Soknown: I know next to nothing about Bio-medical science honestly, so i cannot offer viable advice. I will say this though, go with your passion. Whichever profession you choose, there will be difficult days, your passion will see you through such days. If you can spare another 4 or 5 years of studying and the accompanying finances, you can go with Adult nursing which will give you a better grip and understanding of the profession, otherwise 2 to 3 years in the University will get you a mental health nursing. Thanks for this. I appreciate |

@ Soknown I have followed this thread from the onset to this moment. My question is, How Lucrative is Biomedical science in the UK? Do you know anything about "Chester". Or should I switch course to Adult or Mental Nursing? I am 31, Single and I hope to settle down soonest but not desperate oh...(Na man I be and I dey fear women now small). Please I hope U can just put me through all round including the important things to note wether I ask or not. Still following.

justwise: Yes.
That is if you are coming with little money hoping to work and pay remaining fees and support yourself but if you are financially ok then no problem.
If you want to enjoy studying the UK, great experiences and memories that comes with, don't come financially unprepared
Personally i wouldn't take admission from any school offering online lecture, i rather stay in Nigeria and do long distance learning. Thanks so much for this. Best Regards |

Calm054: Wow, same here. I have admissions from Sheffield Hallam University (Msc. Biomedical Laboratory Science) and University of Chester (Msc. Biomedical Science). I have made up my mind to go for University of Chester because it's cheaper, IBMS accredited, and from the course description one can choose speciality. I suggest you hold on on any deposits for now until month end or beginning of June, but if e dy you hot hot I'll advice you just make the 3k deposit for now. By Gods Grace, all things being equal we'll meet at in class. OK bro. All the best. The way this currency fluctuation is,... Let's keep hope alive anyways. |

justwise: 1. I really don't know much about the university, i don't want to give you an uninformed review of the university
2. You don't really struggle with student jobs in any town that has an university and you also have Amazon FC there.
3. If you can pay, you are going to pay all during the orientation anyway.
4. Only buy a car if (a) you don't look at price tag (b) That car will be bringing in money..i don't mean driving to work or school. (c) when the cost of public transport is higher than the cost of buying and maintaining the car.
5.As a foreign student you are not allowed to engage in any form of business...are there foreign students that engage in business? Undoubtedly yes but its against your student visa rule , so do it at your own peril
6. No
7. No course is unmarketable Thanks my chief. I appreciate your response. Best Regards |

omopapa: Please don’t use SOP as an acronym for Statement of Purpose especially for someone like you that’s going into the lab
SOP is standard operating procedure Loool!!! I get the Joke bro. But... It is what it is. My mind Don dey knock with this our comparison o!!! But I go check. I don't think some of the top Universities offer Biomedical Science. I might be wrong but that's what I am seeing here. Please keep suggesting as I hope to make the right choice with your help. Oloshi83: No offence but with a 2:1, why Chester? Is it mainly the cost? My dear, please I am open to any other better options. Cost yes, but I can make adjustments to the money I am willing to spend if you think I deserve a better school. Please be free to suggest since there is still small time for applications. Best Regards |

Aprokodaughter: If it was congratulations for choosing us it would have been better. These emails started coming like two weeks after my interview and the emails were like "congratulations on your next step" then they went on to talk about deposit.
What is even annoying me is that they kept my application for weeks and months without saying anything about canceling the course.
What if I had not emailed them or I did not apply to other schools. It will be back to square one.
They would have informed applicants what's happening. For Instance I applied for the same course in University of Stirling. Immediately I submitted my application Stirling emailed that they won't be accepting applicants this year. That's all Chester would have done. OK. So U won't be going there again? |

You don’t write IBMS bro, you complete a portfolio in an accredited lab.
May I ask which course you did in your undergraduate and if you have any previous significant laboratory experience from Nigeria. Bro, I studied Parasitology and Entomology with 4...cgpa in Nnamdi Azikiwe University. So After the Portfolio ishh, I can now get licensed? |

Skymoore1004: Bro I don’t think she said that in the view of withholding information. Think she’s also waiting to hear back from Chester & experienced some kind of delay from the university. The person in quote is also an applicant, so she doesn’t have any firsthand info about studying there.
Don’t take it hard [quote author=Aprokodaughter post=89383837]That University of Chester. It is well let me face my front. Thanks a lot for your input bro. So much point you have made here. If you know something about the university, why don't you just say it and stop displaying your childish attitude here. If we know all those things, we for no ask. Ah ahh. Good morning my People. I have been following since day 1 and I wanted to be certain of things before I ask. I have been admitted to study "Biomedical Science" in "Chester University" and "Sheffield Hallam University". I am really tempted to go for Chester as they also offer top up courses to enable me write IBMS and get licensed. Now my questions.
1) Is That University a good one?
2) How is Chester in terms of student Job and life generally?
3) I have been asked to make a deposit of 3kp but I intend to make 6kp out of the total 9450p, How does this move help me?
4) Do I need a car, or should I just forget about it?
5) Can I do small buying and send down to Nigeria for sale?
6) Since it's my first time traveling, will I have issues with a virgin passport?
7) How Marketable is this course in UK?.
Please I have some other questions as I intend to start paying school fees this week, but kindly put me through on this ones first. Thanks all the gurus in the house. I am expecting your responses.
Cc Justwise, etc.
Best Regards |
