Popular Nollywood actor and singer, Moses Armstrong has been arrested by men of the Akwa Ibom State Police Command for allegedly defiling a 16-year-old girl. Confirming his arrest, the national president of the Actors Guild of Nigeria, Emeka Rollas, during a chat with Qed.ng, described the case as “a very serious one”. He said it is being handled by the First Lady of the state, Martha Udom Emmanuel through her Family Empowerment and Youth Re-Orientation Path Initiative. The AGN president added that the accusation was a sad development, as it involves one of their own. However, he said the organisation will not condone such a crime. “To get involved with a child as young as 16yrs, is not something I and the association I represent, would stand for. “This is a very sad development involving a member of ours, but I wouldn’t want to comment any further on this case,” he said. video evidence will be posted tommorow instagram @iamchrisbassey

OCHENDU WHY ARE YOU NOT LOOKING HAPPY? I know you will like me to react to that unfortunate statement made by a lowlife who claims to be an actress; well the statement is unwarranted, distasteful and misleading. We all know Muna Obiekwe lived a private life but those who claim to be godmother and godfather should have let out a cry. I didn’t know that muna was sick, the same godmother should have told the world that her godson was sick, knowing that her godson was anti social and anti media, telling the whole world that her godson was heavily into smoking and drinking is uncalled for. What a cheap point was she trying to score? The news about town now is that Muna lived a reckless life, wherever that young man is now I swear down, he will not be happy with that statement, I am particularly indignant and resent over that unfortunate statement. http://chrisbassey..com/2015/01/i-cant-be-led-by-ex-convict-mc-smith.html SO WHAT IS NOLLYWOOD DOING ABOUT THE WHOLE THING? I detest nollywood people, Muna Obiekwe has become an object of mockery and disdain, I am even angry with the leadership of actors guild of Nigeria, There is no official statement from our so called president. Though shes not my president, I cant be lead by an Ex convict, I’m a principled man a red cap chief in my town besides I cant stoop so low to allow an Egyptian preside over the house of Isreal http://chrisbassey..com/2015/01/i-cant-be-led-by-ex-convict-mc-smith.html WHY? Actor’s guild of Nigeria has become a dumping ground for all manner of people, where homosexuals and lesbians always have a field day, There is no regulation in AGN prostitute and criminals have hijacked the guild and our roles models now warm politicians bed. How if I may ask? You will see them at political rallies falling over themselves for the crumbs from the table of dirty politician who embezzle funds meant for the development of their state, they have become praise singers. Nonsense. They are all Sons and Daughters of Pharaoh whose presence activate terror. And the only time you see them is when somebody dies, then they will come for the wake keep, clad in white then taking snapshots with their blackberry phones to me that’s mocking the dead. I call them demon’s from the pit of hell. Chris Bassey I am done talking for now, I am really not happy. |

I was enjoying my marriage until my husband's friend who is a love-vendor and works with immigration sent nudé pics of 2 of his girls to my husband phone via What's App. He sent the two girls Susan and Ada all the way from Port-harcourt to Abuja to come and have séx with my husband just for money which the prostitutés did. Two weeks after the prostitutés travelled back to Port Harcourt, one of them named Susan continued from where he stopped and sent pictures of her fellow LovePeddler nick named Koko to my husband Via What's App. the photos are unable to attach but visit the below blog for details http://chrisbassey..com/2014/12/please-advice-heart-broken-wife-shares.html#more |
President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan congratulates the Super Eagles of Nigeria on their dogged and hard-fought victory over the Red Devils of Congo this evening in Pointe Noire which has revived Nigeria’s hopes of qualifying for next year’s African Nations Cup Finals. President Jonathan applauds the Super Eagles’ patriotic, determined and very courageous display in front of a very vociferous, aggressive and partisan home crowd which earned them an emphatic 2-0 victory and placed Nigeria in a good position once again for qualification to defend the African Nations Cup which it currently holds at the next year’s finals, now scheduled to hold in Equatorial Guinea. On behalf of all soccer loving Nigerians, the President heartily commends the Super Eagles for their winning performance in Pointe-Noire which has wiped away the disappointment of their earlier outings in the Nations Cup qualifying series and rekindled the belief of Nigerians in their national soccer team’s ability to bring further glory to the country www.chrisbassey..com |

