Austine1213: Viacom is headquartered in south africa Yh. Cos as at 2005 SA was the only African country with the infrastructure to host such a company. But what I'm trying to make y'all understand is that Viacom was brought to Africa by a NIGERIAN and not MULTICHOICE. don't mix it up. |

Austine1213: More than 30 now
It is a premium store there as it anchors malls and shopping centers there.
Choice is largest in nigeria, 200m people but most retail in naija isnot formal Now Wikipedia links 31 different retail chains in Nigeria. And that list is defo. Not complete cos there are some I know that are missing there. The only reason why Nigeria's retail sector is still largely informal is because of our population. |

Austine1213: VCNI Africa includes the multimedia entertainment brands: MTV , MTV Base , VH1, VH1 Classic , Comedy Central , Nickelodeon , Nicktoons , Nick Jr. and BET.
MTV Networks Africa offices are located in Johannesburg, South Africa. Previously, the networks offices were located at MTV Networks Europe headquarters in London, United Kingdom.
Okosi spearhead it to be, but Multichoice brought it Bro. I've tried to believe this. But nothing online links Multichoice to MTV base. |

rvp20182: Fact-check failed on first try. Today, there are nine Justrite Mega Stores spread across Lagos and Ogun states, and we're still counting!
Just 9 justrite mega stores?
While Shoprite basically dominate your country formal retail.
Look at Kenya - even after Nakumatt demise - we have like 4-5 brand with 50 branches (Tuskys, Naivas,)
Our formal shopping is second only to South Africa.
Foreign-based supermarket chains Carrefour[2][3][4] Choppies Enterprises Kenya[5][6] Game Stores[7][8] Shoprite Kenya[9][10] Village Supermarket[11] Locally based supermarket chains Mulleys Supermarkets Budget Supermarkets Chandarana Supermarkets[12][13] Cleanshelf Supermarkets Eastmatt Supermarkets Ebrahim Supermarkets[14] G-Mart Supermarkets Jaharis Supermarkets JD's Supermarket Karrymatt Supermarkets[15] Kassmart Supermarkets[16] Maathai Supermarkets Maguna Andu Supermarkets Naivas Limited[17][18] Ng'ororgaa Supermarkets PakMatt Supermarket Quickmart Supermarkets[19] Rikana Supermarkets Selfridges Supermarkets Society Stores Supermarkets[20][21] Shoppers Supermarket StageMatt Supermarket Suntec Supermarkets Thika Tex Supermarkets Tumaini Self Service Limited[22][23] Tuskys[24] Uchumi Supermarkets[25] Ukwala Supermarkets Jatomy Supermarkets[26] LMAO! I see you brought the whole party. So what you're saying is NIGERIA doesn't have retail stores like shoprite asides just rite? CMON.... Read what you typed fam... Does it look sane? Why would I have to bore you with a very long list? So you believe shoprite with just over 20 stores would serve a country of 180m+? Bro... Sorry to say.... But you're the CIRCUS itself. |

Nigeria is not u united, has been struggling to coexist since the 60s independence Nigeria isn't united. It's general knowledge. It was never an holy union. Civility is the only thing holding the country together. And the reasons aren't far fetched. |

Alex Okosi (a Nigerian. OBVIOUSLY) brought MTV base, nickelodeon and Comedy Central to AFRICA through Viacom... He runs Viacom Africa operations. Bro... This is general knowledge TBH. |

Troy404: The funny thing is that all those brands above dominate their sectors in nigeria despite the fact they are from SA. So it means you are the biggest fools haha Lol. Minus pick 'n' pay, the rest are in Nigeria and are pretty big no doubt.... But you seem confused about my point. All those companies co-exist with OUR own businesses. Every single SA company has a big Nigerian rival fam. Shoprite >> Justrite Pep >> Ruff n tumble Mtn >> Glo Tiger >> the list on this one is endless. Multichoice >> Play TV. The only one with somewhat of a monopoly is Multichoice and this is In soccer airing rights. And just last week the government moved to correct this. So what are you still going on about bro? |

At least like dangote or Glomobile. Don't get it wrong. They might have black owned businesses doing big things but when you compare with the 'LandLords'.... Sheeesh. |

This is disgraceful. Is it that the black south African can't achieve anything standing alone? Maybe not. It has to do with their mindset. Everyone has the potential to be great... Really. Just the 'landlords' down there aren't giving me them the opportunities. And they've not developed the will to challenge the status quo. |

They can't believe MTV base is basically Nigerian and for Nigeria. In fact the first song played on MTV base was Tuface's African Queen. We have since moved on with the likes of SoundCity and HipHopTv which are even more popular in Nigeria now than MTV base. One thing I really dislike about South Africans is the entitlement syndrome they have in most of them.... It's innate. Where they feel every good thing from Africa HAS TO come from them. If you had seen their comments during the cardi b frenzy Bruuuhhh.... So much negative energy. Still waiting for their replies though. |

JaceBlaze: - Nigeria brought what to Africa?
- So Soundcity is the adversary of Channel O? how were they force feeding Africans SA music when SA music has always been on high demand throughout Africa since the 60's
- Channel O is a South African music channel so you must expect South African music there.Would one tune into Africa magic and expect SA movies to show there?
Thanks to SA's DStv that Soundcity even exists. LMAO! Don't come at me with so much heat fam. Just stating facts. Soundcity existed waaaay before they hopped on Dstv Bruhh.. And obviously you wouldn't see it as force feeding cos it's your music. . Africa Magic wasn't even originally Nigerian. Lastly, the bolded is extremely FUNNY! |

MTV base was brought to Africa by NIGERIA. Soundcity was a response to channel O that tried as hell to force feed Africans with SA music. And it has been very successful at that. |

He's known for his hilarious way if making trends. He's not even near 'up there' yet. The 'best rapper in Africa' term was the wave he rode on to gain popularity...and he still uses it. samorobo: Yes you do cos those genre is controlled by white and that is what they like to hear cos it's like their culture....
The few black that maybe into it have been forced into doing it mentally to praise, worship, idolize, reverence the holy unholy name of whites.. I've tried to get acquainted with different SA music genres just to know how It is.. And there's a lot of White dominated genres down there. That's the uncouth truth |
