Hello Good day! my UK 6 months visit visa expired in December. I only used it once for 3 days tourist. Now, i want to apply for 5 years. My passport validity will expire in 2027. If granted, would i be able to use the visa with another renewed passport after 2027?

Thank you

Yes.

Good evening house, please help me out on this. Below is my refusal letter. Please I need your advice. I got a refusal letter yesterday. Thanks

Sorry about the refusal.

Your income is good on paper. But something is not adding up... Even the case worker could tell something is not adding up.

Leave UK for now. Visit another Country so that you can have travel history.

When you are ready to reappy to the UK, let us know. Right now, your chances are quite slim and I don't want you to waste money to reapply.

Gurus in the house, please help me out here. Blow his my refusal letter. Please I need your candy advice because i will be re-applying in 6months time. Thanks

I've refused your application for a vising visa because I am not satisfied that you meet the requirements of paragraph.

• You have declared that you are an executive Manger for Multi purpose services earning 600.000NGN(£616)per month, plus additional 3,000.000NGN(£3,081)per year from other sources of which you spend 100,000NGN(£102)per month. You further state that you will travel to the UK for a 13 days holiday at a personal cost of £2000, and that your employer will contribute a further £1,200 towards the visit.

• Whlist, I acknowledge the importance of family visits and am aware that you have stated your Sister resides in the UK and submitted supporting documents in her name. I must take into account your personal circumstances when coming to my decision. Furthermore. I have been unable to establish any previous contact with her/him or establish that you're in fact related as stated

• I am aware that you have provided documents pertaining to your employment, as well a bank statement in your name from First Bank covering the period of (06/02/23 to 07/08/23. However, credit into the account totalled 5.689,777 NGN(£5846) which equals to over 9 times stated salary, entering the account over just a 6 months period. And over the same period the account the account showed a profit of 9,290NGN (£9.29) Neither of these figures relate to the finances stated in your application form. And I have e be unable to verify the source of any of the funds seen entering your accounts. Furthermore, whilst you stated you received additional income from other sources. I been unable to establish where your source of income this income from and how this income is generated.

• In addition, according to your statements in your application form, you clear £770 a month after all expenses. I do not find it credible that with a partner to support in Nigeria, would you now chosen to spend over 3 times this available monthly income and all of your available funds on a 13days visit, nor that your employer would sponsor your holiday, having never previously sought the same sponsor in the 4 years since she has been in the UK

• From the information provided, I have not been able to establish that your current employment or financial circumstances are as stated. How you are supported on a daily basis and how you will finance your visit, nor whether you have family members currently in Nigeria currently in Nigeria. As such I am satisfied that you have provided an accurate portrayal of your current personal circumstances or the circumstances surrounding your visit.

• I have refused your application for a visit visa because I am not satisfied that you meet the meet the requirements of paragraph (s) 4.2(a)(c)(e) and V4 .3 (a) of appendix V because am not satisfied that you will leave the UK at the end of the visit are genuinely seeking entry for a purpose that is permitted by the visa routes and that you have sufficient funds to cover all reasonable cost in relation to their visit without working or accessing public funds, including the cost of return or onward journey, any costs relating to dependants and cost of planned activities such as private medical treatment. Furthermore I am not satisfied that your sponsor has a genuine professional or personal relationship with you

Sorry about the refusal.

My thoughts:

1. Why is your employer sponsoring the trip? Is it an official trip? This story is not adding up..

2. Your earnings are all over the place

3. Don't reapply. If you really have the money, visit another Country and then try again next year.

Good evening gurus in the house.
I have 2.6m saved in my account for my salary and I wrote on the online application that I intend to use 1m towards my feeding and transport within the UK as I will be staying for 16 days, while my hubby who is my co sponsor will be supporting with £2500 paying for my accommodation and flight fare cos I am going for exams. My hubby stays in Uk but far from my exam place. So on my online form, I wrote 1m from me and £2500 from him. However after drawing the budget, I realized we may not be spending up to that amount.
Feeding and transport would cost me about 320k (£176) while flight and accommodation will cost my hubby about £1,600. Will this affect my application since I already said we were contributing 1m and £2500 for the trip in the online form.

