Yes...Lev Parnas used to work for Fred Trump since he was 16 years old....He has been in Trump's life for a very long time...Lev was a low level "runner" for Fred Trump back in the day. ...Allegedly he proved himself to Fred in many ways and Fred vouched for him with the Russians which provided him with "made man" status. Lev knows a lot....

You have a superb head on your shoulders.

Most of Fred Trumps dealings back in the day were criminal and he always needed douche bags to help him launder money. Fred thought Trump all about making dirty money and covering your tracks as much as possible.

Donald Trump has a chain of authority of who he speaks with and who passes what information to who. Lev Parnas did a lot of dirty work for him and if he could know those whom Trump told to fire ex ambassador to Ukraine Marie Yovanovitch and this information was verified as true then indeed he knows so much and maybe knows too much.

He probably had no choice than to speak up now in order to avoid what happened to Jeffrey Epstein from happening to him.

By the way do you know that Trump has just hired Epsteins lawyers Alan Dershowitz and Kenneth Starr, who helped Epstein evade prison time in a now infamously lenient plea deal with Palm Beach prosecutors. Epstein originally faced multiple charges of soliciting and trafficking underage girls, but escaped with just 13 months of house arrest in a deal that caused Trump’s Labor Secretary Alex Acosta to resign under pressure last year.

Trump is feeling the heat and needs criminally minded lawyers like these to help him escape his doom if possible

I’m sure trump didn’t say he hasn’t meet him b4, he just doesn’t know who he is beside being a Giuliani associate.

That is false!!

Here are attached 2 pictures.

The first one is taken by Lev Parnas right inside Trump Hotel...feel free to read the caption on the right of the picture. TEAM TRUMP? OUR CELEBRATION?

The second one is Lev Parnas with Rudy Giuliani and Igor Fruman (who is currently in jail)

Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman are associates of Rudy Giuliani who allegedly aided him with a search in Ukraine for detrimental information on U.S. President Donald Trump's political opponents.

I guess they gave themselves this assignment right or Trump did. You can give me your answer. I'll wait

First he never worked with trump or sold properties with trumps father. He merely attended Donald trump rallies and later became a donor. He met with Giuliani, who became trump personal lawyer in 2017. It was through Giuliani he met trump at a fundraiser. Guiliani probably couldn’t have known about Lev fraudulent past or his business and maybe he knew, lev was already been investigated and judging by his testimonies he has given contrasting testimonies in regards to congressman devin nunes meeting with a prosecutor in Vienna while that same congressman was in Libya, taken notes of meetings that never happened etc.

You no sabi anything sha

He was 16 when he began working for Fred Trump.

He was a donor for trump campaigns before he met Giuliani and he was allowed to work with Giuliani on a quid pro quo agreement and he rose from being an acquaintance to being a key man with Giuliani.

He never gave contradictory testimonies about Nunes. He stated it clearly that Nunes was in the loop with all that went down in Ukraine and did not mince words.

Here are the Trump kids with Lev Parnas and Igor Fruman, Rudy Giuliani’s buddies who were arrested for violation of US election law. Coincidence right? grin

Here is Lev Parnas with Giuliani. Coincidence? grin

what position did parnas occupy in American pls

He laundered money for people like trump and was trumps asset in Ukraine. He did their dirty work in Ukraine. Incidentally now he is on trial for money laundering and will make number 7 of the people attached to Trump to go to jail if found guilty.

Every "asset" linked to Trump including Trumps last lawyer are all in Prison ... all 6 of them. Trump is a criminal who needs criminal minded people like him to help with his dirty work and if caught, they go down alone

OP trump is absolutely correct to say he doesn’t know him other than they may have taken pictures together. Taking pictures with politicians in America is big business especially if it’s in a private dinner or meeting. You pay to attend a meeting and you pay for photo-op and it’s totally legal. Let me remind you, the owner of Arik paid the Obama- Biden Campaign to attend a meeting and a photo op together with President Obama and VP Biden at the inauguration dinner, that’s the way it’s done.

Incidentally Lev Parnas and trump are well acquainted because they both sold Property together in New york City for Trumps Father , Fred Trump. Plus he was also a donor to Trump campaign which was why Trump Linked him up with his personal Lawyer Rudy Giuliani and another core Donor to trump Campaign a former congressional nominee named Hyde who is on the right of the first attached picture and also on the right of trump in the second attached picture.

These are some of the closest people to Trump and his inner circle of which Lev Parnas was among

Foreign Affairs / Iran's Leader Blasts Trump As He Leads Friday Prayers For First Time In 8yrs by CaptainMeks: 1:00pm On Jan 17, 2020
Tehran, Iran (CNN)Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei led Friday prayers in Tehran for the first time in eight years, amid public fury over the military's shooting down of a passenger jet and sky-high tensions with the US.

Khamenei mocked US officials as "American clowns" and criticized France, Germany and the UK as "lackeys" of the US that can't be trusted. He also expressed his condolences to the families of victims of the plane crash.

