I've hated Igbos for so many years because of a horrible experience I had at the hands of an Igbo boss years ago. I thought I'd never see a good person of Igbo extraction.

So today I visited a friend who happened to have a wife that just delivered. I'm still single, so I sat down chatting with him because there was nothing I would be doing at home.

After a while he went out and returned to tell me that her mother in the Lord (a female pastor who was advanced in age) who lived in the same compound as his was about to go to the market and usually, he accompanied her. Now that his wife really need company, he begged me to follow her as the woman usually purchased in bulk and would need someone to take the stuff into her car.

I obliged him.

When we got to the market, I was following her around the whole place like a house boy . At the end of the day, when we were done with buying and transferring the large food materials to her car, she pointed to some huge tubers of yam, and other food stuff, and told me they were for me. She said I would take them when we return home.

I was very happy and surprised. I thought she was just another entitled woman who would use me without feeling a need to appreciate.

Long story short, when we returned, I helped her take the stuff to her apartment and you know what? She topped it up with some CASH!!

When I told my friend, he said that's how she does. When I asked more to know about her, he told me her name:

An IGBO name!

The private practice nurse are far better than you lots who do nothing in most government hospitals rather than playing useless politics and attending cooperative society meetings . 75% of the day roaming aimelessly around the hospital premises and talking to patients and their families anyhow

Those thick bottomed and shapeless matrons just sit in the nursing bay from morning to afternoon doing nothing but gossiping about how an 'ordinary' house officer earns so so.
And they're the ones who indoctrinate d younger ones on how to perennially be rude to doctors.
Nothing de do other than harass patients ,patients relatives and the attendants working under them.
That is why 99% of them are morbidly obese cos they do next to nothing while every doctor is on his foot from the time you enter your house till when you leave.

For those of you supporting doctors against nurses,you must have watched too much Nollywood ,and better still not exposed . FYI, nurses are not doctor's servant,they both are professionals with different responsibilities. It's in a bleeped up country like Nigeria you will see Doctors acting Lord and all,and the citizens too don't even know the difference.

A doctor is not meant to have authority over a Nurse. They are colleagues, not boss and employee. And a Doctor is meant to clean up after him or herself after a procedure, not to wait for a Nurse to that for him. Cleaning up after a procedure is not a Nurses procedure. Hollywood movies have made the public believe that Nurses are surbodinates to doctors. This isn't so

Why are there "scrub nurses" in the theatre if it is never anybody else's duty to clean up after d doctor?
What is their job?
What is the job of the attendants attached to the wards?
Agreed nurses are colleagues to doctors but THERE WILL ALWAYS BE A LEADER IN EVERY TEAM which in this case is the doctor.
A ship which doesn't have a captain will sink or run aground.
Patients come to the hospital to see d doctor not nurses, not lab scientists not pharmacists.
Drs now decide,you should go to the ward,you should go to the lab,you should go to the pharmacy.
If a patient doesn't make it,nobody blames the nurse,nobody blames the lab scientist cos they all claim they carry out the instructions of the doctor, so how can they be running shoulders with Drs claiming equal?
A lot of times Patients come to hospitals with complaints, they're reassured and sent home without any test or drug,that shows you the hospital is centered on doctors and patients.

In Nigeria, there are thousands of you nurses,attendants etc in the hospital whose services are not really needed but merely employed for d sake of reducing unemployment, so why should d doctor be wheeling a patient when all of you are there doing nothing?
