She played okay. Defended pretty good even though there were a couple slip ups. I wish she shot the ball more but I guess she was going with the flow of the game. The refs used her to shine a bit with the fouls but that was just because she is a new player to the league. All together it was a good first outing
...nice one..hope she has enough time to show what she bring to the table...wish her all the best..

I got banned by the anti spam bot early yesterday while trying to respond to Carbonado. This is the third time it's happening to me and it occurs almost always on this thread. Not sure why that is.

That said, to your earlier comment, Chicago wasn't tanking like you said, they wanted to make the playoffs cause there was little to no incentive vying for a lottery spot.

They are not getting Paige. First, LA Sparks is more likely to get the no 1 pick because of their 2 year record.

Also, should Chicago by some miracle get the no 1 lottery, Dallas owns the swap right to thier pick. It's why they were trying all they could including playing a injured Kamila just to make it.

Glad Ezinne made her Debut. She didn't do badly in my opinion.

Sorry about the ban....i knew someone got banned, but i could not tell who it was, i thought it was redman44 that got banned, as regards Chicago, i do not even know they had all that trade deals and all, anyway, i wish them well, the season was not so much of a good one to be honest, i kinda expected more, although injury to players like Elizabeth Williams, early off in the season and the coach not knowing her personel early in the season, its well. Good to know that about Ezinne, let see what happens from here on.

By the 2nd half they realized they were in the playoffs no matter what so they benched their starters.
...i see, what is your take on how she played....i saw the game highlight, however, i could not judge much based on the highlights.

Ezinne finally got in the game at the end of the 2nd quarter. Hopefully she gets more time in the 2nd half
..lol..slept off,I waited all first half and she was not introduced into the game, thought she was not going to play again for the day...

Took too damn long. If the Chicago front office weren't dummies, they would have signed her long time ago cause they literally need a PG like her. Hoping she gets some time on the floor and make the most of it.

... absolutely,it took too long, I have a feeling Chicago is deliberately tanking, word out there is that they can get Paige (UConn guard) cant remember her last name...there are some potential exciting Wnba rookies this year too. Maybe that's why they are deliberately tanking, also since they were hitted with lots of injuries, they just called it a wrap, hoping to get value in the draft class. Potential rookies(Page UConn,Flaujae :LSU, PaoPao South Carolina, Raven Johnson South Carolina ,don't know if Juju watkins would go into the draft...All in all,I am happy for Ezinne...so I have a new team in the W.. grin grin grin

The delayed payment of the Assistant Coach’s bonuses is squarely on the hands of the NOC, because Aso Rock had already released 12 billion Naira for Naija’s Olympic contingent

Chai but can be on the bench for multiple reasons sha. I feel like she could have made a difference for us. We didn't have enough bigs to keep up with France and the US
...she is not what she used to be, again, it understandable has she just gave birth coming into last season, which would mean, she wont have no off season work-out, despite that, she is still better than almost all our bigs, i catch their games on youtube....Landerneau of France.

Plenty things happened.

Reportedly had issues with the NBBF that led to her absence. Then she had injury issues. Then she got married. Then not good enough upon her return. She played with Amy at the same club in Europe last year or so and spent most of it on the bench.
she was on the bench early in the season because she just gave birth then, she got a lot more playing time has the season progressed.

...she is still active, however, she has retired from international basketball, she plays for a french team...she and Amy were on the same team last year, it also seem their head coach was one of our assistant coach at the olympics...

D'Tigress - Planning for the Future (2)

5. Nunu Agara: aged 19. Currently a forward at Stanford WBB. One to watch out for.

6. Kennedy Umeh: A freshman at Stanford WBB aged 18. She's a 6'4 center with high prospects. One to watch.

7. Shay Ijiwoye: A freshman at Stanford WBB aged 18. One to look out for.

8. Oyindamola Akinbolawa: a 6'5 forward that plays for Auburn WBB. One to watch out for.

NB: Both Nunu and Kennedy have represented USA basketball at age grade competitions before.
...we need Oluchi and Kiki like yesterday......Oluchi gives Ezinne vibes, works real hard on defence, can rebound for height.