It is rare for Khamenei -- the highest spiritual and political authority in Iran -- to lead Friday prayers, and the move is thought to be an effort to rally support after several tumultuous weeks that have piled pressure on the Islamic Republic's rulers.
Iran's most important general, Qasem Soleimani, was killed in a US drone strike in Iraq two weeks ago, and Iran retaliated with strikes on US targets, bringing Tehran and Washington briefly to the brink of all-out conflict.

Huge crowds attended Friday prayers in Tehran.

Iran's military then shot down a Ukrainian commercial flight in Tehran, killing all 176 people onboard, including 82 Iranians, prompting days of protests and finger-pointing between rival factions of the government.

In a defiant sermon Friday, Khamenei described the "martyrdom" of Soleimani and Tehran's retaliation against the US as "acts of God, not man," and boasted that Iran had delivered a slap in the face to the United States.

Iran's Foreign Minister says people took the streets because they were 'lied to'
"What took place could not have been the work of any human actor, only the hand of God," Khamenei said. "The day in which the missiles of [Iran's Revolutionary Guards] rained down upon the American base, that was also the day of the Almighty."

"We saw history in the making. These are not normal days. The fact that a power, a nation, does possess the spiritual strengths in order to respond to the biggest bullying power in the world with such a slap in the face, this shows the divine hand, the hand of God", the Supreme Leader said.
Khamenei also railed against US President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who have said on social media that they stand with Iranian protesters.

He said "American clowns" lie to the public when they say the US is with the people of Iran.
"If you stand in close proximity to Iran, it is with the intention of driving a knife into the chest of the people," he said.
Huge crowds were present to witness the rare sermon, with President Hassan Rouhani in the front row alongside parliament speaker Ali Larijani. The last time Khamenei presided over Friday prayers was in 2012 to mark the 33rd anniversary of the Islamic Revolution. He also led prayers in 2009 amid protests that erupted after disputed presidential elections.

Over the past few days Iranian radio broadcasts and television had been encouraging people to join the prayers.
They come at a pivotal time for Iran, after vigils to mourn those who died in the Ukraine International Airlines crash quickly turned into mass anti-government demonstrations, with calls for Khamenei to step down and for those responsible for downing the plane to be prosecuted.

Is this Iran's 'Chernobyl moment'?
Iran's military initially denied shooting down the plane before admitting to it several days later, saying the plane was "accidentally hit by human error."

Khamenei expressed his condolences to the families of the victims, but said foreign press had tried to deceive Iranians over the crash.
"Our enemy tried to manipulate the bitter crash of the plane to overshadow our accomplishments," he said.
"The events that followed the crash must not be allowed to repeat themselves," Khamenei added, which could be taken as a stern warning to security forces not to allow further protests or unrest.

Foreign Minister Mohammed Javad Zarif said earlier this week that people had taken to the streets because they were "lied to for a couple days."
Khamenei also addressed ongoing tension with France, Germany and the UK -- the so-called E3 nations -- who triggered a dispute mechanism in the Iran nuclear deal that could lead to a further unraveling of the accord.

"Today it has been clear that these European countries are the lackeys and yes men of America," he said.
"But, you the European countries must bear in mind the America has not managed to bring the Iranian nation down to its knees, let alone you, you are much less mighty than America."

The Europeans are "an iron fist that has been given the veil of a velvet glove," said Khamenei. "They cannot be the people who we trust."

So who then is lying especially since Lev Parnas's relationship with Trump runs as far back as to Trumps Father, Fred Trump as he worked for him same time Trump worked for his father in New York City?

Plus how would Trump allow anyone he did not know or who was not close to him to come close to his Children, wives (both ex and current) and close associates?

Despite a warning from Lev Parnas, President Trump claimed not to know him again Thursday. "I don't know Parnas, other than I guess I had pictures taken, which I do with thousands of people," Trump told reporters in the Oval Office. "I don't know him at all, don't know what he's about, don't know where he comes from, know nothing about him. ... I don't believe I've ever spoken to him."

Jospeh Bondy, Parnas' lawyer, brought the receipts, posting a video taken at Mar-a-Lago in December 2016, where Trump is clearly talking with Parnas, who is standing next to him and also Roman Nasirov, a former Ukrainian official charged with embezzlement.

The Washington Post used that video in a jaunty roundup of Parnas posing, often on multiple occasions, next to Trump and other Republicans who claimed not to know him.

Calling Parnas a "Giuliani associate" is "way too limited — he is a full-fledged member of Trump Co," Chris Cuomo said on CNN Thursday night. As he ran through the details, he showed photo after photo of Parnas and Trump or members of his family and inner circle. "There are so many that I had to leave pictures out," Cuomo said.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVhqPRpQ0CU

In fact, Parnas' connection to Trump stretches back to the 1980s, when he sold real estate for Trump's father, Fred Trump, The Washington Post reported in October. "When Parnas was 16, he worked at Kings Highway Realty, selling Trump Organization co-ops." Adam Entous elaborated at The New Yorker. Parnas told The New Yorker that job "was my first time knowing who Trump was, but, growing up in that area, you knew who Trump was, because his name was all over the place." After Parnas moved to Florida in 1995, Entous added, "on visits to New York, he stayed at Trump properties."

