Thank you for your visa/entry clearance application which has been received and is under consideration. We aim to process non settlement applications within 15 working days and settlement applications within 60 working days (unless you have opted for a Priority Visa service).

We are unable to resolve your application within these customer service targets, due to operational restrictions. Please be assured that we will continue to progress your application to enable a decision to be made as soon as possible.

Please do not attend the application centre until you have been contacted by the VAC.

They just need more time to assess you application. Nothing to worry about.

I am filling out visitor visa applications for a mother and daughter. The estimated travel expenses for the two of them, including tickets and hotel, are about $2000. They are going for 7 days.

Please, how do I answer these questions for the daughter, who is less than 4 years old?

1. How much money are you personally planning to spend on your visit to the UK? I don’t know how to answer this. Should I put the plane ticket alone or what? I estimate the plane ticket for the daughter to be $550.

2. What is the total amount you spend each month? Should I put zero for her.

1. i admit the question is a bit confusing. When my children were Minors, I would put the total budget for each child. In your case, put the total budget for her in Pounds (not Dollars)

2. The field will not accept zero so put like 10 pounds.

Sorry about this, I have the same issue but mine was from Canada. Got banned for 5 years and my dependents was refused, I don't know the chances of my partner if applied to UK through study route.
I intended to write an apology letter to ircc concerning the ban just to redeem my image and probably after some years I can apply to UK as well.

Please I need more input

Wait out your ban. Your partner can apply to UK.

My question is. Is it compulsory to upload the statement itself?

Good morning, guys! Please, I need information on how to apply for a UK visitor visa for an adult and her 3-year-old child.

How do I apply for both applications together, if possible?

If not, can I use the same email address for both applications?

The applications are for a mother and her daughter.

Fill one form for each person. One form per person.

You can use same email address. I did that for years when my children were minors.

You need to book the same date and time for biometrics - for the monther and child.

Hope this helps. Good luck!

It's all because UK is relatively easy to get than other countries such as Canada that do take ages and two of my sibling are there and establish compare to Canada that we have nobody.....

Then you should have tried Canada and waited patiently. Patience is a virtue and you really need to calm down and plan your next moves strategically...

Thanks so much ,We are considering exploring other countries such as Canada or Finland but to be on a safer side , Canada is not a joke when it comes to visa issuing, just imagine what UK that a bite easy that got me.... That's why I'm thinking if only my husband can travel for now and children going vac there until got his ILR....
Do you think my dependants are not affected or is the ban extended to them? , were they also banned?.

Your husband can try for UK student visa. The journey to ILR is long and the outcome is not certain. You are assuming ILR is certain. It is not. Your dependants are not banned - but your ban is likely to affect them. It appears you just want to leave Nigeria by all means possible. Calm down and think this through. Otherwise, you will end up wasting scarce resources and valuable time.

Good day everyone. I'm planning to apply for a visiting Visa to the UK.

I'm a salary earner of #120k monthly and my brother who resides in the UK wants me to come visit. He'll sponsor my trip.

He's proposing on funding my account with all the money needed for everything.

Please is this a good idea?
Wont it raise suspicion?

What is the best way to go about this without getting a visa refusal

Your brother can sponsor your trip. However it is your personal and economic circumstances that will determine the outcome of the application. I suggest he provides his statement of account - rather than send the money to you. It is not a good idea for him to send the funds to your account as it might appear as "account padding".

Hope this helps.

Good morning my oga's at the top , please my family applied for skills health work visa unfortunately the COS given to us was fake because i got 10 years banned for summiting fake certificate of sponsorship COS while my dependants husband, kids got refusal letters with present condition of Nigeria we can't just stay one place for the sake of our kids so we have decided that my husband go for MSc or even through skills work if he can get valid COS, my question is will my banned as the main applicant affect my "dependants" ,husband and kids future applications if they decide to reapply.
below is my banned letter and my dependant husband refusal letter..
Please will my dependants also get the 10 years or it's just A NORMAL REFUSAL they get?... should my husband go ahead with MSc or get a valid COS to reapply please for the sake of our kids....

Your husband can apply for student visa. You cannot join him as a dependant - neither can your children. Essentially, I don't see any advantage in him applying for student visa. I suggest you try another Country. Leave UK for now. The ban you got is going to cause a lot of issues.....

Hello @Cashmadam,

Thank you for this.
Do you mean that she would not need an updated CAS, and that a receipt of the additional payment would satisfy the visa officer?

She will need an updated CAS. The receipt of payment should also be added. However, I know someone who didn't wait for updated CAS as it was taking too long. He submitted the receipt of payment - so we assumed the visa officer reached out to the school to confirm. Bottomline, he got the visa.

Is TLS now turning to American Visa Appointment? No available slot from now till June for TLS Ikeja...I dont know whats going on.

I can't see any appointment dates from today 5th May till end of June for regular self service. I tried to check for July, but the system hasn't even allocated time slots for July.

The available dates that are blocked out with white background are for "Regular Service with avialble upgrade to premium". When I select this, it asks me to confirm if I want premium service. I decline, and it cancels out.

Check very late at night or very early in the morning. 11pm to 2am

Choose regular but don't upgrade. It usually works.

I have a full-time job which I have not mentioned the salary. But on the average we paid 4000 pounds per month for 4 months. We had no rent to pay in those 4 months because we had paid 4 months in advance in December.

This is very doable - with discipline, hardwork and prayers. Congratulations dear. I hope your husband appreciates all your sacrifices and support. You don't need to explain how it happened to anyone. God did it.

My wife is the student and I’m the dependent. My employer has sent my COS, under the new entrant condition ( working toward being chartered in profession). I earn above the new minimum salary but below standard going rate of my job code. Just want to confirm because you’ve responded to someone saying the new entrant is not applicable to dependents.

