To secure the cyberspace, you first need to understand what the environment entails and how things work generally, that's what the CompTIA A+ and the CompTIA Network + study materials introduce you to.

The Security + certification validates your knowledge of threat actors, risks and steps to mitigate them at a conceptual level.

You need hands-on IT experience with the appropriate hardware to be able to put the theories to practice

Since you said you are just starting out, I will assume you have no basic knowledge about how computers work in general, I will say you start with CompTIA A+, it will teach you the very basics - I'm not asking you to do the certification.

Also start learning any 1 or 2 programming languages of your choice - if you want to start with python, you can try angela yu 100 days python challenge it's a good course for beginners.

You also need basic windows & linux administrative knowledge, you can start with installing the OS on a VM then learning basic task like configuring a server, running a cron job ...

Learn Computer Networking and it's use, have an understanding on concepts like IP address, Network Subnetting and calculation, knowing different IP ranges, the OSI and TCP/IP model, Port numbers and their functions.

That is the beginning phase, with the little knowledge you've gained, i believe you will be able to figure which cybersecurity domain you want to focus on then continue from there.

Greetings guys.
So I just got a new high end gaming laptop yesterday and would love to start a new journey in cyber security.
I'm currently a practising architect and intend to combine and dedicate some free time to the learning.
Please I'd love any tips and guidance or the possibility to network with people who are into the field already so as to get good information and guidance.
Please note that I don't have any prior knowledge on anything programming before now.

I used Airtel router for over a year before the mtn broadband and the broadband is not only cheaper, but more stable.
Yes there has been downtimes about two or three times which normally do not take time.
Overall, I give it 97%.

Ahswear. Growing up, we used to envy those kids whose parents allowed all the freedom in the whole world to do whatever they liked. My mama go punish you so tey you go begin doubt say na she born you.
Guess what, today, over 85% of those guys turned out badly while those of us who had very strict parents tuned out much better.
My level of upbringing makes me disagree with this modern time model of child raising. As for me, I won't spare the rod. I don't care if my kids hate me later when they grow up, but my priority will be to raise them as as tough and as disciplined as ever.

Some are very wealthy, some are rich, some are just comfortable. But I assure you, no architect who understands architecture begs for food or for work....

You see courses in the construction industry, don't joke with them.
I studied architecture for example and I assure you that there is no architecture graduate who understands architecture that is without a job. Have you ever seen an architecture graduate riding keke or Uber after graduation? Absolutely not.
The prospect too is so mad that you can be self employed and still do so well. I worked for two firms after school for like a little over a year and have been on my own ever since and doing so well.

So, for like 3 years now, I've been suffering from this frequent nasal congestion that even inhalers could not take care of unless I used nasal drops. I thought maybe it was a disease or an infection or something like that without knowing that it was actually as a result AC usage.
So, few months ago, it got a little worse and I went to the hospital and the doctor just pointed a Torchlight inside my nose and instantly said I had sinusitis which had gotten worse due to excessive usage of nasal drops and now, the only permanent cure to it is to undergo a nasal surgery which might cost at least 480k.
After the consultation, he gave me some drugs to just help but insisted on the surgery and so I left and went into pondering on whether to do the surgery or not considering the possibility of complications afterwards
Somehow, due to the increased cost of electricity tariffs this period, I stopped using AC and bought rechargeable fans instead to reduce cost. Guess what guys? My nasal blockages completely went away on its own and it was then that I realized it was actually AC that was causing me that.
Imagine if I had gone for the surgery, imagine the wrong diagnosis, imagine if the surgery had gone wrong, imagine the amount of money I would have wasted going for nasal surgery. This is what a wrong medical practice could cause.
Our medical practitioners need to do better.
