I want you to see this as a lesson in life never to be too sure of something or anybody aside what you have in your hands.
I'm having a similar experience now for 2001 camry that i have pre-order for like seven months now although not a NL. The guy in question delivered an odyssey for me sometimes last year within a very short time and have been having trouble getting this done with so much stories. I dont want to have heartache as i know am much more than whatever i deposited with him. This i want you to understand and let all these side comments from everybody not bother you because if you have really worked hard for your money, some of these comments are really annoying.
Take your time which i can see you are doing and let go the steam. If you are not interested again in the ride, connect with your folks to get him to sell it and get your dough back and look before you leap some other time.

Please dont take offence with every word he has said as it was said in the heat of the moment. PLEASE dont make unrealistic promises to prospective buyers; this is what you get. And who says he cant do another deal with German?

Thanks for the response and the suggestions given thus far.
What i don't want to get into is the guess work of these mechanics. I will confront the guy with the first option ASAP, feel his pulse on it after all, it is my pocket that we are looking at here.
Again, the suggestions look a little bit technical for me but what the worst case  scenario we are looking at here? Can i loose my engine completely? or i would just succeed in damaging my valves? please help out on this.

I would try out the Mobil 1 during my next Oil change to give the car the benefit of doubt

It's been a wonderful experience on this thread and like it has been said, Seal 777 do have your paper checked well before travelling out of Lagos especially to the East. My engine change had no problem until six months after along Warri / Yenegoa road; it was nasty experience with my whole family in the car

Kindly advise on what can be the issue with a Honda Odyssey 2000 V6 3.5Ltrs engine that rattle at RPM of about 3000 and speeds lower than 40KM/hr. The car odometer is about 130KM. I use Mobil XHP and with what i read on the thread, i want to have a shot at Mobil 1