I believe you are good to go. The only issue might be your salary being below the going rate for your job code. I suggest you double check with your employer. They are in the best position to advise you.

The suspense is killing me guys, should I expect another email stating the UKVI's decision? because all I got was the collection email so far. The application was for standard visitor visa

I'm pretty sure you got the visa.

Thank you so much. I put in that she has children and parents. Do I need to write it as a separate letter? Then the account statement should be how many months?

She can include a cover letter. Or additional information section. State the details of her children (names, DOB, schooling etc) and include copies of their birth certificates. Provide some information about her parents and emphasis their ages and the fact that she takes care of them. Her ties will be her children and aged parents - who she takes care of and cannot abandon to stay in the UK illegally. Her write up needs to be convincing as we have seen / heard of people abandoning spouse, children and parents in Nigeria (a very familiar story to visa officers). 6 months statement of account.

okay. Thanks. Any suggestions what she can do? If the company puts the money in the account will it move the needle? When filling the form do I tick she is going to be using her own personal savings?

That will look suspicious. The company does not need to put any money in her account. She will tick sponsored. She should just provide her account statement and prove her ties to Nigeria. Very simple really.

I had applied for IW for my dad -- but instead he got his passport back with form 221g. No reason was indicated on the form itself.

I booked his interview appointment which happened Wednesday. I had suspected he was summoned to appear in-person because he had stayed in the U.S for 22 weeks on his last visit. And sure enough, during the interview, he was asked to explain the extended stay. He was there for medicals and it took weeks to run diagnostics and tests -- not to mention, another couple of months to get an appointment for surgery. Of course he was asked to provide documents to support the claims: luckily he brought his medical receipt, showing payment (with zero balance) along with dated transcripts of his hospital visits. This is important.

He was asked a few more questions: like purpose of trip this time, how long he intends to stay, etc. Visa was approved and the process lasted 10 minutes.

Anyway, I haven't been on this forum in a couple of years but just wanted to share the experience in case it might help someone in a similar situation. I just wish they would make the 221g a bit clearer so the candidate can come prepared. I had only second-guessed and fortunately he brought the documents; otherwise, this could have gone either way.

One other thing that stood out to me: he mentioned that the process has changed a bit from the last time he visited the embassy back in 2019. He said, they now scrutinize applicants and some are sent away without an interview during the pre-screening process prior to being allowed in. I thought that was wild considering the time and cost involved in applying only to be told one doesn't qualify for interview.

Thank you for sharing your Dad's experience. I'm sure it will help some people. Most applicants turned back don't have passport pictures that meet the requirement. They are usually asked to go and take another passport picture. One or two other things might be wrong with their application. They don't turn back people without reason. I was in the embassy earlier in the year and that was my observation.

Thanks for this William. And @yomifola. Very helpful.

I do have another question. This is around currency fluctuation.

On the day the required amount (for school fees, accommodation/living costs) was deposited in her account, an extra 20% was added, to proactively cushion any exchange rate fluctuations. As of today, due to currency fluctuation, that amount no longer meets the required amount when converted to GBP.

My questions:
* what is the best way to handle this issue
* if more funds are added to her account today, will she have to wait another 28 days before applying for her visa?
* if more funds are added to her account today, and she goes ahead to apply for her visa, would it help to take snapshots of the oando rates, with dates, and write a letter to explain the currency fluctuation?
* does the currency exchange rate on the 1st day of the 28 days matter, would it help if supported by showing the oando rate on that day?

This is really a dilemma.

Simply pay more money to the school and provide evidence of that. If you pay more more into the account, you will need to count 28 days all over again. The visa officer checks the exchange rate on the day you submitted your visa form. No other date matters to them.

Secondly I have a friend who is a registered nurse Bsc with her RN. Mide wife. She couldn't break through care assistant because of UK experience. Right now she does 10hrs cleaning per week job
They value UK experience more than anything. But if u can get an agency that can train and give u shift then with that experience gotten from UK u can break through.

The koko na UK experience. Me self don find care tire. Did some training on flowrence.

That is not true. Hull will log you out of the student portal if you do not meet the payment terms. Do you school in Hull?

Please see the attached refusal letter. What can I do to improve this my people? Should the company put the money in her account? Does the difference between her earning and the amount the company is using to sponsor make it look suspect? She works in a legit company but their salary I must say is low and we didnt put her salary account statement with the application though we put 6 months pay slip and the company's letter detailing they will sponsor her.

Please help

1. Her salary is low but should not be an issue really. If she presents her case very well
2. She must include her statement(s) of account + payslips
3. She must demonstrate her ties to Nigeria - partner? children? aged parent? property? school? Anything to prove that she will come back to Nigeria
4. The major reason for the denial is that she did not say much about herself . She focused on presenting documents about her company.

Good morning. She must include her own statements of account - regardless of the sponsorship. The low statement might be an issue. The logic is simple. The visa officers always want to be sure that an individual can afford the trip - in the unlikely event the sponsor disappoints for any reason. Therefore, even with a sponsor, it is preferable for an individual to have more than enough funds to sponsor the trip him/herself. I hope I make sense.

Pick a slot that is not greyed out. It looks like prime time / flexi but most are not. You will be asked if you want to upgrade. Just say no and check out. You won't be charged any money. Check all the boxes not greyed out - usually 8.30am slot.

I'm really worried. I paid for DHL to the east so I'm expecting it by Tuesday but I would like to know the outcome before they get the passport.
Is there a way to know before getting the passport?

If you received only collection email, then they most likely got the visa. The refusal email is usually sent after the first collection email. Keep us informed.
