Hello everyone,

Please I need a clarification, I applied for me (main applicants and I was waiting for my visa to come out then apply for my dependent….Visa has been delaying since September 9 that i applied . School resumes today and I have been informed that if I’m not available in UK today, my admission will be deferred to February. Please note that my visa is still not out…Now my question is

1. Will UKVI be aware that my admission will be deferred by the school - the school will most likely cancel your CAS and UKVI will be informed
2. Should I go ahead to apply for my dependents now before school degrees the admission? - I don't see how that will work. Once the CAS is cancelled, you cannot proceed
3. If I apply for my dependents now will the visa application be automatically denied for my dependents as school is planning to change my admission to February or UKVI will still continue to work with the previous one . - it will most likely be denied

Please I need an answer and more clarifications because I am so sad and confused

I got my UK 6 month visit visa but didn't get to use it. Instead of going to UK i went to France. I want to reapply but some things are missing in my documents.
1. I cant use my company account bcoz i stopped banking with my previous banker. My new account company account is barely 2 months old.
2. Money in my Naira savings account is like 10times lower than what i presented back then though i have a dorm account that can close up that gap but i dont know if dorm accounts are acceptable.

Also, am i eligible for 2 years ?
@cashmadam, @giselle237

You can use the Dom Account. You can apply for two years.

Hello Duchess,CashMadam and other gurus

I recently just filled my university of Plymouth pre cas check list and I declared that I’ve been refused a US visa in 2017, Although it was 2 refusals in 2 weeks but I only filled for one refusal because it was for the same general 214b reason. I hope it won’t affect me from getting my CAS.

Declare all refusals. They won't affect your CAS

Hi,

My friend is applying for his mother, she's trader selling foodstuffs, she earned 800k annually while she also getting income from 1100k annually from his family and friends,

Mu friends is sponsoring the trip as he has over €7k in his account, he's planning to €3k for the trip. While the monthly expenses for his mother is 60k.

On the form they asked the mother how much she personally spend on the trip? Pls how how much can she state? 1 - 5 Pounds. Zero actually but the online form won't accept that. Although when I sponsored my children, I would put the amount of money I budgeted for each of them. The question is actually confusing so just put one or two pounds.

Gurus in the house pls help us. @cashmadam, giselle237, shootingstar and other gurus help us.

Hello Everyone,

My Husband is trying to apply for a visit visa for my family and i and it's really important we go on this trip.

My Husband is the sponsor of this trip.. He is a business owner..He just started paying himself salaries about 4 months ago (His account balance is a little over 3m)

1.can he state that his company would fund the trip?..Will this fly? - It is better to sponsor with personal account

2. Can he do a transfer of the funds we would need from his company account and explain in the cover letter? Yes

3. How much can he state that we would spend on this trip? (Accommodation inclusive)for a family of 4 for 3 weeks? Depends. Tickets alone will cost average of 1,000 Pounds due to the exchange rate now. Maybe 2K for adults and 1,500 for the children

4. How long does a standard visa application take currently? Average of 15 working days.

@giselle237, @cashmadam, all the gurus in the house..please I need your inputs.. thank you.

Please for business owners trying to apply for visit visa, as compared to salary earners it is quite tricky/difficult to show or proof our monthly income/profits from bank statements since bank statements will show both Capital and profits all together. Like for me, I always turnover my profit when I sell an item with the capital to buy another item. Let me give an example of how my business works:

I buy an item from the US for like 400k, when it arrives Nigeria I sell for at least 480k and in a month I sell up to 11 to 15 items of such. But my bank statement for each month is showing both capital and profit. So how do we prove or show them how much we make?

How would you advise we go about this?
I use my personal account to run my business as i don't have a business account, hope it's not a bad thing when applying?

Seperate your business account. It is tougher for self employed applicants so you need to start right.

Keep your explainations as simple as possible. Avoid complicated transactions that you can't explain in simple English.

It took me a while to understand your write up. Keep things straighforward and simple.

Good day, House. Please, @Giselle237 and @cashmadam. I will need your advice for a friend's Mum that wants to visit his son in the UK, through Family Visitor's visa. Mama is no working, and she's a widow.

The son is married with kids, and he is working, but the Trip will be fully sponsored by her daughter in the U.S.

Mama wants to go visit the son and grandchildren and spend the Christmas with them. She intends to live with son for the one month period.