This week, we are going to put the spotlight on fake Abuja big boys, FABBs too – they are all FABBs. These guys are always well-dressed with flashy cars. Some of them are even from rich homes. You see them looking like a bag of money, meanwhile nothing in their bank accounts. There is nothing wrong with looking good and not having money to back it up. There is only something wrong when you are doing it for packaging. Continue below... http://chrisbassey..com/2014/09/how-to-spot-fake-abuja-big-boy_2.html 1. Always with the fake accent: Apparently, this is not exclusive to the babes. The male FABBs use all the accents in the world; British, American and Nigerian accent all muddled up in one. If they are talking to a babe who probably lived in the UK with a British accent, their accent automatically changes just to impress. Please, embrace your Nigerian accent, whether it is an Igbo, Yoruba or Hausa accent, be proud of it. You don’t see an American man trying to talk like a Nigerian. 2. He only dates working girls: This is a highly defining character of the male FABB. They do not date jobless babes. If you don’t have a J -O -B, then it’s onto the next one. They do not want to be bothered about taking care of a babe who’s probably still in school or sharing CV about. That is not in their dictionary of potential girlfriends. 3. He drives the flashiest of flashy cars: Warning: Don’t be deceived, the car belongs to their father or uncle. 4. He always has a political connection: A typical Abuja boy is always related to some politician or influential person. The politicians are always their uncle but hardly ever their father. Sometimes, it could even be a politician they have met once- he becomes their uncle. 5. He is a mummy’s boy: Most of the rich male FABBs live off the wealth of their family who still pay for everything they own. If you know a guy who lives in a very expensive duplex in Maitama but does not have a regular job, check that guy! They probably even get monthly allowance from their parents every month as grown men. Hey, not judging, you do you. 6. He immediately introduces you to his family/friends: Imagine you meet this nice looking guy in Abuja, and before you know it, he has introduced you to his family and friends. In your mind, you are thinking that you are an iyawo (wife in the Yoruba language), not knowing you are girlfriend no. 9. 7. He spontaneously proposes to you after a short period of dating: They tell you that you are a wife material or even propose marriage so they can be living off their new working class babe. You would cook, clean and before you know it, you have turned to their provider. Their food, shelter, and clothing would be taken care of by the working class babe. They start with “Please, borrow me N10, 000, I would pay you back.” Next time, it’s N20, 000 and then it keeps increasing. Of course, the babe will never get her money back. If you are guilty of this, it’s not good o! It should be a joint effort. 8. He only remembers his babe on Thursdays: This is the time to remember all the hook-ups they have forgotten from Monday to Wednesday. They need to get a babe to turn up with during the weekend. If Halima doesn’t respond, Salewa will. After all there are many fishes in the sea. 9. He doesn’t have a proper job: This is not referring to the guys who genuinely work/hustle for their money from Monday to Friday to make ends meet. Thumbs up! This is for the guys who claim they work during the week but people still cannot point a finger on what they do. On Friday, they would be the first to update their status with: “Turn up weekend, TGIF”. 10. He’s always the first to pop bottles in the club: They are always the first to order bottles just to impress. When it’s time to pay, they would remember they have to go to the bathroom. It’s not by force to pop champagne. After popping and being forced to pay, they come home to eat noodles. Bear in mind that the money would have bought you a nice plate of jollof rice and a big fat chicken. So, there you have the Fake Abuja Big Boy, FABB away. http://chrisbassey..com/2014/09/how-to-spot-fake-abuja-big-boy_2.html |