Your hate filled heart has beclouded your sense of judgement because he was seen in a photo or video in a public function Lev Parnas does that make them friends? Even the Ukrainian government has advised he shouldn't be trusted cos a drowning man has nothing to loose, under trump administration the senate just passed the mega USMCA bill and he also signed the phase one of the mega trade deal with China, one of the biggest trade deal in the world's history. Mr sabi American politics I am sure you don't know all this because your source is the anti trump media outfits CNN, MSNBC and Co they feed you with there hate and negativity for trump and the gullible you makes no effort to find the truth.

First of all let me clear your rather deep ignorance. Lev Parnas worked for Trumps father Fred Trump and has been seen in photos with Trumps family dating as far back as 16 years ago so he is not unknown to Trump. He has been seen with Trumps Children, Ex wives during the time they were still married and even with his current wife and has been seen in more photos with Trump than Trump has with his own Children. Trump knows him and only a known and very close person to Trump would not only be cleared by Secret service to get close to Trump but also to laugh and rub Trumps back on numerous occassions.

He has been on trumps private plane numerous times and has even been lodged in trump Hotel numerous times. He has also worked with trumps own Lawyer Giuliani on a Quid Pro Quo basis as approved by Trump so he is no stranger to trump

Plus the Ukrainian government NEVER said any such thing about Lev Parnas. On the contrary they have opened investigation on trump on why he was monitoring and spying on former US ambassador to Ukraine and why he wanted her killed. Evidence has it that she was the one who stood against ukraine announcing a corruption investigation against Biden and trump initially wanted her removed on about 5 occassions then as a last resort considered placing A HIT on her for a price.

Giuliani and Hyde both have whatsapp messages between then proving this and this has been released as evidence.

Mr sabi American politics I am sure you don't know all this because your source is the Pro Trump media outfit FOX NEWS and Co they feed you with there Brainwashing version of Truth for trump and the gullible you makes no effort to find the truth.

The Lev man came out now, why?
After speaker Pelosi refused to send the impeachment article to the Senate and when she decides, boom another bombshell explosion.
It's definitely a planned "Italian job" (her heritage).
Even the Ukrainian foreign minister denied the Lev guy and said "don't believe anything he says".
The Democrats are soar losers and all they are doing is giving Trump edge over them in 2020.

Wait o, even the Biden matter that started this, why can't they look to see if there is an atom of truth in his matter.

Lev Parnas only came out now because he was facing another case before despite being asked for information earlier. His lawyers only just cleared him to come forward with his information. This was declared by Republican senator Sarah Collins.

So it is no "Italian job"

WASHINGTON (AP) — Chief Justice John Roberts was sworn in Thursday to preside over President Donald Trump’s impeachment trial, then immediately administered the oath to the full Senate to ensure “impartial justice” as jurors for only the third such proceeding in American. history.

Full Coverage: Trump impeachment
Roberts made the short trip across the street from the Supreme Court before being ushered to the Senate chamber.

“Will all senators now stand, and remain standing, and raise their right hand,” Roberts said.

“Do you solemnly swear that in all things appertaining to the trial of the impeachment of Donald John Trump, president of the United States, now pending, you will do impartial justice according to the Constitution and laws, so help you God?”

The senators, at their desks, responded and then were called up to sign the oath book

The Constitution mandates the chief justice serve as the presiding officer. Roberts, who has long insisted judges are not politicians, is expected to serve as a referee for the proceedings rather than an active participant. Senators will ultimately render the verdict.

GOP Sen. James Inhofe was absent, home in Oklahoma for a family medical issue, his office said. He plans to return when the full trial begins next week.

Youtube video thumbnail
The Senate opened the impeachment trial at the start of the election year as Trump seeks another term, a test not only of his presidency but also of the nation’s three branches of power and its system of checks and balances. Several senators are running for the Democratic Party’s nomination to challenge Trump in November.

Earlier Thursday, House Democrats prosecuting the case stood before the Senate and formally read the articles of impeachment against Trump.

“Hear ye, hear ye, hear ye!” said the Senate’s sergeant at arms, calling the proceedings to order at noon.

Senators filled the chamber, sitting silently at their seats under strict trial rules that prohibit talking or cellphones, as the ceremonial protocol shifted the proceedings out of Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s Democratic-run House to the Republican-majority Senate.

Seven lawmakers prosecuting the charges, led by Rep. Adam Schiff of the Intelligence Committee and Rep. Jerrold Nadler of the Judiciary Committee, made the solemn walk across the Capitol for a second day.

“With the permission of the Senate, I will now read the articles of impeachment,” said Schiff, standing at a lectern in the well of the chamber, a space usually reserved for senators.

All eyes were on him.

“House Resolution 755 Impeaching Donald John Trump, president of the united States, for high crimes and misdemeanors,” he began, reading the nine pages.

The other House prosecutors stood in a row to his side.

Trump faces a charge that he abused his presidential power by pressuring Ukraine to investigate Democratic rival Joe Biden, using military aid to the country as leverage. Trump was also charged with obstructing Congress’ ensuing probe.Ahead of the proceedings the Government Accountability office said Thursday that the White House violated federal law in withholding the security assistance to Ukraine, which shares a border with hostile Russia.

