lavylilly: You either stay in Ibeju-lekki axis or Iyana Oworo but budget about 300k annually for rental for self contained (the size of the apartment will be very small) don't make the mistake of staying in Lekki Phase 1 or 2, house rent na die.
A survey co ducted by Nigeria Stats says 67.3 % of people working on the island stay on the mainland, places like Bariga, Ketu, Berger, Ikotun, Ikorodu, Mile 2, Mushin to mention a few
In respect to traffic, be ready to be in traffic for hours and wake up as early as 5:00am if you stay on the island (Ibeju-lekki) but 6:00am if you will be residing in Iyana oworo.
As regards island we have the Ikoyi, VI and Oniru, the water there is better than the ones in Lekki, Maruwa, Ikate, some parts of Ibeju-lekki and VGC. Food is very expensive ensure the jobs pays above 250k so as to "survive" the Island.
The following eats into your salary Food Transportation (especially raining season) Rent Your social vices
Last bullet: Save save and save thanks sir really appreciate |

Ceeman2o: You're just explaining your fears. The reality is your budget can't get you a house in ikoyi or lekki or ajah. Last time I looked for a house around Surulere, I couldn't see a self con less than 500k aside agency fees. The shit is real. We're just giving you advice, many people plying mainland to island everyday wouldn't want it but they can't afford the rent on island. So brace up. Even the 400_450k budget, you'll never get a house at the mainland areas with such. You'll need to about 700k to sort agency fees nd rent for a room self con. That amount can only get you a room face me I face you only with agency fees at Yaba and surulere. Thank you haaaanawao so this Lagos talk nah true🤦 |

BlackyOne: And you want to stay in Ikoyi abi
Is Tilumbu Lagos a joke to you?
Please join us in paying 350-500k for a room self in mainland joor, try Costain, Ebutte metta, surulere as your best bet... or wait till Obi fully take over Lagos so we can smile and buy houses in Lekki, Ikoyi and V.I sir is because I don't really know about Lagos and I wanted something easy for me that's why especially the traffic, if not that salary is a change nah |

frozen70: Lagos is a friendly and accommodating state
No matter the struggle you will still succeed
For feeding, you can get rice 150, Beans 100, Meat 100 good to eat
Since your office is at Ikoyi, look for accommodation in areas like Yaba, Akoka, Shomolu, Palm Grove, these are areas to get strait bus to the Island
As for the traffic, you will just join and fit in because you must experience it through and flow
You will meet the good, the bad and the worst set of people 😰 not yet in Lagos but started regretting already |

thedarkened: Since you mentioned that staying in the mainland is not an issue, then chose areas in the mailand that's a bit close to ikoyi, while you discipline yourself to wake up and leave home for work latest by 5 a.m everyday. Ceteris paribus, you will beat traffic everyday.
That's what I do. ok that's sir |

Ceeman2o: .
This can't afford any house at the island. Even far away sangotedo, you'll need above 500k aside agency fees. Even 400k aside agency fees wouldn't get you a decent self con at neighborhood mainland areas.. that amount is poor enough to get you a house within Lagos mainland town close to island. am just afraid of the traffic bro if not am ok with mainland for just main time |

esthel: OP...take this advice especially Ebute Metta and Yaba then Surulere.....if you can get a shared apartment it will be better. Don't go and stay on the island, Ajah or after Ajah o, you will just be frustrated, the traffic is overwhelming. hmmmm am so frustrated already not even as am not yet in Lagos, have heard allot about Lagos life seriously I don't like it, especially the traffic and how rent are so expensive, I should have stay back here in abj🤦 please where in Lagos are you staying |
Jobs/Vacancies › Re: I Have Gotten A Job And Am Relocating To Lagos, by Cazzim(op): 4:36pm On Feb 28, 2023 |
Ceeman2o: Chief with this salary range, you're better off around mainland areas close to ikoyi. Like Lagos mainland and surulere. Unless you choose sangotedo part of lekki Those side you can get self con from 600k aside agency fees. A room in a shared apartment in lekki phase one and 2 is from 1.5m (agency fees not included) above depending on estates. Flats are from 2m above. Ikoyi it's self cost more compared to lekki. Self con in ajah part of lekki cost from 750k without agency fees.
Self con around surulere and Lagos mainland LGA cost from 450k without agency fees.
So make your choice. If your salary isn't above 500k pls resist every urge to stay in lekki phase 1 and 2. Unless you don't have plans to have enough money. bro 400 to 450k is my budget |

However, due to the closure/rehabilitation of the apongbon bridge you will be facing traffic issues especially on the Carter bridge I hate Lagos already dam,, have head allot about Lagos, sir how much can I budget for those places u mention but that traffic is something else. |

riverbird: You are highly welcome 🤗, just make sure you arrange well and keep it in mind that house agents collect more than the real house owner, if you pay 2m for a 2br apartment just keep 1.6 for agent and keep another 500k fo agreement and another 200k for security. you most be kidding right, what a f**k😳 |

thesicilian: I think it actually the the opposite, when you factor in the transportation, feeding and stress of living so far away from work. Not to talk about the amount of time (which is a literally a percentage of your life) you waste on the road in traffic daily. That's my opinion though. that's what am also thinking bro |

