Good evening everyone!

So I booked my biometrics at TLS for Tuesday, paid for a premium timeslot.

However FG has declared Tuesday and Wednesday a public holiday 🥲🥲

Does TLS work on public holidays? If not, is there a way to reschedule the appointment (and will it cost me any extra 🥲)

Thanks!

Most likely they will attend to you.

Otherwise, you can log in and change your appointment.

Kindest regards,

@Cashmadam,
Please if my employer should transfer the trip sponsorship fund of like 3.5m to fully cover my trip to a business conference two weeks before my biometric,I hope it will fly.

I will submit my Salary account where I have been receiving my salary for the past 6 months and also submit my employers account for the past 6 months as well.

2. In the online form which says How much are you personally spending on this trip? Can I put N1 naira, since my Employer is providing all the funds for the trip.

Please Cashmadam and other gurus respond to a brother

No need to transfer any funds into your account. Provide your statements of account and proof that your employer is willing and able to sponsor the trip. The money transferred can appear like "account padding" if you are not careful.

No the investments will not reflect in the 6months bank statement I intend to provide, what I mean: I intend to apply in May with an interview date in June when my kids will b on mid term, so the bank statement (6months) will b January to June. The investments were made in November/December. I do not intend to submit my savings bank statement where I previously save money. For the purpose of this visa, I now retain my savings in my salary account which I will explain in my cover late as part of my contribution . I intend to part sponsor my self, while my husband sponsor my kids and me.
So I don not want to mention my savings account so as not to have to provide a bank statement.
I just want to provide my current account showing how much I earn monthly over the 6month, showing my expenses in the 6months and leaving the balance as my saving 4 the trip.
Pls I will appreciate ur candid advice house.
Thank you for ur swift response.

That's fine. It should work...

Any info if UKVI is familiar with electronic bank statement from Access Bank?

The statment is quite bulky so I'm considering using the electronic format.

Yes, it's fine. If it's more than 10MB, you need to compress it.

Hi Champs good morning, I'm working on a cousins application, well travelled, has 3 Us visas, been to the UK more than 10 times, hisblast 10 yrs Visa expired last year. Kids are in the UK with ex wife, and they've been there while he was visiting. He has more than 5 schenghen visas, turkey, and countless African visas. He is a lawyer and he is been invited by a sibling who is a citizen. He wants to go for 10 yrs again. My concern is he is a civil servant but into estate management and private clients lawyer and gets alot of commission. His salary as a civil servant is less than 300k. I am attaching his payslips and his other account and not the salary account. His expenses are also higher. I need your advice gurus in the house.

Simple. Let him use the same set of documents he used for the first 10 years visa he got.

Sometimes the ECO just do as they like cos I see nothing wrong here unless your bank statement is too low to sponsor her.. below was the cover letter on behalf of my own mom and she was granted 6 months

My name is xxxxxxx (passport number: A1xxxx). I am a US Citizen and I reside xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx. I am self-employed in Logistics (Air Transportation of Cargo).
I am writing this letter on behalf my mom who is applying for a UK visit visa of 6 months to celebrate my
wife's birthday which we have planned to celebrate in UK.
She is a retired civil servant in Nigeria, she lives in her own her own house with her two dogs, she gets
monthly upkeep from me, we have no relatives or any ties to the UK and hence she has no intentions of
overstaying in the UK.
It has always been a dream of hers to visit London, so it would mean a lot to me if I would finally make
that dream come true. During our time in the UK, I have planned to visit as many tourist attractions as
possible, such as the London Eye, the Tower of London, Buckingham Palace, and the National Gallery
among others with her.
While in London, we will stay in a hotel (MOXY London Heathrow Airport) I have already booked for her,
and I will also cover her personal expenses.
As US Citizen, UK is a visa free country for us to travel to, so my wife and I will not be applying for a UK
visa with her.
I have attached proof of my marriage with my wife showing her date of birth, my finances, hotel
bookings, her bank statement, my business registration here in the US, her house documents to prove
home ties to Nigeria and proof of funds to show she will be well taken care of.
As at time of uploading, my mum bank statement could not be obtained due to an email not attached to
online banking platform and she couldn’t walk into a bank by herself due to an injury sustained on her
leg but she has an account balance of N151,390 in her bank account.

