Every car brand is OK for E-hailing. Never get it twisted... Every man has an opinion and stands by that which works for him.
As a fleet manager or transport investor, finding that which gives you optimum ROI against every factor that competes with returns is a sensible strategy.
But note, when e-hailing started, there were rules to the game and those rules made people purchase 2007 vehicles upwards and people still cashed out. When those set of rules were bent, then did we see the influx of low end Cars that still gave comfort, efficiency and reliability.
If back then I knew little of what I know now in this business I would have owned a mighty fleet. But then we all learn on the job and grow each day.
I have stood by it that the KIA RIO has proven to me to be the best option for this business but I will not rub it in any one face unless u ask my opinion. Every car will perform best to the way it is handled ...
I am a fan of the KIA brand and I can say a thing or two with facts.
I own a 2010 kia forte (cerato) in my fleet which I imported may 2017 and till date I haven't changed the shocks or experienced major over hauling
I own 3 kia rio in my fleet ... just one will be going for shocks replacement after 3months of usage.
Every part acquired for your vehicle has a life span which factors like driving style, good roads etc contributes to.
The argument of whether na 807 or Toyota is really not relevant ... over skill na wetin dey kill monkey.... Use that which you are comfortable with and enjoy it while it gives returns ....
don't cut corners on maintenance n repairs |

Impulse80: I honestly don't understand why you should have an axe to grind with someone if they choose to buy Peugeot 407 or 406 for their e-hailing business. Every businessman does what he feels is best for him, that is capitalism for you. As long as the cars live up to the hype and Uber/Taxify accepts it i don't see why the fuss.
On the "innovation" part I have just one thing to say: this is Nigeria. Why use a hammer to kill a fly?
The undertone of your writeup suggests that they profit from people buying those vehicles for partners. Either by a form of affiliate marketing or something else... If you know something, why not tell us what you know because from all the postings here Peugeot is a stable brand. Even GAZZUZZ has confirmed it. He confirmed that parts are relatively cheap |

All the shouting and arguing about which vehicle between Peugeot and Corolla works best boils down to
1. choice of the user 2. parts availability and cost 3. Resale value 4. Reliability over time. And many many u can think of....
That parts are cheaper from one from to another boils down to DEMAND ...if demand for Peugeot parts increase, price will increase ....
But best way to shut down the argument is bring a 407 and a Corolla (both refurbished to 95% state), put them on the road and compare reliability, efficiency amongst others ... but also note all cars not built same way ....
Every one loves a Corolla....
Investment wise which will you go for considering all other factors |

lexylexy: What am bringing to the table-My time, energy and life on the line.
Seems most of these partners don't really understand what drivers go through on the streets. If your car gets damaged, insurance will cover you. What if the driver gets 'damaged' or even dies...who covers that. I guess we're in the time of when material things, are worth more than human life. Tell that to the real working class industry with unrealistic targets that must be met. This industry some came out from while some still dey inside slaving their time, energy and life. And who said partners don't put their time (duration to recoup after investing huge amounts in a market that isn't 100% certain), their energy (chasing drivers and thinking of ways to reduce certain costs), their life (u think it's only the driver that is worried about this) The day every party starts seeing this as business (an offer made which u either Accept, Reject or Negotiate) to that possible best that will suit both parties. If a partner decides to implement a security deposit - it's his property or don't u pay a caution fee when moving to a new apartment that u haven't destroyed anything. It's a simple something jare Second bold lines .... Maybe partners or the E-hailing apps should start insisting that drivers have insurance that covers them too. Why argue the modalities in one direction? Does the driver know if the partner took out a loan or cleared out his bank account today invest? In business, every one works to protect his / her own. |