The president calls the impeachment a “hoax,” even as new information emerges about his actions toward Ukraine that led to the charges against him.

Pelosi said new allegations from an indicted associate of Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, Lev Parnas, only reinforces the need for the Senate to consider further testimony about the president’s actions toward Ukraine.

Pelosi noted that typically a special prosecutor would investigate but she doubted that would happen.

“This is an example of all of the president’s henchmen,” Pelosi said, “and I hope that the senators do not become part of the president’

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell opened the chamber Thursday decrying Pelosi’s decision to hand out “souvenir pens” after she signed the resolution to transmit the charges to the Senate.

“This final display neatly distilled the House’s entire partisan process into one perfect visual,” McConnell said. “’It was a transparently partisan process from beginning to end.”

Democratic Senate leader Chuck Schumer renewed his party’s request that the trial include new witnesses and documents not available for the House impeachment proceedings.

“What is the president hiding? What is he afraid of?’’ Schumer said.

“The gravity of these charges is self-evident,” he said. “The House of Representatives have accused the president of trying to shake down a foreign leader for personal gain.”

The president has suggested recently that he would be open to a quick vote to simply dismiss the charges, but sufficient Republican support is lacking for that. Still, an eventual vote to acquit Trump is considered highly likely.

On Wednesday, in a dramatic procession across the U.S. Capitol, House Democrats carried the charges to the Senate.

“Today we will make history,″ Pelosi said as she signed the documents, using multiple pens to hand out and mark the moment. “This president will be held accountable.”

Moments later the prosecutors walked solemnly through the stately hall, filing into the Senate back row as the clerk of the House announced the arrival: “The House has passed House Resolution 798, a resolution appointing and authorizing managers of the impeachment trial of Donald John Trump, president of United States.”

Opening arguments are to begin next Tuesday after the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.

Earlier Wednesday, the House voted 228-193, almost entirely along party lines, ending a weeks-long delay to deliver the charges with a tally reflecting the nation’s split.

The top Republican in the House, Kevin McCarthy of California, said Americans will look back on this “sad saga” that tried to remove the president from office with the “weakest case.”

The president’s team expects acquittal with a Senate trial lasting no more than two weeks, according to senior administration officials. That would be far shorter than the trial of President Bill Clinton, in 1999, or the first one, of President Andrew Johnson, in 1868. Both were acquitted.

The seven-member prosecution team is led by the chairmen of the House impeachment proceedings, Reps. Adam Schiff of the Intelligence Committee and Jerrold Nadler of the Judiciary Committee, two of Pelosi’s top lieutenants.

On Wednesday, Schiff released new records from Lev Parnas, an associate of Trump lawyer Rudy Giuliani, about the Ukraine strategy, including an exchange with another man about surveilling later-fired U.S. Ambassador Marie Yovanovitch.

Foreign Affairs / Official ISIS Newspaper ‘thanks God’ For Trump Killing Iran’s General Soleimani by CaptainMeks: 9:37pm On Jan 16, 2020
It was only a matter of time before US President Donald Trump got the recognition he deserved for America’s military exploits these past two weeks. Yesterday, Trump received glowing praise from the official international ISIS newspaper, Al Naba, highlighting Washington’s assassination of Iranian IRGC’s General Qasem Soleimani on January 3rd.

by Patrick Henningsen | 21stCenturyWire

In an ideal world, this latest endorsement by ISIS for Trump’s actions should really put to rest the well-worn Washington and Israeli propaganda talking point that Soleimani was an “evil and deadly terrorist.” Unfortunately, the current American political discourse is so thoroughly coated in layers of political fiction that this might take a while to sink in.

One only has to take a cursory look at reports over the last few years to quickly realise exactly how valuable the Iranian military and its celebrated general were in the global war on terror. Yet, this reality is mostly lost on US war hawks and America’s Conservative punditry class.

In her recent reporting, BBC Monitoring editor Mimi Al-Lami described how Islamic State terrorists are now “thanking God,” that the US and Iran are busy targeting each other, and “indifferent to the impact it has on their mutual fight against the Islamic State.”

The inconvenient fact that Soleimani was actually leading the fight against ISIS in Iraq and Syria between 2014 and 2018, has been carefully airbrushed from most US media coverage and commentary. But this wasn’t always the case. Even leading pro-war outlets like CNN admitted as far back as 2015 how US military officials acknowledged the pivotal leadership role played by the Iranian Quds Force commander – which helped turn the tide against the deadly terrorist wave.

Retired US Army General and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, Martin Dempsey, also praised Iran and Soleimani’s role in the fight against ISIS in Iraq and in particular, in the Battle of Tikrik, calling it ‘a positive step’. Newsweek said at the time, “without Iranian assistance and Soleimani’s guidance, the offensive on Tikrit may not have been possible.”

US Army Lt. Col. Robert Maginnis reiterated the praise for Soleimani back in November 2014, explaining, “The fighting that’s going on now in Iraq [against Islamic state] quite frankly has been led by General Soleimani, the Quds Force out of Tehran.”