Your US citizenship helped your Mum. If you are in the US, she will most likely prefer to stay in the US, not the UK. I hope she enjoys her trip.

Pls I will like to ask
1) if one has some investment say in treasury bills, is it wise to submit this in addition to ur salary bank statement, will u need to show how u accumulated the funds? Am wondering is I shud just leave that investment out. Cos some times it's like the less information you give the less reason 4 scrutiny. I had a refusal in 2022 because my bank statement had alot of funds flying in and out, the ECO cud not understand, and going thru this thread now I understand my mistake. However I want to submit only my salary bank statement showing only my salary and my monthly expenses. So my question is , should I just submit my 6months salary bank statement and not mention any other investments?
Question 2; Do I need to explain my sponsors bank statement? My husband is sponsoring me and my kids. Last time application I was the only sponsor. I intend to submit his 6months bank statment( savings account) showing the amount he intends to sponsor the trip.
Pls kindly advise. Thank you so much all

Please include your investments - I assume you mentioned in your form that you have some money saved. Your investment will show your savings. The source of the money in your investments should easily be traced to your salary account.

Thanks for your comment.

The bank statement is not low. In fact, the statement showed that she has 1.3m as closing balance and she had a total of 170k as credit from her sons during the one month period. She only intend to spend 50k

My fear was that the ECO dwelled on the previous refusal despite saying this new one is reviewed based on it own merit.

Now, I am not sure what do. Is it advisable to apply as soon as possible.

Note: she’s had 3 refusal based on different reasons which are corrected in subsequent application.

Sorry about the refusal.

With three refusals, I strongly suggest you leave UK for now. If you really want her to go on vacation, please choose another Country. When that is successful, you can try the UK again next year or so.

Thanks .

Your application is straightforward. Fill the online form carefully and provide documents to prove your status in Canada and how you intend to fund the trip

Hi everyone.

I am about to start my application, and I need some suggestions on home times. I’m single, and I earn relatively well, with an okay bank statement (about 11m). I don’t own any properties except my car. In my opinion, the only proof of home times I currently have is my employment and somewhat decent financial situation.

What else do you suggest I could use to show the ECO I have every intention of coming back? I’m thinking of getting a letter from my church to say that I’m a worker, and that I’ll be coming back to the church. But I don’t know if that will help at all.

In the last 10 years, I’ve been to about 8 countries, including the US. But I don’t know if that will help in lieu of strong home ties.

Any suggestions?

Fill the online form carefully. Ensure your salary account is "clean". Avoid "account padding".

Your savings (N11m) isn't a lot when converted to Pounds as the exchange rate is really high now. If you don't have any dependant and your monthly disposable income is reasonable, you should be fine.

Your travel history (especially to the US) will help.

Good luck!

Good evening my brothers and sisters, please i need your suggestions.. my brother’s visa was just denied this night, being that his POF wasn’t held for 28days, he said that he topped up when the exchange rate changed and the top up didn’t stay upto 28 days, he didn’t know it mattered cos he felt the old money was upto 28 days..

Please will the school accept he defers? And should he reapply?? Please what do we do?

He should have asked for advise when he topped up. He must inform the school immediately. The school may issue another CAS then he will need to start the process all over again. He has wasted time and a lot of money.

Good morning House, I currently have an issue which I want to be sure of. I bought non-immigrant (B1/B2) visa US visa fees and booked the appointment for 2024 around May 2022, I saw an email recently that reminded of my interview in 2 months time but an information popped up at their website saying any visa fees paid before October 1 2022 is not valid anymore. I am quite confused and want to be sure if the money paid then is not valid for the appointment again. The image attached shows the information of the message on their website (usatraveldocs). Kindly suggest what to do.

Yes, the fee you paid is no longer valid. You need to pay again at the current rate

You will receive and email that your document is ready for pick up.

You either get the visa or another email with reason for rejection.

If you get the visa, you get one email that your passpor is ready.

No, your baby is not a citizen and will not be even when you get your citizenship. It is no longer automatic. You will need to apply for a regular visit visa for your baby.

I have a question: Please answers from experience

After the expiration of a 6-month Visa, if I'm renewing to 5/10yrs, what documents should I submit with the application? Should I submit the same sets of documents I used when apply for the 6-months or I don't need much documents as before since it's a renewal.

