I disagree. I have read history of wars and understand finance to know that countries fight wars based on their self interest than on the interest of others. Oil prices rising is not the same thing as China facing an energy crisis. Even if prices increase, China is still receiving oil shipments while many Western-aligned tankers are avoiding the Strait of Hormuz. That means China is dealing with a price shock, while others risk actual supply disruption. So from Beijing’s perspective, the incentive to intervene militarily to fix a crisis largely created by Washington is far weaker than you think.

Price increase = manageable economic cost (Especially for a country like China)
Supply cut = energy crisis.

That's economics and geopolitics 101 and a "seasoned businessman" should know that.....at least the economics part.