Our bank statements can carry it comfortably and we are each employed so source of income is not a problem.
I am just worried if it will be considered as a discrepancy in a negative light.
Do I need to increase the figures in my budget so it can take up all the money we are intending for it.

Don't worry about it. You will be fine as long as your account statements show that you can afford it.

Guys please I have a question. I have a US interview this month in Nigeria. I’m married to a UK citizen and I have a UK P.R. I filled my form that I’ve never been refused a U.S visa and I just realized today that I have. In 2007, my mom applied for me and I didn’t even remember. I was in secondary school then so I didn’t even know. Since it’s over 15 years, will the record still be in their system.

They will still have the records.

Best you fill another form and include that detail

Gurus in the house, please help me out here. See my mother’s rejection letter below. The two reasons they gave are addressable issues. I offered to fully sponsor her with 2200 GBP and even attached my 6-month bank statement showing over 30000 GBP with invitation and sponsorship letter, and all the sponsorship docs needed. Only to be rejected (5 days after biometrics) on the grounds of unclear funds in her bank statements, which we explained as transfers from her children, other cash gifts and repaid loans in a cover letter and in the extra information box (a series of payments not exceeding 150000 NGN, some even as low as 3000 NGN, and no lump sums apart from transfers from me and my siblings usually around 125000 NGN). Also, as a government worker, there are little payments here and there from the FGN. Payslips were even added! We submitted her bank statements just to fulfil all righteousness to show that she’s able to take care of herself back home - and that has spelled doom! I equally noticed that the second paragraph/reason was about how much her expenses are (and they quoted figures in Ghanaian Cedis, which shows me that they’re just writing anything as reasons for refusal these days). I indicated that her monthly costs amount to 70000 NGN, bearing in mind things like gas, food, fuel, DSTV and even the fact that she takes care of her late sister’s daughter. Maybe this was an understatement on my part. Fine, she renewed her professional license a month or so ago, maybe the huge amount threw the ECO off guard - but still! How is one supposed to have a fixed expenditure every month? Not even the ECOs have that. Also, for someone who has a sponsor and has submitted sponsor’s financial and tenancy documents, and self-introduction letter from sponsor, why are they talking about if her funds will be “genuinely available to [her] in the UK”. In the application form, I indicated that she’ll only spend 10 GBP of her money, whilst 2200 GBP has been earmarked for her 10-day trip this Easter (with a budget submitted even). This is ridiculous! The reasons for rejection are starting to seem mundane and rehashed - it all appears to be basically rushed. We submitted a comprehensive application with at least 17 documents (including employment reference and property ownership documents). What do you advise I do? I am so pissed at the fact that these are infinitesimal issues. Imagine being on vacation and this is the bomb dropped on the very first day you arrive at an exotic destination - that’s my situation right now. It means no rest smh. I want to reapply immediately, if possible, because Easter is only some weeks away. In essence, should we have left the bank statement out in the first application (cos mine was enough since I’ll be fully sponsoring)? And, should I leave it out in the next application (just submit payslips)? I’m just confused even.

Finally, please how do you go about it when monthly expenditure is higher than your monthly income?

Kindly provide your wise counsel. @cashmadam @AmeliaT @others

Good morning. Sorry about the refusal.

My thoughts:

1. Clearly, the case worker made a mistake as he quoted a different currency. That shows he/she did not pay attention to the documents you provided.

2. The money you or your siblings pay into your Mum's account should be the same every month and should be credited to her consistently around the same date every month. This will prove that the money is intended for her upkeep - and not account "padding"

3. Let your Mum run her account for six months and then she can reapply.

Good luck!

I just graduated 2023 I'm think of applying for a student visa but the DOB on my documents is 06-06-1992, is it wish I change my passport DOB or I change all my document DOB

Don't bother with US visa. Your previous application will pop up and the discrepancies in your date of birth might be noticed. If you get another passport, they will know.

Greetings everyone,
I'm curious...
If I top-up my POF a few days before my student visa appointment just to make up for the rates, will this affect my application?
Do I need to wait the extra 28-30 days circle again?

Best you pay more money to your school. If you add more money to the money you already have in your account, you will need to count 28 days all over again - unless the initial money you had is adequate but you just want "extra"

Hi ma'am,

It's always good to ask questions generally so everyone can chime in as I may not have all the answers.