In this longer version of the Robert Gates interview from 2016, he perfectly expresses the cynical US attitude towards ISIS: He doesn't like it, but he instinctively can't allow Iran to claim victory. Who does he credit for this line of thinking? Benjamin Netanyahu.

Another example of when western media used to admit Soleimani fought ISIS

Lt. Col. Robert Maginnis in Nov 2014: "The fighting that's going on now in Iraq [against Islamic state] quite frankly has been led by General Soleimani, the Quds Force out of Tehran."

Despite all of this, the rabid calls for military intervention dominate the Beltway’s bellicose conversation. Behind Trump and US Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, are perennial Republican hawks like Sens. Lindsey Graham (R-SC), Marco Rubio (R-FL), Tom Cotton (R-AR) and Ben Sasse (R-NE), all of whom have been crowing endlessly about their seemingly great acheivement following the US drone attack which was carried out near Baghdad International Airport on Friday January 3rd. Their narrative is all but baked into any commentary after the fact, mainly to somehow justify what the White House has just done. The reclassification of Soleimani as a “terrorist” – and not someone who was instrumental in fighting terrorism, is perhaps one of Washington’s great propaganda successes of recent years.

Now with Soleimani out of the way, ISIS thanked the United States for eliminating one of its most feared adversaries. BBC’s Al-Lami adds:

“It welcomes IS enemies being busy fighting each other, saying it distracts them away from “Muslims” and drains their energy which, it adds, benefits jihadists.”

“The killing of Soleimani “has created changes in the path of the Crusader campaign against the Islamic State and its soldiers, which we believe is part of God’s support for His patient mujahidin.”

Coming to grips with the actual reality on the ground in the region may be out of the scope of understanding of American neoconservative war hawks, who generally view the Middle East in terms of binary and sectarian paradigms like Israel vs Muslims, or Shia vs Sunni. Hence, it may take a while longer before any of this can filter through into the collective consciousness of a highly propagandized 21st century American society. For Trump’s MAGA cult followers, this cold reality will be even more difficult to grasp, and may never penetrate this group’s membrane of cognitive dissonance.

The loss of Soleimani in the war on terror was echoed by Rev Ibrahim Nseir, a pastor and leading Christian voice in the Middle East from the Arab Evangelical Presbyterian Church of Aleppo, who said, “All what Qassem Soleimani did was stand up for Christians against ISIS and Al Qaeda.”

@HadiNasrallah
“All what Qassem Soleimani did was stand up for Christians against ISIS and Al Qaeda”

A mass was held in the evangelical church of Aleppo, Syria to honor the martyrdom of General Soleimani who had an essential role in the liberation battle of Aleppo against US-backed Jihadists.

Based on the terrorist group’s recent statement, General Qasem Soleimani was certainly regarded a mortal enemy of ISIS and al Qaeda in the Middle East, and will no doubt be remembered throughout the region as a key figure in the battle to push back radical jihadist terror.

If ISIS does reemerge, then there’s a risk that residents of the region may also remember Donald Trump’s double assassination of Iran’s General Qassem Soleimani and the Iraqi military’s PMU commander, Abu Mahdi al Mouhendis – for what it truly was, a gift to global terrorism.

Let’s hope the region can eventually overcome these reoccurring pestilences.

Foreign Affairs / Pompeo Again Fails To Present Proof Of 'imminent' Threat That Led To Strike by CaptainMeks: 9:29pm On Jan 07, 2020
Washington (CNN)Secretary of State Mike Pompeo on Tuesday defended the basis for killing Iranian General Qasem Soleimani because of the threat of an imminent strike but declined to present any evidence, saying President Donald Trump's decision was "entirely legal."

"There's been much made about this question of intelligence and imminence," Pompeo said at the State Department. "Any time a president makes a decision of this magnitude, there are multitude pieces of information that come before him."
"It's the right decision, we got it right, the Department of Defense did excellent work," he said, adding that it was an "entirely legal decision."

Iranian foreign minister accuses US of 'state terrorism' as country's parliament votes to designate US forces as 'terrorists'
Pompeo made his remarks as questions continue to mount about the justification for the strike as well as the administration's overall level of strategic planning for the fallout from killing the second most powerful man in Iran.
Pompeo spoke a day after the Pentagon issued contradictory and confusing signals about whether US troops would be pulled from Iraq and Trump doubled down on his threats to strike Iranian cultural sites -- an international war crime that Pompeo had earlier tried to deny the President had said at all.
His appearance Tuesday failed to clear up lingering uncertainty or quell calls for more information.
Questions
The top Democrat on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee called on the Trump administration Tuesday to release the intelligence behind last week's strike so that the American people can decide whether the provocative action was justified.
Sen. Bob Menendez of New Jersey, along with Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, is pushing for the declassification of Trump's formal notification to Congress over Soleimani's killing, which has sparked a dangerous escalation between the two longtime foes.
Several sources have told CNN that the notification was brief, contained few operational details and essentially laid out the President's authorities to carry out the strike. That lack of detail has fueled questions about why it was classified to begin with, and administration officials have repeatedly publicly declined to provide the evidence behind the strike.