Please, how much fund must the U.S. daughter make available for sponsoring her Mum for this Trip? and what other important aspects should be taken care of during the application process. Thank you

1. Cut trip down to two weeks

2. Why can't the son sponsor his Mum?

3. Does Grandma own any property?

4. Does Grandma do any type of business? Even petty trading?

5. Establish strong home ties. Extremely important

I have refused your application for a visit visa because I am not satisfied that you meet the
requirements of paragraph(s) 4.2 of Appendix V: Immigration Rules of visitors because:
• You have applied to visit the United Kingdom for 10 days for a family visit. In
assessing your application. I have considered the information provided, your
personal and financial circumstances and the credibility of your trip in the context of
its timing and your stated intentions.
• You state that you are employed by *******''***as a
Marketing Manager earning 320,000.00 NGN (340.93 GBP) per month. I
acknowledge you have provided employment letters and payslips in support of your
application. Having examined the payslips submitted however, I note a discrepancy
in the total earnings amount stated and the net amount after deductions. The
document states total earnings of 355,500.00 NGN less total deductions 35,540.00
NGN which does not amount to 320,000.00 NGN but to 319,960.00 NGN. This
discrepancy undermines the overall credibility of your application. I am therefore not
satisfied that you are employed or remunerated as stated.
• Furthermore, in your application you state you have no other savings and no one
else is contributing towards the cost of your trip. You state that you intend to
personally spend 1,700,000.00 NGN (1811.20 GBP) on your visit as declared. I note
that this amounts to more than five times your monthly income. I am not satisfied this
form of expenditure is proportionate to your circumstances as stated nor am I
satisfied of your intentions and whether you will leave at the end of your proposed
trip.
• Given the above, I am not satisfied that you are genuinely seeking entry as a visitor
and that you intend to leave the UK at the end of your visit. Your application is
therefore refused under paragraph’s V 4.2 (a) and (c) of the Immigration Rules.
Rate of exchange 1 GBP = 938.606 NGN reference www.oanda.com on 20/10/2023

Sorry about the refusal.

My thoughts:

1. When it comes to visa applications, it is always better to be precise. I noticed she 'rounded" up her monthly salary. It might look insignificant but when your case worker is looking for a reason to refuse your application, the insignificant becomes significant

2. Monthly salary of N319K plus is too low. That is the fact.

3. No savings? That was a disaster waiting to happen

4. With her monthly salary, no saving and no other source of income, the only option left is to have a sponsor. Even that does not guarantee approval

5. In my humble opinion, your sister simply cannot afford to travel to the UK at this time. She should not waste her money and time to reapply for now until her financial status improves or she has a credible sponsor.

Perharps others can share their thoughts.

Hello Fam,

@ Duchess and other gurus in the house.

I would like to confirm the best approach for 3 dependents (1 adult and 2 children) applying to join MA is to use just 1email address for their applications or use their individual emails?

If its 1 email address for all, must it be the MA or the MA's partner email?

Are there any advantages/disadvantages to any of this approach?

Email address is not a big deal. The family can use one email address, two addresses or three different emails. Not an issue.

Good evening everyone,
please is there anyone waiting for visa that’s for September intake? I’m still waiting for mine and my latest enrollment date was moved to 23rd October.
My application is priority and no dependant.

Applied 23rd September
Bio 25th September
NSF mail 26th September no additional documents requested.

I have made 4 paid calls and only received 1 escalation email on the 11th October saying they checked my application and have seen that I was informed my application would take longer because it’s not straightforward. That prior to entry clearance mandatory checks need to be carried out and this can take time. I should be patient. It’s currently 15 working days now. ( I paid priority)

My worry is that my school have only granted me 1 more week to enrollment and advice that if I can’t make it I should withdraw my application. I am so worried. I have put in a lot of money, time on this.
I paid rent already in the UK which tenancy started October 1st
I have moved my flight twice paying over 400k each time.

Please guys if someone receives visa after enrollment deadline and the school says you have to differ and give new cas (which I am praying won’t be my case) do you have to pay for another visa application and IHS fee ? Has anyone had such experience?
Please share

I pray you get the visa on time.

At this stage, you can only pray. Your school has been more than magnanimous by extending the deadline.

To the best of my knowledge, if you get the visa after enrollment, you will need to get a new CAS and pay for another visa. And yes, you will also pay for IHS as the visa was actually issued. Also, your landlord in the UK may demand for your full rent as you have probably signed a contract already for the accomodation. Next time, don't buy a ticket till you get the visa (unless you are a frequent flyer).

A lot is at stake. Pray and ask God for mercy. Keep us informed.

Good luck!

Please how do I tackle this, I am a still a student and I stated my sister will be the sponsor.

Sorry about the refusal.

My thoughts:

1. If you get some money as allowance, it is expected that you will have some savings - no matter how little (unless you are a minor). In that case, you should try and save some money every month before you reapply.

2. Based on number 1 above, in the section where you are asked how much you will personally spend, you can then input a reasonable amount that is supported by the amount of money in your savings. Nothing outrageous please.

3. Your sister can sponsor you with 3,000. Just ensure her documents support this

4. Provide documents from your school - ID card, results etc. Credible and verifiable documents to prove that you are indeed a student and you have a reason to come back to Nigeria to complete your education. If there is any reason for case worker to believe you can abandon your schooling in Nigeria to start afresh in the UK, your application will be refused.

I suggest you take your time to put your documents together, save some money and fill your form carefully before your reapply.

Good luck!

Hello Gurus in the house , Please, I still need your advice on this.

I think it's a good decision. However, I would advise you to think about it carefully before you go ahead. Accomodation is very important and if its looking too difficult to secure, please don't add your children to the mix. Adults can manage. Children will struggle.
