Thanks 4 ur response
Why I said friendly is this; when you get to some banks, they tell the minimum is #1million and try to discourage you from investing in TBills. Probably because they are not really gaining anything from it.
Oh...ok. I understand your point. That's true. They encourage you to invest in fixed deposits instead. I don't think any of them is friendly towards T.Bills. You just have to show them you know what you want.

True. I can personally relate to the picture of the woman being in control as seen by the outsiders who don't know what's going on in the house themselves. Just because the man is truly in love with her. Some will even say you're using juju on the man. Rotfl grin

I only question the use of such words as 'control' by the woman herself. But I've read their explanations to what they mean. It all makes sense.
Exactly. When a man in Africa shows too much love to his woman, it's wrongly termed as being under the influence of 'juju' because it appears the woman is controlling him. There is something wonderful that woman is doing to that man. It could even be as petty as food or sexual games.

Well I'd have loved to hear them kind of explain that part themselves.

Chidoks I don't know but caracta I've known a while and her opinions on issues are usually on point. So let me not start misunderstanding her now.
Freecocoa got me right. Not like you turn him into a zombie but understanding his buttons well.

Don't you think that in a loving relationship, a man also knows the 'buttons' to press to get his wife to agree with him? Or see his POV?
Exactly. And it turns out well for the two.
FamilyRe: Submission In Marriage by Caracta(f): 2:44pm On Aug 16, 2015
@freecocoa, are you saying each time we say NO, we are not being submissive?
FamilyRe: Submission In Marriage by Caracta(f): 2:41pm On Aug 16, 2015
bukatyne:
And why do you want to run a man/ be in control?
Not be in control per se but be in sync with your spouse. Not like you turn him into a zombie. The same way we understand our parents so well and know what to do when we are broke in school. You know the right button to press. Doesn't mean you are in control.

You've just hit the hammer on the head! The moment you let the man know he's the boss, hmnnnnn.you will be in control but he won't even know.nothing appeals to a man like meekness and respect.this is the ticket to stress free marriage
I agree. There is a way you can 'run' a man and he wouldn't even know what you are doing to him. Women always underestimate the power they have.

And this is the point, no one christian or not, can submit to anyone without having to do what the other wants at all times, how many christians do you know that do exactly what the bible/God instructs?
I disagree at the emboldened. Submission isn't saying YES to everything. It's saying NO humbly and respectfully encouraging your partner to see from your own perspective. We can't say YES to everyone and everything. We all have minds of our own and we are all different in a unique way.

We just need to learn to accommodate and understand one another.

You are still welcome. I just saw a lot of 'submission' = slavery i wanted to correct
Yeah. I'm not a feminist, feminazi, neither do I cringe at the word 'submission'.

Nice thread btw.
FamilyRe: Submission In Marriage by Caracta(f): 2:15pm On Aug 16, 2015
This thread is mainly for single 'feminists', 'feminazis' and ladies who cringe at the word submission.
Oh...how did I miss this part?

Have fun ladies cheesy
FamilyRe: Submission In Marriage by Caracta(f): 2:13pm On Aug 16, 2015
You have to be humble before you can be submissive.

Over the years, submission has been re-defined. You abuse your spouse and expect submission. You expect him/her to shiver at your presence and worship you. Submission is not fear. This is where the mix-up lies.

From love to humility to submission. Not fear.

Where is Caracta...it's been a while. I would love to see her comment on this issue as well.

And MizMyColi...do you also hold same view as the OP?
Errrm...I've not read the comments so I hope I'm not out of point.

Personally, I am not a great fan of obligations or depending on people for material benefits. A boyfriend has no obligation towards his girlfriend and vice versa. He owes her nothing. However, because of the love factor, he is drawn towards offering some assistance and support, both financially and non-financially. It comes naturally...just as you would assist anyone you love (family members and friends inclusive). I can't see someone I love in need and turn a blind eye. Never.

It is not a sin if a boyfriend fails to offer any form of assistance. It's his choice. It is not the girls right or heavenly possession. Love leads. You don't need to beg or ask. It comes naturally. He gives without whining or crying about it on NL two days after tongue

For married couples, it is the man's RESPONSIBILITY to provide for his family (wife and children). He is under that obligation. The wife has the right to demand REASONABLY because the man promised to take care of her under the marriage oath, except otherwise.

Sile12:
Staff (NASU, SSANU, NAT) and students of Adeyemi Federal University of Education, ondo, came out in mass today, 12th August, 2015 to protest the Federal Government’s purported plan to return the university to its former status of a college of education. The protest caused a gridlock on the Ondo-Oka/Ore road as commuters were stranded for about an hour.

Haaa!! It is well....i bet family members aren't local either. Caracta, abeg e b like say you go drop by again to see if you can plead with the neighbours to help us with Tomiwa's routine. E jo ma!!!
Actually, Tomiwa is one strong kid. When I called his mum this morning, I heard voices and all that...lot of struggling with Tomiwa crying seriously. I asked her what the problem was and she said it was the eyedrop issue.

The woman is pregnant. If we don't want Tomiwa to kick the baby out, we may have to change approach. Maybe sweet-talking is better.

I really feel for the boy. He is probably getting tired of all the eye drops, tests and medications.