We just seem to have bad leadership at many levels of governance and administration in Nigeria. Can't the NBBF look for sponsors like BUA Industries, Dangote Industries, Globacom etc and work with them to develop basketball in Nigeria? How much will it cost to construct basketball courts in public secondary schools in Nigeria? Great sponsors can pay for these basketball courts and release money to organize basketball Competitions at Secondary School level all over the country on a termly basis. Same for our universities and polytechnics. We can have a true and well funded Collegiate basketball league at different levels in Nigeria. Then talents will be fished out and supported to go and study in America ( Home of Basketball ) , Australia, Europe and Canada to sharpen their skills and get the exposure they need. From there, they can sign for clubs in these developed nations. We need a great PLAN.
...It is hard to get sponsors when all you do is fight amongst yourselves to the extent of holding the whole country ransom by not having a functioning league, it shouts of greed and unseriousness to a sponsor, even to players that grew up in countries that things work, they will just be wondering what in the world is going on..If you could influence your company to sponsor NBBF, however, you could not vouch for the next time they will fight amognst themselves, hereby taking themselves to court, which halts everything, will you do it, will you put your name on the line for them, especially, they way they have handled themselves for a few decades now...

Kiki Iriafen and Michaela have to really show interest in suiting up for Dtigress. If not, they can be overlooked and opportunities given to others. Both of them are already behaving like the Ogwumike Sisters who ended up not going to the Olympics in American Colours. We want players who really want to play for Nigeria. Look at Murjanatu and Ifunanya Okoro. The two of them moved from Nigerias local league to Europe. And they are blossoming. Pallas also moved from Abuja to the USA. Evelyn Akhator also moved from Nigeria to the USA. We need to start identifying the best players in our local leagues, invest in them and give them scholarships to American Colleges and Schools, Canadian Universities etc where they can improve their basketball talent by playing Collegiate basketball and then join clubs in these countries. We need a great PLAN. Thanks.
How are they behaving like the Ogwumikes and the Ogwumikes you accused appealed to play for Nigeria, however, it was turned down by FIBA, Rememeber we do not have a functioning league. The great plan you talk of is basically people in administration being dedicated and standing on bussiness bassically, pushing for the growth of the game, i cant speak of such dedication from NBBF. You can compare and contrast what NBBF is doing with what Deng is doing in South Sudans basketball.

These players were there in Tokyo and we lost all our games
...well,it is still the old squad that basically played at the olympics....Ezinne, Promise, Amy, Balogun, Pallas, Musa, Nicole....are all from the old squad.....THE new girls include Ebo,Adeyeye,Ejiofor,Taiwo,Okoro...i doubt if any of the new girls had more than 5 mins average per game and had up to 3 point average per game for the whole tournament...Some did not step on the floor at all during certain games..lovewins might help with the stats....

The bolded got me rolling 😂😂
Yeah, it was, at times, painful to watch how she was being shackled.

By the way, next year’s Afrobasket runs from July-August, right in the middle of the WNBA season. That might be an issue if the likes of Michaela and Kiki are called up for the tournament. I know Kiki still plays college basketball, but she would definitely be drafted into the WNBA next year
..we don't need both players to win Afrobasket actually..
They might not need to show up to for it...till world cup qualifying tournament.

D’Tigress of the Olympics will easily defend their Afrobasket title next year, winning every game.

But the team still needs quality depth because, aside from the sheer talent of Team USA, it was also a lack depth - especially good beyond the arc shooters - that cost the team that quarter final game.

I imagine that if the likes of Victoria Macaulay, Chidom, and Adaora Elonu were part of the Olympics, all the pressure wouldn’t have been on Ezinne to run the plays. And the likes of Amy and Pallas would have gotten enough rest in games, rather than playing 95% of the games.
let even say they do not want the old babes back, then, they should get solid post players that can stretch the floor,I honestly believe we should be able to punch 1 through 12.we have the talent pool to do so.. however,I think we can just do 1-6 or 7 for now.. hence,my position of a few positions are still open on this team..we also need another guard, young, high impact player like Ezinne to understudy her...

...well,it is obvious that Ezinne did a lot of heavy lifting for the team, they do not need to accept it, however,we all know that our team lacks depth, there is no big man to go to,let say 15 secs to go,just get the entry pass and get out the way,we do not have that..Noticed how it was only Pallas that got real playing time as a big. Noticed how the Americans were chasing Ezinne like she stole something from them..she still showed up, truth is,it was guard play that go us through...we need to consolidate with having potent bigs too..Left to me,there are still like 5 slots on that team for grab...
