Travel › Re: My Family Wants To Send Me To The UK-(London) , But Am Not Ready: I Need Advice by Caseless: 5:34am On Dec 05, 2024 |
Episode22: Hello Nairalanders, I'm not here to brag, I just need advice before I get lost.
I have two relatives living abroad (UK), both are from my mothers side, same father and same mother...
Just few days ago, I was called and told that they are making plans to send me to the UK early next year to go and stay with my uncle and find something doing there... they already communicated with my uncle abroad, and they just wanted to surprise me.
I'm 29 years old now, I graduated from school last two years as a petroleum engineering. Though, I'm not doing any work for now. My girlfriend is pregnant for me, and I have not disclosed it to anybody yet.
But the truth is that my mind doesn't want to go, I'm not ready and I have told them. They have already started telling me this is a one time opportunity, and that if I miss it, I won't see it again, but I have made up my mind that I don't want to go.
I just can't leave my friends here, I just don't know but I can't..
I need advice,
Why should I go, when my self and my mind is not ready... If you didn't fabricate this story in your head and, trying to gain attention by posting it here, then i'd tell you one word,"mumu". You slow well well. Stay and father a child. Mumu guy. Na toto de hungry you. When you'll look for this opportunity, you won't see it and Nigeria would have gotten harder by then. |

They already know where US foreign relations is heading to in the next 4 years and they wouldn’t want to be in bad books of trump . Islamic countries and dictators only fear hardliners and partially mad men like trump because the total destruction of what republicans did in Iraq is still fresh in most of their minds. The best thing for Biden now is to forget any new arrangements or deals , put his house in order and leave on January 20th Trump was here last time. What's about him? |

I think that mindset and illusion is even worse with guys Men just don't find it easy to get good wives, so It's difficult to find one when you want to settle down. The reason is, you have studied them so much that you don't want to be committed anymore. Those above 30 or mid 30s don't want to settle down. |

I'm sure you definitely WILL.
Although Biden has said he would never pardon his son, I think he assumed Democrats will take over office until Trump won! If it was in Nigeria, you'd have chanted "in saner climes, this can never happen". Double standard! |
Foreign Affairs › Re: President Biden Pardons His Son, Hunter Biden by Caseless: 3:51am On Dec 04, 2024 |
Kelechi009: it’s hard not to call it nepotism. The guy is literally his son! Would anyone else get that kind of pardon if they weren’t a family member. Fair point, but presidents do have the right to pardon anyone. It’s in the Constitution. Maybe he thought Hunter was unfairly targeted or that the charges were politically motivated.
There’s a difference between pardoning a political ally and pardoning your kid. It feels way more personal, like blurring the line between public service and family business. Is that fair? |

There's a difference between sales and production. PH refinery has commenced production but has not began bulk sales to markerters yet. I read the news they were masturbating to, even at that, the report says, the delay in selling fuel to markerters was as a result of calibrating the meters/ loading pumps.
Go and read that report again and tell me anywhere it was stated that PH refinery is not producing, I challenge anybody. Tell me where in the report you're masturbating to a marketer said production is not going on at the refinery. Enemies will continue to fail

Russia ain't having it. They won't let these lots ruin all their hard work in Syria. And, you know how ruthless Russia gets with terrorists attacking them. This is pure Carnage! Israel don't want Syria to stand because it's through syria that Hezbollah get arms. So, having done some operations in Lebanon, they need to set Syria on fire again. Of course, Russia helped Syria to stand - if not, they wanted it gone before this time. |

ChizzyBuna: I love and respect my dad so much He is old in age but he can still drive
The issue is anytime I'm driving him Instead of him to relax He will turn to Conductor every 2 seconds, sometimes he will shout that I'm speeding to fast but I'm not going past 60 kmph
Today I drove him to village and on the way he did the same shouting and telling me to look out for bumps.
This distracts me and makes me lose focus. Out of anger i shouted back at him to keep quiet and allow me drive. That i have eyes and i can see the bumps
Now i told him that he should never enter my car or unless he will keep quiet and allow me concentrate on my driving. No talking, he should keep it shut through out the whole journey.
Now he is feeling bad, did i do anything bad?? oboy, if you know what's good for you, go on your knees and ask for his forgiveness and then ask God to forgive you. You've laid curses on yourself by your actions. Seek forgiveness. And i'm here looking for a father to drive around to shout at me like your dad is doing, but he has that chance and he's abusing it. You think an old man of his age won't find 60km/h too fast? You'll get old abd find out what's happening to him. My colleague's mom would scream at 30km/h - that's what old age does to them. Go and apologise to that man for attacking for suffering "senior moment". Who de raise children of these days sef? |

DomPerignon: Do you know that prior to Yaradua's intervention and passage of the 13% derivative to oil producing states , all SE states got far much higher as federal allocation than oil producing states in the SS?
Obasanjo proposed 25% to oil producing states but SE legislators in the NASS aligned with the core north to kill the bill while hiding under opposition to Obasanjo's third term agenda.
Have you heard any of their elected officials wade into the VAT issue?
I rest my case. When it favors them, they don't talk and that's why I don't take their cry of marginalization serious - they're selfish too. We saw in civil service how their people are more in the system, you don't hear them cry here. |

The governor equally announced a growth in the state’s Internally Generated Revenue, IGR, from N37.4bn at the end of 2023 to N144.7bn in September 2024, representing a radical 286.2 per cent increase in line with the administration’s deliberate effort to wean the state off reliance on FAAC allocations With this, he can fund the budget. What I want to know is, how much if the last budget got financed without taking loans, what was used for loan servicing and how many percent implementation he got. I like his recurrent to capital expenditure ratio. This man is doing well. |

ElevationD: What a shame. It is a worldwide practice where people steal cars fro where they are parked on streets and immediately drive to the port, load up in containers to different destinations.
Nigeria is the largest importer of used vehicles worldwide. It is the biggest market for such vehicles. Thank you to customs for the seizure and returning them to their owner who have been crying.
Again we hope government can encourage local car assembly plants, with incentives and also get to reduce the cost of purchasing the brand new cars. In the long run, brand new cars are always better than used ones. How does a car worth 600m get easily stolen? And how does a thief think such does not get traced easily? |