1. You can but will need to explicitly explain this in your cover letter and also get a letter of intro from the company. Your cover letter should also establish who you are- What you used to do before this, what's your career specialty etc.
My husband's cover letter always addresses his degrees and what he's been doing for the past 20 years since he graduated from Uni. His entire career history is covered before he lands on the business he's running. So he establishes himself as an accomplished professional. Dwelling on the last year alone shows you have a job but no career. This is something people miss a lot.

2. 350k a year is 4.2m.
Your flight is likely to cost at least- 800k-1m
Your accommodation- Provided by family.
Your Food- Family, I guess
Transport- Budget about 10 Quid a day for a 14 day stay. That's 140 which is about 252k.
Your entertainment and shopping- Up to you but I would say at least 300-500 quid as a genuine visitor which is 540k to 900k.
Total comes to between 1.6m and 2m.
1.6m is 4.5 months salary which I think is okay for a holiday.
However, this means that your account balance has to have this total amount of 1.6m plus extra to cover your expenses for the new couple of months. I usually say at least 150%-200% of your travel budget. So, 2.4m- 3.2m.
The question is how does someone who earns 350k save 3.2m when the total annual salary is 4.2m. Does it mean you only spend 80k a month and save the remaining 270k? You need to show what you were doing even before consultancy started one year ago. What job, how much, what did you save etc.? Most people have jobs but no career. A proper career is a tie to your country. A job is not.

3. They should provide a copy of their British passport, invitation letter, home ownership/mortgage agreement and proof of relationship. I hope your "aunty" is a blood relative and you can prove this via birth certificates, pictures and evidence of frequent correspondence. BRP is biometric residence permit for those who are not yet British.

4. That is not a good thing and needs to be explained in your cover letter with justification. A company that doesn't pay ontime could be a risky place to work for and therefore employees are likely disgruntled and therefore not whole heartedly given to the job. So, your job may not be seen as a tie.

5. I am honestly not sure about this. But you could play it to your favour and declare that you have joint custody of your children and leaving them for a long amount of time will jeopardize your position with the courts. You are travelling during their summer holiday which is 6 weeks long as dad has custody for 3 weeks while you have 3 weeks, so you need to come back on time to take possession of your children. You can have a whole section in your cover letter that explains what you do for/with the kids and how they are your life, the custody schedule etc. and your plans to take them with you to visit their grandparents and extended family in another state over the Christmas holiday etc.

I hope this helps! Good luck!

My thoughts:

1. Your auntie is not seen a close relative

2. Your delayed salary might be an issue. You might get lucky and get away with it

3. Your children are strong ties to Nigeria. Emphasis that

I am a medical doctor intending to apply for visitors visa to enable me write my PLAB2 in April.
However I have 2 concerns
1st…I have been previously denied a multiple entry visit visa to Ireland last year and upon appeal it was denied on 2 reasons ;
Why I didn’t visit my fiancé in the UK instead
The date I planned on returning had passed before the date the appeal officer reviewed my case. (Irish visitors visa takes 8weeks after biometrics to get a decision and about 3weeks on an appeal case)
N/b; my husband then fiancé lives in the UK and we had planned on having a pre wedding vacation in Ireland And that was why I didn’t apply for a visit visa to the UK then.

2nd….. my hubby lives in the UK on post study visa and would be sponsoring my air ticket and accommodation as my exam is far from where he lives so I will be booking a hotel. I will take care of my feeding and internal transport.

I am worried that having my hubby there may be disadvantageous regarding my evidence/obligation to return.

I will be submitting my bank statements of 6months as I am gainfully employed and earn 300k after taxes.

I would also like to state that I contributed about 1.8m to my wedding in November so the expenses will reflect in my October, November and December bank statements and they are duly labeled. I normally spend between 40k-70k of my salary monthly. I have about 2.6m in my account

How do I go about it?
What are my chances of getting my visa approved

If your husband lives in the UK, you might be seen as a flight risk.