On Tuesday, Pompeo told reporters that senior officials presented Trump with the threats posed by Soleimani "in broad detail."
The top US diplomat didn't offer any evidence of an imminent threat, required to legally justify the strike, but instead referred to past events that he said Soleimani was responsible for. The Washington Post has reported that Pompeo had been lobbying Trump for months to kill Soleimani.
"We could see clearly everything Soleimani has done," Pompeo said, pointing to Iran's influence in Lebanon and other countries in the region where he said Tehran has denied people "sovereignty and freedom."

"If you're looking for imminence you need only look at the days that led up to the strike that was taken against Soleimani," Pompeo said, referencing the death of an American contractor in late December. He said the action against Soleimani "fit perfectly within our strategy" for countering Iran.

Pompeo mocked statements by Iraqi and Iranian officials that Soleimani had gone to Baghdad on a diplomatic mission, saying it "wasn't true."
Iraqi Prime Minister Adil Abdul-Mahdi told the Iraqi parliament that Soleiman had traveled to Baghdad to discuss and coordinate a de-escalation of tensions with Saudi Arabia. Iranian Foreign Minister Javad Zarif told CNN Soleiman's mission had been diplomatic in a Tuesday interview with CNN.

Pompeo ridiculed the idea. "Anybody here believe that?" he asked facetiously during the press conference with reporters at the State Department. "Is there any history that would indicate it was remotely possible that this kind gentleman, this diplomat of great order, Qasem Soleimani had traveled to Baghdad for the idea of conducting a peace mission?"

Pompeo went on to say, without presenting evidence, that "we know that wasn't true. We not only know the history, we know in that moment that was not true. Zarif is a propogandist of the first order."
"I know there has been some story that he was there representing a Saudi peace deal," Pompeo said, characterizing the mission in terms that neither Iran nor Iraq have used. Though Soleimani wasn't able to conduct this outreach, Pompeo offered what he said was the Saudi perspective on the alleged diplomatic mission and what it meant to Americans, as opposed to Saudis.

"I can assure you that they share my view that he was not there representing some kind of agreement that would reduce risk or reduce the risk to lives of Americans when he was on that trip," Pompeo said.
Pompeo also continued to sidestep the President's threats to destroy Iranian cultural sites, arguing that "every action" the US takes "will be consistent with the international rule of law."

The top US diplomat claimed that his comments are consistent with Trump's, despite the fact that the President has doubled down on his threat to strike Iranian cultural sites, which would be a war crime.
'What are they afraid of?'
Instead, Pompeo deflected the blame to Iran itself and accused the Ayatollah of having "done damage to the Persian culture."
Pompeo later took to Twitter to continue his attack.

"No one has damaged Persian culture more than the Islamic Republic," Pompeo wrote, alleging bans on dancing and a lack of religious tolerance. "Iran's regime has defiled everything Iranians hold dear."

Pompeo was also asked about Zarif's claims that the US has denied him a visa to speak at a United Nations Security Council meeting set for Thursday. In an interview with NPR, Zarif said he had requested the visa 25 days ago, but the US State Department told him it "didn't have enough time to issue a visa."
"We don't comment on visa matters for those traveling to the United States," Pompeo said, but added that "we will always comply with our obligations" under the UN charter.
When asked by CNN's Fred Pleitgen about his reaction to being denied the visa, Zarif answered with a laugh, "Well, what are they afraid of?" When pushed as to whether he was concerned about it, Zarif said, "no."

Crime / Arinze Micheal Ozor: US Attorney Sues Nigerian Involved In $1m Online Scam by CaptainMeks: 6:44pm On Jan 07, 2020

UNITED State (U.S)–based Nigerian, Arinze Micheal Ozor, has been charged for money laundering conspiracy of nearly $1 million.

Ozor had pleaded guilty to the charge, having been accused of using fake passports to facilitate the act, the US officials said in a statement.

Aged 36, Ozor, used at least two passwords to open a “drop account” and raked over $976,000 from compromised business email and put it in those accounts, the U.S Attorney’s Office for the District of Maryland said.

In a report by the Voice of America, VOA, Ozor used a Ghanaian passport to open five bank accounts and a Beninese passport to open three additional accounts.

Subsequently, the heisted funds were sent to other suspects involved in the schemes.

The U.S-based Nigerian is expected to be sentenced in May, and could spend up to 10 years in prison, the VOA reported.

However, there was no recorded opinion of the attorney representing Ozor, The Baltimore Sun reported.

In 2019, the United States Department of Justice recorded a massive international fraud and money laundering conspiracy which indicted over 80 defendants, mostly Nigerians.

“The indictment alleges that the 80 defendants and others used various online fraud schemes – including business email compromise (BEC) frauds, romance scams, and schemes targeting the elderly – to defraud victims out of millions of dollars,” the report stated.

In August 2019, the Federal Bureau of Investigation, FBI had arrested Forbes under 30 influential Nigerian, Obinwanne Okeke popularly known as Invictus Obi.

Obi was apprehended for money laundering to the tune $12m fraud.

In September 2019, seven Nigerian nationals were charged in connection with their roles in expansive online fraud schemes targeting individuals and businesses in the US.

