’t even be at the club. Joao Pedro’s ball striking and goal return are mediocre and while Delap’s finishing is decent, it’s nothing to get excited about. Schick is right there for £30M.

Just rewatching the final and from a tactical point Maresca was 100% spot on. That was a tactical masterclass, never knew he had it in him after that disaster he pulled against City at the Etihad. The role Neto and gusto played was soo crucial. Hopefully it's not a one off.

Xabi Simmons is a very similar players to Wirtz without the same dribbling ability. His fbref isn't bad but not top tier. Between him and Morgan Rodgers I will take Xavi and he's available for just 50m.