You need to emphasis your home ties.
Good morning everyone, I'm a Doctor going for plab 2 exams in September, I know the time is far but I have to plan. I just have some questions:

1) Would it be wise to book my flight now as I have the money and I don't want it to continue depreciating due to the exchange rate and increasing flight fares - Yes, if you are a risk taker. Personally, I won't take that risk. Convert your money to Dollars. The price of tickets in Dollars don't usually rise astronomically. It's the cost in Naira that goes up daily.

2) Is evidence of current NYSC and PPA sufficient to prove gainful employment? - I believe so

3) How do I prove that my dad is my sponsor? - Birth certificate, letter from your Dad and of cos, his statement of account(s)

4) Is there a lower limit to proof of funds? I'm only planning to stay 5-6 days just for the exams. I'm not sure what you mean by lower limit. For your short stay, a budget of 2,500 should work...

Hello people, I had a 6 months uk visa in 2023, used it and visited for a couple of weeks, 2022 the same thing, got 6 months visa, also used it to visit for a couple of weeks. based on visa cost and all, I think I want to apply for ten years visa. do you guys think I am qualified for it?
can one go from 6 months visa to 10 years visa? I read somewhere a while back that after 6 months, the next one you're eligible for is 2 years, but i saw a post here where one guy said he did 6 months and then did 5 years, so I'm wondering if i can do 10 years.
I do have a valid ten year canada visa(unused) in my new passport and an about to expire 2 year US visa(which i never used) in my old passport,
I have also had previous expired used Us visa's.

Also can i use pay stub in place of account statement?

Thanks in advance for your advice.

You can apply for 10 years. I believe you will get it. Your US and Canadian visas will help greatly.

I suggest you present your account statement for 6 months.

Of which my husband was going to fully sponsor as we stated that our reason for my application is to spend our honeymoon in the UK since we haven’t had time due to work. My husband already has a visa.
Which other documents can we attach because we want to reapply this is an attachment of the officer’s response for refusal

Sorry about the refusal.

My observations:

1. Your income is low.
2. The case worker did not believe you are genuinely married
3. The case worker did not think you have sufficient ties to Nigeria
4. You did not demonstrate how your income supports your cost of living

You have a lot of work to do. In my humble opinion, don't rush to reapply. If you genuinely want to travel for your honeymoon, travel to another Country. There are 194 Countries you can choose from.

I insist that UK will never stress you if you have half of the travel history you claim you have. Never. Take this from someone who has been travelling to the UK since 1977. Yes, 47 years.

Be true to yourself. We don't know you and you don't need to colour the truth. I doubt if you can afford the extensive travel history you claim based on your purported income. Too many holes in your story...

Reapply and present only relevant and genuine documents. I know very few people who have been to more than 15 Schengen Countries - and they are well heeled individuals....

Hello everyone, My mum visit visa was just refused yesterday. I stated on the application me and wife are the one sponsoring her and we attached our bank statements with savings of £3k for her needs.
She's a petty trader though, she sell in a very small scale which I mentioned in the cover letter attached.
The money in her bank statement is mainly money I sent her every month or weekly for upkeep and other allowance.
Please we want to put in another application for her as soon as possible, if you anybody can point me to what I need to do correctly to avoid another refusal please.
We really need her to come because my wife as to resume work as her maternity leave is coming to end very soon.
Any help will be appreciated guys.
Thank you. I attached the refusal screenshot In the post.

Sorry about the refusal. You should have asked for help before you applied. It is always better to avoid a refusal.

First, please reduce the length of stay. Three weeks max. Four months was a major error.

You need to send substantial money to your mum every month for six months - to prove you really support her financially. N330k send by you over 4 months is not substantial. Please increase your monthly allowance to your Mum for 6 months and present her statment for the six months - that should help.

Your savings as her sponsor should be more than 3K Pounds.

You need to prove she has strong ties to Nigeria and will not stay in the UK. From the write up, anyone can assume that she can easily stay in the UK as her petty trading business in Nigeria is not her main source of income.

You have a lot of work to do. Take your time and ensure you avoid a second refusal.

Good luck!