In November 2019, Olu Victor Alonge, alongside six other Nigerians, were sentenced for their role in a multi-year wire fraud scheme that targeted users of American dating websites, inciting a total loss of $1,835,279.

Foreign Affairs / The Reason Qassem Soleimani Was In Baghdad Shows How Complex The Iran Crisis Is by CaptainMeks: 5:08pm On Jan 07, 2020
As part of the incendiary and escalating crisis surrounding the assassination of Qassem Soleimani, there has come an explanation of why the Iranian commander was actually in Baghdad when he was targeted by a US missile strike.

Iraq’s prime minister revealed that he was due to be meeting the Iranian commander to discuss moves being made to ease the confrontation between Shia Iran and Sunni Saudi Arabia – the crux of so much of strife in the Middle East and beyond.

Adil Abdul-Mahdi was quite clear: “I was supposed to meet him in the morning the day he was killed, he came to deliver a message from Iran in response to the message we had delivered from the Saudis to Iran.”

The prime minister also disclosed that Donald Trump had called him to ask him to mediate following the attack on the US embassy in Baghdad. According to Iraqi officials contact was made with a number of militias as well as figures in Tehran. The siege of the embassy was lifted and the US president personally thanked Abdul-Mahdi for his help.

There was nothing to suggest to the Iraqis that it was unsafe for Soleimani to travel to Baghdad – quite the contrary. This suggests that Trump helped lure the Iranian commander to a place where he could be killed. It is possible that the president was unaware of the crucial role that Soleimani was playing in the attempted rapprochement with the Saudis. Or that he knew but did not care.

One may even say that it is not in the interest of a president who puts so much emphasis on American arms exports, and whose first official trip after coming to office was a weapons-selling trip to Saudi Arabia – during which he railed against Iran – to have peace break out between the Iranians and the kingdom. But that would be far too cynical a thought.

Abdul-Mahdi spoke of his disappointment that while Trump was expressing his gratitude over the mediation, he was also simultaneously planning an attack on Soleimani. That attack took place not long after the telephone call from the president.

There is also the possibility that the US military planners knew nothing about the conversations between Trump and Abdul-Mahdi, and took out Soleimani when the opportunity presented itself.

There may be credence to this, if one follows the narrative which is emerging from defence and intelligence officials in Washington: that the assassination option presented to Trump was bound to be refused, as it had been by his predecessors in the White House. And that there was a desperate scramble to track down Soleimani when, much to their shock, Trump ordered the hit.

What does the Iran crisis mean for Trump’s impeachment?

The existence of the talks between the Saudi and the Iranians and, more importantly, the threat of impending violence, has meant reaction in Riyadh at the killing has been markedly muted.

Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, not a stranger to sabre rattling, has sent his younger brother, deputy defence minister Khalid bin Salman, to Washington to urge restraint.

The very real risk of the region becoming a arena for conflict has led to rare cooperation in the stand-off between the Saudi-led Gulf block and Qatar, whose foreign minister was dispatched to Tehran with a similar appeal for calm.

In Tehran, Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani met with Iranian president Hassan Rouhani to discuss “measures to maintain the security and stability of the region,” the state-run Qatar News Agency reported. While in the UAE the foreign minister, Anwar Gargash, called for “rational engagement”, tweeting: “wisdom and balance must prevail.”

As well as being in danger of getting caught in the crossfire of a war between the US and Iran, the Arab states in the region are vulnerable to Tehran’s allied militias – in Lebanon, Yemen, Iraq and Syria. There is concern whether the US, after unleashing a wave of missiles, would do anything when retribution is taken on its partner countries.

The Saudis learned only too clearly last summer that one cannot always depend on American commitment, when drone and missile attacks on oil-processing facilities in the kingdom halved oil production. Trump directly blamed Iran for the attacks but there was no American military response, just as there has not been to the many attacks on the kingdom from the Houthis in Yemen.

In the light of all this Khalid al-Dakhil, a Saudi political sociologist, pointed out: “Saudi Arabia and all the Gulf countries are just quiet. They don’t want to antagonise the Iranians, because the situation in the region is so delicate, so divided, so sensitive, that you don’t want to stir it up further.”

Robert Emerson, a British security analyst, said that it was clear why caution was prevailing. “You don’t know whether Trump will just light the blue touchpaper and then just disappear,” he said. “The Arab states are right to be wary. The talk about Iran and Saudi negotiations is intriguing, further details should be emerging.’’

The Trump administration continues to insist that Soleimani was killed because he was about to launch an imminent terror campaign, without providing any evidence for the assertion. There is increasing scepticism about the claim and the questions are not going to go away. There are too many memories of Saddam Hussein and his non-existent WMD arsenal. The repercussions from the assassination in Baghdad will continue for a very long time.

