Sile12:Pliny, the Younger was only 17 when it happened. Poor boy. ![]() He said they covered their heads with pillows and all that. My question is, apart from the bodies covered with ash that hardened and preserved the outlines of their bodies, were there survivors. Like real survivors like the ones in Titanic. Pliny doesn't count as he was only an eye witness. His uncle would have survived but he died from suffocation too. Was there any, "I was there, but miraculously saved and I didn't suffer from asphyxiation" person? Just curious. |
I've always found the history of Pompei interesting. Such a beautiful city went down in less than 24 hours if I'm right. Seriously no escape, even if you own a private jet to fly you out. I read there were survivors. |
Mynd44:Yeah right. |
@Asito, you need to see how I'm blushing in different shades and colours this odd hour. What can I say? THANK YOU! I'll hold those words dear to my heart. Thank you so much. |
lomomike:Rest as much as you can. That helped me. And I stopped getting worried about many things. I simply LIVE. I had to stop socializing too so I could have ME-time. I was selfish with my time and stayed away from social media. Sleep and movies became my companion. It's simple. Just live...and watch things fall in place. I'm not there yet but it's only a matter of time. |
South African preachers are out of this world. Wonder how gullible their followers are. It's either they are fed with snakes, hair or sperm. Are they all crazy or under a spell? |
kalufelix:Scan all your certificates and save them on your email, phones, gadgets, whatever. If you laminate, the security features can't be accessed again. Watermarks can't be read, thickness can't be verified, the seal flattens. Even in the process of laminating, anything could go wrong and destroy your original certificate or render it invalid due to alterations. I don't have any laminated certificate. And all my certificates are as good as new. |
Not a good thing to do. File them in waterproof files or folders. |
This is bullshit! |
1. Nope. You are dead. 2. Son (that's if you have one brother) or Nephew (if you have another brother) 3. Friday |
He married a teenager too. Gross! Poor girl. Imagine this old creature all over your body. I don't believe he takes good care of them. Who is he? Bill Gates? |
Lol. I need to understand what is holding you guys back. Channel this energy towards UN and ICJ's support. The noise doesn't speak well of your group. You keep whining like a lost child. Let us see some action. Jeez! |
Deep words and analysis. I'm with you on this Fayose. Your salary could be 700k but at least you made us understand that there are many paths to the river. The allowances and chop chop could amount to 10 times the salary. And that defeats the sacrifice. Enough of the noise. Let the work begin. With the IGG (initial gra gra) of APC before election, one would think the problems of Nigeria would disappear into thin air. I still have faith in the present government even though we bought their Red Sea approach. Where is the Promised Land, Moses Buhari? We have tarried too long on this mountain? |
As it is, someone suggested GH Marina. We need medical reports to tell us Tomiwa can see again. Please help as much as you can. Share this message. Pray for the boy. Volunteer. Support. Don't just read and ignore. Yes, you have your own needs too. You need someone. Tomiwa needs you. Plant a seed. Let it be said of you, that you took a blind boy off the street. Don't do nothing when you could have done something. HAPPY SUNDAY! |
Funjosh:Amen. And you too. |
GogetterMD:Thank you. I appreciate. Over to you tearoses. @1miccza, amen. Thank you. |
GogetterMD:Yes. Bilateral. Different times. |
GogetterMD:They stay around LASU in Lagos. They returned to LUTH after the surgery to complain but according to the mum, the nurses scared them away with the bills. And since they didn't even pay for the surgery in the first place, they couldn't question the hospital. |
I'm waiting for you to include Bankers and Marketers in Nigeria especially. |
GogetterMD:The head shaking/movement is horizontal. The previous surgery was held at LUTH. The father could not remember the initial diagnosis. He only mentioned water and something that sounded like glaucoma or something coccus but he wasn't sure. He is not too literate and he said he wasn't bothered about the diagnosis then, he only wanted his son to see again. No document from LUTH except the prescriptions and patient's card. |
How can you treat your child like a goat? That arm is too fragile for the rope. It could hurt him. |
jaybee3:Thank you. |
9jatatafo:Thanks. Is it the same as Maxi Specialist Eye Clinic? |
I appeal to you all to please help this boy. He is too young to suffer like this. TEHN, what do you say? ![]() |

9jatatafo:The name of the eye clinic please. |
I visited the boy today. The parents are quite young. The father should be in late 30s and the mother in early 30s or mid. Mother of the boy is pregnant and expecting another child in few months (maybe twins, maybe not). They (father, mother, the boy, two daughters) all live in a one-room apartment. The only furniture seems to be the bed, benches and the stool i sat on. Sisters of the boy are 6 and 5 years old. The boy himself is 4. Father is into laundry and house-keeping, mother is a tailor in the same apartment. Her machine stood lonely at a corner. Now to the boy. The story began when she the boy was about 2-months old and the mother noticed somthing like rashes around one of the eye. At 6 months, he was taken to the maternity clinic for checkup. At 9 months, he was taken to a hospital & was referred to somwhere else. According to them, the doctor said it was caused by water. Both eyes were swollen then and the boy could not see a thing. Surgery was recommended. A good samaritan they do not know up till now, paid for the surgery. After the operation, the swelling stopped but the boy couldn't see. That was September 2012 till January 2013. Till then, no visit to the hospital because of financial constraints. I did not see the test results as they said they were not given at the hospital because it was presented to the good samaritan, or something along that line. I noticed the boy got along well with his parents and siblings. He was active. He could recite the alphabets and numbers. I was made to understand that his sisters teach him at home. He is very sharp and sings many of the songs heard on Radio. I took a closer look at his eyes. Both eyes have different colours. One was brownish, the other was bluish. I was told the eyes get itchy sometimes. The most disturbing part is that, this boy shakes his head all the time, almost non-stop. I asked his parents and they said he has always been that way. That the doctor said it's because he wants to get rid of whatever is blocking his eyes. Please imagine a 4-year-old blind boy shaking his head almost non-stop. I have pictures taken at the scene but i will post them at the permission of tearoses. If you have questions, please ask. This is just the summary of my visit. |
