IamPatriotic:Very true, many youth on nairaland don't understand that this is the way of the politicians. They ain't divided like they make us to believe. |
Nice write up by Ben Murray Bruce. I feel this write up speaks volume about what goes on here. some excerpts from the article; "Months after the 2015 elections ended, Nigerian youths are still hung up on those elections. Nowhere is this more obvious than on social media which our youths have turned to a battle ground divided into pro People Democratic Party (PDP) and pro All Progressives Congress (APC) youths. So ingrained is this animosity that each group targets elected officials and party chieftains of the opposing parties and go after them just on the basis of their party affiliation." "These shenanigans makes me concerned for our youth. Where they should be getting closer and breaking down barriers, they are holding a candle for politicians who in reality are not as divided as they lead these youths to believe." " I advise youths not to look at Nigeria from a pro PDP or APC perspective. They should see the country from a pro youth outlook. Their future is greater than a party. Nigerian youths should not believe and act as if the only options available to them are either the PDP or the APC. There is a third alternative. This third alternative is patriotism." "Our youths need to understand that we are living in an idea age not an insult age. It takes interdependence and interconnection to create the atmosphere that inspires brilliant ideas. Our youths are short circuiting this interconnection when they alienate each other." "We really need to watch it. Nigerian youths are beginning to define intelligence as the ability to come up with the most sophisticated insult and criticism." "We urgently need to redefine intelligence in Nigeria. Mudslinging, cynicism and criticism are not acts of intelligence. Ideas and creativity are. If you are truly intelligent, you won’t be on Twitter lobbing insults on political opponents. Instead you will be tweeting ideas that inspire solutions to Nigeria’s challenges!" Just to encourage you all who aren't sure about the prospects of the company, just know that it's a dream place to work. The company is involved in different sectors of the economy, have projects on going in and around also outside the country, they are the quiet type. Going to any of their offices shouldn't be of priority, you try and put in your best and best of luck. |

Politics or not, we need those girls back. If the negotiations would help release them, then please let it come to pass, we don't need to mix up everything with the politicking of 2015 elections. we need those girls back. |
If this had happened in the U.S for instance, is it not Pres.Obama administration that would receive the credit? Yes the doctors who had direct contact with the Ebola victims are the true heroes of the victory against the spread of the virus. Nigerians who also heeded the call to cooperate with government agencies are to be commended too. Whichever way it was a collective effort, and the outside world will definitely give credit to the fg for this achievement. |
R.I.P...so sad |
Nice rating. Just to add that the inexperience shown on the part of the CD pairing of Oboboana and Egwuekwe should be counted as normal since they are still progressing and this competition serves as a learning curve for them. Hope they improve on their game subsequently. |
obailala: I'm sorry to burst your bubble about calling people illiterates but please read the story again and u would understand that both stories are not 'perfectly the same' as u claim. The original story from the Nairalander said the plane had taken off (airborne) while the statement by Dana air says at no time was the aircraft airborne. Read again!Someone is not saying it exactly as it happened. |

Eko Ile: We want our leaders to do everything in their power to do whatever to protect us, but we don't don't have to undermine our democracy, our laws, our constitution and legislative institutions for any reason under the sun.You are right in your assertions, if we are to look at it from that angle, Nigerian politicians don't respect the constitution as they tend to choose or apply the sections that favor them. |
The key issue is that Mr. President has done what he deems necessary to curb the menace of Boko Haram. |
Eko Ile: 1. The constitution empowers the president to issue the declaration by way official gazette, but he did so without it. Strike number 1.I think Mike Ozekome's last statement treats the issue of if the president has acted against the constitution “Therefore, Section 305 of the 1999 Constitution was not obeyed before the proclamation of the state of emergency by President Goodluck Jonathan,” Mr. Ozekhome said. “I would therefore say that since he did not follow due procedure, it is not a declaration of state of emergency, but an adoption of stiffer measures for the protection of lives and property in those states.’’ |
thomp4pal: Its hardware problem bro, i would not guest specifically what is faulty, but my advice is get experienced hardware tech and the fone will be alive again, since you are in lagos then see how to contact Tech Dragnet, i think he can help you here.thanks so much, do you have Tech Dragnet's contacts? |
thomp4pal: What is your sets history? did you change charger some days back before the mishap?. this problem can result from shorts withing pcb circuitry, meaning hardware problem, depending on technicians withing your reach, this will require an experienced chip level hardware technician to fix. so find oneHistory...i haven't experienced any fault on it before. Charger....Bought a another charger that i was using @ office, but didn't used it the day this happened I was @ computer village 2day, initially the phone was not showing any light(ie D red light), but after D technician checked it, it did bring light. He then proceeded to flash it, but the phone didn't come up....he said there is nothing he can do |
Hello house, please i urgently need help concerning this issue with my BB9930 Just today, after making a call, I was in the process of sending a text when the phone 'hanged' I removed the battery, and discovered that the phone and battery was extremely hot. I did fix back the battery after a while(allowed it to cool) but the phone wouldn't come up, rather it starts getting hot again. The red LED light that flashes once battery is inserted doesn't flash again, please what can i do? Thanks |
1. A constitution dt removes immunity 2. A constitution dt allow u remit your account quarterly or less 3. A constitution dt kills u if u embezzle 4. One dt submits your assets auditing before and after office 5. One dt allow u removed if d masses say u fail them @KINGwax no 3. SERIOUS? |
Both are stating their own 'point of view' as relating to the review/amendment of the constitution. BRF pointed out that “Those things that frustrate our people cannot be put at the doorstep of the Constitution. It lies in our diminishing values. I must not be mistaken that we don’t need a Constitution; what I am saying is that the Constitution cannot be driven by itself. It must be driven by people with values.” Yes we need Moral rebirth as individuals and as a country. Our leaders should have a sincerity of purpose. For me, this statement is 'crux of the matter' .... "those things that frustrate our people cannot be put at the doorstep of the Constitution" Two key questions,we need to answer, 1. What are 'THOSE THINGS' that frustrate ? 2. and Which 'PEOPLE' ? Obi (may have answered) there are THINGS that frustrate, a certain PEOPLE, that are in the Constitution. |
Rich Dad: Was this not the same Bridge that collapse some years back? And a contract was awarded for the Repairs? Where are these useless contractors now?yea i think its about 2yrs old now; it's not only the contractors, what about the supervisors of the construction of the bridge? |

May the souls of all who lost their lives in the plane crash REST IN PEACE, and God will grant their family the fortitude to bear the this irreparable loss.. |
Up chelsea. I simply do not agree with this "anti-football" comments. Bayern had their chances, but they failed to deliver. If they had scored at least 3 of of those chances, we will not have heard anything about "anti-football"... CONGRATS TO CHELSEA |