Good morning house I am a first timer here, I have used the link for applying to the US previously so i decided to check for a UK Victor's visa link. The US link helped so I am sure I will get the help I need here . I applied in 2021 for myself and 3 of my kids my son is a US citizen and didn't need to apply however he was mentioned as travelling with us. We were denied because I made alot of errors in application. On the individual budget instead of splitting cost for each person on their application I wrote the total cost for 5 of us on individual application. I was the sole sponsor with 6m bank balance and other investments. My husband was to sponsor but at the time of application he didn't have money in his account so I was sole sponsor on application. We were denied because I had huge sums of money going in and out of my account I tried to explain in a cover letter. Long and short we were denied. All this story is just to give a back ground information. I observed the ECO raises issues on opening balance, your monthly expenses in account vs disclosed in the form, your inflows(avoid any huge credits), ur disposal income, your intended expense for trip. It's alot.
Please I need advise on how to do the budget for a family of 5. I will sponsor myself my husband will sponsor the kids. How much will b reasonable as bank balance for submission, can a savings account be submitted 4 the sponsor , do we need to provide explanation for the inflows( sponsor not applying he has a 2 years visa running)
Will a budget of 2.5m per person for 10days be ok? I will also like to hear from successful applicants.
Thank you so much expectant to get advise from any one who can help.

2.5M is fine. You don't need that much per person if accomodation and feeding will be provided by family or friends. Maybe about 2M each.

You can sponsor yourself and your children if you have the money and your statement of account is more straightforward. When my children were younger, I sponsored them because my husband is a businessman while I have a good 8 to 5 job. There is no rule. Either of you can sponsor the children. Just ensure you can explain any money that reflects in your account and you don't have any huge deposit that might appear as "account padding".

Good luck!

Appreciate your responses.

You can get 2 years visa as a first timer. Very possible. Go ahead if you can risk the money involved.

Shouldn't be an issue. Most people don't use their middle name. You can call the airline to confirm.

Good morning Gurus in the house, and compliment of the season.
I applied for UK Visiting Visa and I was refused. Pls advice needed on reasons for the refusal.

The decision
I have refused your application for a visit visa because I am not satisfied that you meet the
requirements of paragraph(s) V4.2-V4.6 of Appendix V because;
• You have applied to visit the UK for the purpose of visiting relatives for 21 days.
• You state you are employed with a monthly income of 242,993.58 NGN (£239.42)
with savings of 1,936,488.00 NGN (£1,908.00). I note you intend to personally spend
2,500,000.00 NGN (£2,463.22) and your monthly spending is 150,000.00 NGN
(£147.79). You intend to stay with your brother.
• In support of your application, I note your salary statements, employment documents,
bank statement from GTCO (account ending Bleep) with a closing balance of
3,478,868.39 NGN (£3,427.69) and all other relevant documents you have submitted.
• I have acknowledged that your sponsor is willing to provide adequate support for a
limited visit to the United Kingdom; however, it is your circumstances and intentions
which are paramount in assessing your application. The personal bank statements
you provided shows large cash deposits. I am not satisfied that this information
represents an accurate reflection of your personal circumstances because
your accounts show irregular deposits that are not in keeping with your stated
income. The information submitted with your application offers no insight into how
these funds were accrued. I am therefore not satisfied that you have accurately
portrayed your financial circumstances. This in turn leads me to doubt your intentions
and credibility in wanting to travel on this occasion.
• Furthermore, I note your monthly disposable income is 92,998.10 NGN (£91.63). You
therefore intend to spend more than 25 months disposable income. I am not satisfied
you would be willing to spend such a disproportionate amount of your disposable
income on such a short visit to the UK. This damages the credibility of your
application. I am not satisfied your intentions to enter the UK are genuine.
• The factors mentioned above have not been taken in isolation but considered
collectively. They damage the overall credibility of your application, leading me to
doubt your intentions in seeking to visit the UK for the limited period and purpose
stated. From the information on your application form and the documents you have
submitted, I am not satisfied that you intend to leave the United Kingdom or that you
are genuinely seeking entry as a visitor. Your application is therefore refused under
paragraph V4.2 (a) and (c).

Thanks

Sorry about the refusal.

Your disposable income too low. That is the major issue. I don't see anything else wrong...

Build up your savings over a year or two and try again. Alternatively, your brother can offer to sponsor you 100%. That is usually dicey when you are young and have a regular income. The expectation is for you to sponsor yourself.