Romance › Re: An Open Letter To The Man Who Loves Me Next by Cazzim(m): 7:22am On Feb 28, 2023 |
BluntMadmoiselle: I know you haven’t met me yet, but I wish I could give you this letter to let you know what to expect. I’ve already had my heart broken by the wrong men, and I don’t want it to happen again. I know we’ll meet soon and fall in love. If only I could prepare you so things would be easier, I’m sure we’d both be happier. I’m excited to work through our ups and downs — I just hope you feel the same way.
I’M GUARDED AT FIRST, SO GIVE ME TIME.:
I don’t trust easily, but I’ll get there if you just have patience. I have to test the waters and make sure you’re worthy of my trust. It’s nothing against you, so just please be patient.
I TAKE THINGS SLOW, SO DON’T GIVE UP.:
I’m not one to have sex on the first date. I can’t tell you when it’ll happen, but we’ll get there. I’m also not interested in getting married quickly. I’ll bolt if you move too fast. Stick with me, though — after all, slow and steady wins the race (or something like that).
I’LL BE FAITHFUL, BUT I EXPECT NOTHING LESS IN RETURN.
You’ll never have to worry about me cheating. When I commit, it’s with my whole heart. I’ll never stray. Just remember, I expect the same type of commitment from you.
IF YOU CHEAT, IT’S OVER — NO SECOND CHANCES. I’ve been cheated on before and I don’t want to go through that again. If you cheat, even if it’s just one kiss, our relationship is over. I don’t give second chances, no matter what excuse you give .
I’M NOT PERFECT AND I WILL MAKE MISTAKES.
I have my flaws and I’m sure I’ll do things to annoy you or piss you off. Neither of us are perfect, but I’m willing to apologize when I screw up and I hope you are, too.
WE’LL FIGHT, BUT WE’LL WORK THINGS OUT.
I’m not exactly a quiet woman. If you piss me off, I’ll let you know. Yes, that means we’ll fight sometimes, but if you give me a few hours to cool off, we’ll talk things out and figure out how to fix what’s wrong.
I’M READY TO COMPROMISE… TO A POINT.
I know relationships require compromise, but I won’t compromise on everything . Ask me to sleep on the left side of the bed and I might agree. Ask me to give up my career and we’ll have a problem.
I’M NOT ALWAYS THE EASIEST TO LOVE.
It takes patience, a good sense of humor, and forgiveness to love me. I won’t always make it easy. Sometimes you’ll wonder why you’re with me. I’ll do my best to give you plenty of reasons and memories to always give you an answer to that question.
I OFTEN GET CARRIED AWAY WITH MY CAREER.
I never mean to put you second, I’ve just always gotten easily carried away with my career. Even in school, I have a single-minded focus on doing my best. Just get my attention and remind me what’s most important.
I WON’T BE AROUND 24/7.
I love you, but I don’t want to be around you 24/7. I need time to myself to do things you might not enjoy. It doesn’t mean I don’t enjoy your company. I just need some alone time now and then.
I’M SARCASTIC, SO DON’T TAKE IT PERSONALLY.
I’ve mastered the fine art of sarcasm. Please don’t take it personally. If it’s ever too much, just let me know and I’ll try to ease up. Did I mention you’ll need a good sense of humor to be with me?
I’LL GIVE YOU MY BEST, BUT YOU’LL ALSO SEE MY WORST.
I promise to always try and give you my best, but it won’t always work that way. You’ll see me vomiting with the flu or bitching over everything when PMS gets the best of me.
I’M NOT GOING TO LIKE EVERYTHING YOU LIKE.
I know you want me to love all your interests, but I won’t. I’ll like some of them and I’ll happily do those with you. The rest you’ll have to do on your own or with your friends. I already have my own interests and I’m sure you’ll dislike some of those too.
I’M DEVOTED TO MY FAMILY.
My family loved me before I even knew you. Don’t ask me to give them up. They’re important to me and I won’t stay if you ask me to choose.
ALL I WANT IS YOUR LOVE, RESPECT AND HONESTY.
I know it sounds like a tall order, but in the end, I just want real love, your full respect and of course, honesty. If any of these are missing, we don’t have a chance at a lasting relationship.
IF YOU CAN’T MEET THE ABOVE, PLEASE DON’T LEAD ME ON.
I’d rather you tell me now that you can’t be the man I need you to be. Don’t lead me on. It’ll hurt more the longer you draw it out. I hope this helps you understand me and what I need. I look forward to falling in love with you.
From your future wifey **wink** ok I prayed you fine your perfect match,,, where are you staying in Lagos, can we be friends just friends if you don't mind |