Foreign Affairs / Soleimani’s Daughter Warns US Soldiers Await Death As Revenge Against Trump. by CaptainMeks: 10:33pm On Jan 06, 2020

The daughter of slain Iranian terrorist Gen. Qasem Soleimani has issued a threat to US soldiers and their families, warning they will soon face death as revenge against "crazy Trump" for her father's death. In remarks at her father’s funeral on Monday, Zeinab Soleimani warned the families of American soldiers that their loved ones would soon die.General Soleimani was the head of Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps’ (IRGC) Quds Forces, a designated terrorist group. The international chapter of the IRGC is tasked with expanding Iranian imperialism throughout the world by plotting terror attacks. The group greatly expanded its reach in neighboring countries like Syria, Yemen, and Lebanon under Soleimani, and it is believed to have built up hundreds of terrorist networks in Latin America. Soleimani was held responsible for the deaths of hundreds of Americans.

President Donald Trump ordered an airstrike in Iraq last week that eliminated Soleimani alongside Abu Mahdi al-Muhandis, the founder of the Hezbollah Brigades. The Hezbollah Brigades is a jihadist militia that has been legally integrated into the Iraqi armed forces, according to Breitbart. The Hezbollah Brigades is one of dozens of militias forming the Popular Mobilization Forces (PMF), a coalition of largely Shiite, pro-Iranian groups that formed initially to fight the Islamic State. After the demise of ISIS in its largest Iraqi stronghold, Mosul, the PMF began redirecting its efforts against the U.S. presence in the country, despite previously sharing a common enemy. The Iranian regime organized a funeral for Soleimani on Monday in which it forced thousands of people out into the streets to demand vengeance. Zeinab Soleimani spoke on behalf of her family

“The US and Zionism must know that my father’s martyrdom will further awaken people in the axis of resistance and will tear down their spider nests,” Zeinab Soleimani said, according to the Iranian news agency Tasnim.“She also warned that the families of American troops in West Asia, who have witnessed the US’ humiliation in Syria, Iraq, Palestine, and Yemen, will be awaiting the news of death of their children,” Tasnim relayed. Tasnim reported that she then listed a host of terrorist group leaders who could help in killing Americans to avenge her father: “Secretary-General of Lebanon’s Hezbollah resistance movement Seyed Hassan Nasrallah, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, Palestinian Islamic Jihad leader Ziyad al-Nakhalah, or Leader of Yemen’s Houthi Ansarullah movement Abdul-Malik Badreddin al-Houthi.”

Tasnim left out some of her remarks against Trump. As translated by Saudi news network al-Arabiya, Soleimani warned, “Crazy Trump, don’t think that everything is over with my father’s martyrdom.”The Tehran Times added more parts of her speech that Iranian state media did not relay in their English coverage.

“Trump, the gambler! Your vicious plots to divide Iran and Iraq have created a historic bond between the two nations,” she reportedly said. “Mr. Trump, the gambler! Families of American soldiers must spend their days waiting for their deaths and corpses.”“Qassem Soleimani’s name now shakes Zionism, Takfiris, and hegemons,” she noted.

Soleimani’s state-mandated funeral featured Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei publically sobbing over his coffin and crowds chanting “death to infidels” and “death to al-Saud,” the ruling royal family of Saudi Arabia, suggesting the regime believes that Riyadh was involved in the American airstrike. Iranian state media also published outraged editorials claiming Soleimani had been a peaceful leader and that the United States was lying about the extensive evidence that Soleimani organized a mob attack on the U.S. embassy in Baghdad shortly before the new year or that he had planned similar subsequent attacks. In one of the most hysterical columns published, an Iranian media writer accused “Evangelical Christian fascist [Vice President] Mike Pence” of lying about Soleimani’s ties to the September 11, 2001, jihadist attacks, which the author described as “the mother of all false flag attacks,” implying Washington attacked the World Trade Center itself.

Pence said in a series of posts on Twitter this weekend that Soleimani was personally responsible for helping several of the September 11 jihadists with the documentation necessary to enter the United States.

As head of the Quds Force, Soleimani was responsible for killing hundreds of American soldiers and thousands, including civilians, throughout the Middle East. Soleimani was a key strategist aiding dictator Bashar al-Assad in the Syrian Civil War, so prominently known for helping Assad attack civilians that locals in rebel-held Idlib handed out sweets to celebrate his death following the American airstrike.Similar celebrations occurred in Iraq, where Soleimani had been deployed to help the government kill and repress protesters concerned about the Iranian colonization of their country.President Trump explained his decision to eliminate Soleimani in remarks Friday, saying it was necessary “to stop a war” that would have occurred if Soleimani were allowed to execute his attacks on American targets.

Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, who shared images online shortly after Soleimani’s demise of Iraqis cheering in the streets, similarly asserted that the strike was necessary because Soleimani had planned attacks on American targets."Soleimani, the terrorist, was engaged in active plotting,” Pompeo said on Friday."There was an attack that was imminent that could have killed dozens or hundreds of Americans."We found an opportunity and we delivered."

Mr Muslim, use your head. The US government is doing something to stop the shootings. What is corrupt and deceptive buhari doing to stop the killing of Christians in Nigeria? Answer that question instead of commenting like you are blinded by religion.

Can you mention just one thing the USA is doing to stop the shootings? The people in power are Republicans and they are 100% behind gun ownership and have refused to push for Gun control. So name just one thing that they are doing to bring it under control. I am waiting.