Perharps others can help.

I was just refused a UK visa, is there anything else I can do?. There were no other income asides from my salaries in my Naira or Dollar accounts and I included an explanation letter stating my incoming salary transactions each month of 450,000 and 180,000. Yet I got this refusal reply:

“The decision
I have refused your application for a visit visa because I am not satisfied that you meet the requirements of paragraph(s) 4.2 of Appendix V because:
• You have applied to visit the UK for 11 days for tourism.
• In support of your application you have provided your employer letter, pay slip, bank
statements and hotel booking.
• You state you are employed and self-employed with earning monthly income of 450000.00 NGN (£391.25 exchange rate at £1 = 1,150.16 @ www.oanda.com on 27/12/2023) and with annual income of 2160000.00 NGN (£1,878.00), you declare monthly expenditure of 90000.00 NGN (£78.2501). You state your trip to the UK will cost you 2000000.00 NGN (£1,738.89).
• I note you have provided personal statement from First Bank with account ending 3762. I note that your salary reflects in your bank statement. I note other than your salary there is unexplained transactions going through the account. The origin of these fund is unknown. Therefore I am not satisfied you have sufficiently demonstrated your financial circumstance or this funds will be available for the purpose of your trip.
• I acknowledge you have provided your personal bank statement in support of your application. However, the information provided that not demonstrate level of income your business generates or the level of income the business receives. I am therefore not satisfied that you have demonstrated your own personal circumstances or that they meet the requirements of entry clearance as a visitor.
• I note you have provided personal statement in USD from First Bank with account ending 8945. There are several unexplained transactions going through the account. The origin of these funds are unknown. Therefore I am not satisfied you have sufficiently demonstrated your financial circumstance or this funds will be available for the purpose of your trip.
• You also state in your visa application that you have savings of £9243.35. The information you have provided does not demonstrate the source of these funds and I am not satisfied that they are available to you.
• The documents you have provided do not demonstrate you hold any, assets or property in your country of residence. Nor, have not demonstrated strong family, social or economic ties to your country of residence which would satisfy me that you intend to leave the United Kingdom on completion of a short visit. On the evidence before me,
OFFICIAL-SENSITIVE

OFFICIAL-SENSITIVE
and the balance of probabilities, I am not satisfied that you have accurately presented your circumstances or intentions in wishing to enter the UK.
• Given the above I am therefore not satisfied that you have demonstrated your circumstances are as declared, which leads me to doubt your intentions in travelling to the UK. I am not satisfied that you are genuinely seeking entry for a purpose that is permitted under the visitor route and that you will leave the UK at the end of your visit. Your application is therefore refused under paragraph V 4.2 (a) and (c) of the immigration rules.

Sorry about the refusal. Your multiple sources of income confused the case worker. They find it hard to understand why you have a regular job and a side hustle.

Next time, please stick to one source of income - preferably your 8 to 5 job. Also, keep your account clean and devoid of transactions that cannot be traced to your job.

I hope this helps.

Please I have a question:

Can I apply for 10years straight after the expiration of my 6-months Visit Visa?
What is the possibility of been given?
And what are the things I can do with the 6-month Visit Visa before it expires that can help me get a 10-year straight?

Thanks...

Try. If you can risk the money for the visa. Nobody can assure you of success.

Hello everyone,
Please my cousins Visa was refused because she used non genuine bank statement and she has received here refusal mail. My question now is

1. When is it likely for them to call her to pick up her passport Most likely this week
2. She received the refusal mail since Friday and she is yet to receive mail for her to pick her passport from VAC She will receive an email this week
3. Are they going to withhold her passport NO
4. Also the school said they won’t refund because of the refusal reason.. is this contestable. Please read the school's policy on refund. If the policy stipulates that no refund if visa is refused based on fake document or information, then the money is gone

PS: She is devastated already and she knows she did wrong by submitting fake bank statement. Way forward is what she needs. Thanks as you are kind with your responses
Perharps she can share her story so that others can advise. If an agent applied for her with a fake document, she should ensure she gets all the information from the agent so that she can provide all the information whenever she wants to reapply.

I believe she has learnt her lesson. Sometimes, it is best to learn the hard way.