Thanks

Same set of documents. Just include more recent statement of accounts and the recent version of other documents that may have expired (e.g data page of passport etc)

Good afternoon House,
I applied for a student visa on the 12th of January, 2024. 13th of January, 2024 my application was received by the DMC department, and since then it has been stalled. I waited for 21days to get a decision as that was their standard decision time-frame. I got no response, I had to send a paid mail on the 4th of February, 2024. Was eventually scheduled for an interview of the 11th of February, 2024 which I did. And up till now I still haven't heard a word from them. Sent another paid mail on the 13th of February and a paid call on the 20th of February with no tangible reason for the delay. Meanwhile, my school in her benevolence has extended my resumption date from 22nd of January to 16th of February and then to 26th of February,2024 which is like a few days from now.

Please I would like to know what could be potential cause of this delay and anything I can do to help speed-up this process or better still what to expect. I'm honestly getting frustrated 😞

@duchess & other gurus in the house please assist with your thoughts and opinions

You can only pray and probably ask your school for another extension. At this point, it is now a waiting game.

She has about 5 million savings in another account and this is over years

Then, she should use her account and sponsor herself. To prove that she has saved over a long period (so it does not look like account padding), she should print her statement spanning at least one year - not six months as is the usual practice.

Was so discouraged when I saw loads of rejections but thankfully, mine was accepted.

Guys, all you need is just confidence, a defined purpose for your travel and a definite reason why you will come back and not remain in the US...

I even told them I've a relative in the US

They didn't ask me to bring any document at all..

Hopefully, I'd be able to give details of how the interview went but for now, make I go pop pepsi (I don't take alcohol)

Thank you all

Hello everyone, please i have a major question. With this B1/B2 visa is it a must that i book both a departure and a return ticket? Will i be stopped by immigration if i don't book a return ticket beforehand? I plan on booking the return ticket after i am done with my business in the US

Oh and please one more thing; this will be my first international travel... please is qatar airways okay or should I use Air France? Qatar is two stops while air France is one stop

No Airline will lift you with one way ticket. KLM / Air France is fine. Two stops can be quite stressful. Although I prefer Qatar anyday.. Check properly. You might get Qatar with one stopover.

Safe trip!

Good Afternoon,

I need help or suggestions.

I am trying to make an application for my mother to come and visit me in Birmingham Uk.She is a level 16 officer working with lagos state government for over 25 years. She is been paid 280,000N and she has a second job with an online store where she responds to orders and she is been payed 100,000N monthly she has a closing balance of about 2,290,000.She has been to Egypt and has a Canada/American denial.

I just finshed my university and recently had my brp changed in January to skull worker Visa and I recently got a job with the Uk civil service in the department for transport.Prior to that I worked in my Uni and started doing support work in September.I have about 2500 pounds in savings.

Please I need detailed help on how to put an application for my mum she wants to come visiting in March for graduation I have gotten a letter for her as well if not she doesnt mind visiting during the Easter Holiday.

Thank you

with 2,500 Pounds, you should not act as a sponsor. However, your Mum's salary is also low.

Do you have another sibling in the UK who can sponsor your Mum?

Unless your Mum has a lot of money saved somewhere over a long period of time..

You didn't indicate if she has any savings..

A Friend wants to apply to UK for visit for 7 days and here is his profile and he is sef employed with a balance of $6,500 in dorm account and 2m as an available balance

Earns 15m annually which is 1.250m monthly but spends 150k monthly as maintenance leaving him with a balance of 1.1m monthly(584.659GBP)

He plans on staying at hotel for 7 days which is 460GBP, flight through Egyptair which costs 720GBP making a total of 1,180GBP excluding food and activities.

1. He is planning on spending 3m(1,594.52 GBP) but I have read on this page about disposable income which is not advisable to spend over 2.5x of monthly income, In his case, Can he spend up to 2.8x - 3x of his monthly income? Yes, that can work

2. If i acted as a co-sponsor for him saying, I would be responsible for his hotel accommodation, will that be a red flag? Big Red Flag

he has travel history within the last 5 years to Dubai 2x, South Africa, Ghana and Lebanon. They don't reckon with these Countries really. But he should still state his travel history for the records.

what are his chances? He can try. Self employed applicants are under more scrutiny so he should ensure he fills the form carefully. No lies, no "account padding".