Sunday 24th of October was a tragic day in the city of Abeokuta in Ogun State, when a middle-aged man Oluwagbeminija Rhodes allegedly drowned in the popular Ogun River while trying to rescue his son, Gbeminiyi who was drowning. The tragedy occurred when Rhodes, a bus driver, and the pioneer chairman of Moshood Abiola Polytechnic, Abeokuta Shuttle Bus Association, took his bus for washing at the bank of the river at Lafenwa end. http://chrisbassey..com/2014/08/commercial-bus-driver-drowns-while.html Vanguard gathered that Gbeminiyi, the son of the deceased who accompanied him to wash his car, suddenly missed his steps and fell into the river while playing at the bank. This prompted his father to quickly jump into the river in a bid to save him. According to an eye witness, Rhodes was unable to rescue his son, but drowned in the process while Gbeminiyi was later rescued by people living by the river bank. The son was later rushed to the hospital where he was revived. However, the floating corps was later recovered by some fishermen when it surfaced at Oriyanrin area, which is about three kilometres from where the tragedy occurred the next day. The current chairman of MAPOLY Shuttle Bus Association, Mr. Adedolapo Adekunle confirmed the incident and said they were unable to recover the corpse as soon as the incident occurred due to the fact that the river was full. “We heard about the incident on Sunday and we consulted the fishermen and other experts immediately but they told us that the river was full and that they had to wait for the body to float the third day or make attempt if there was sufficient sun on Monday. “Luckily yesterday (Monday), it was sunny and his body was later recovered at Oriyanrin. We later paid for some rituals before his body was released,” he said. The remains of the deceased was later committed to mother-earth in his yet to be completed building in Ikolaba community, Olomoore, Abeokuta North Local Government Area. http://chrisbassey..com/2014/08/commercial-bus-driver-drowns-while.html |
Nigerian Minister for Health, Professor Onyebuchi Chukwu has confirmed that the Lagos nurse who travelled to Enugu against medical advice is now back in Lagos and is under quarantine with her husband. The nurse, who had contact with Liberian-American Patrick Sawyer, caused a stir on Wednesday when it was discovered that she had travelled to Enugu and had contact with at least 21 people during her unauthorized trip to the Southeastern city. However, Chukwu says the nurse has so far not developed the symptoms as of the time of her trip. “In Enugu yesterday, there were 21 secondary contacts with the nurse. But after investigations, there are only 6 secondary contacts now”, he said in Abuja on Thursday. The nurse who is newly wedded had no symptoms of the disease when she travelled to Enugu, was transported back to Lagos in a special ambulance with her husband. Her husband is under quarantine now”. Chukwu also confirmed that a Nigerian in the Diaspora was sending an experimental drug for Ebola treatment, and the drug, whose name is ‘Nanosilver’, would arrive in Nigeria today. “The experimental drug is a donation from a Nigerian scientist in Diaspora who was concerned about threat of Ebola in his home country. The drug will reach Nigeria today”, he said. On updates on Ebola cases in Nigeria, he said some of the 169 secondary contacts of Sawyer were no longer under surveillance and had been released, having completed the 21 days of incubation period. http://chrisbassey..com/2014/08/ebola-nurse-who-escaped-quarantine-to.html |
According to reports, armed men yesterday night attacked an Ebola isolation centre in the densely populated Monrovia suburb of Westpoint, Liberia. 29 patients under quarantine reportedly fled the centre. Some reports say the armed men were residents of the area who looted materials used by quarantine patients. A witness of the attack, Rebecca Wesseh said "They broke down the doors and looted the place. The patients all fled” The Head of Health Workers Association of Liberia, George Williams has confirmed the sad incident. But who goes to steal from sick, quarantined people? Are they mentally alright? http://chrisbassey..com/2014/08/armed-men-attack-monrovia-ebola-clinic.html

When the news of Julius Agwu contesting for Rivers State Governorship elections broke out few days ago a lot of people thought it was a joke and some even said the comedian was only just trying to promote his UK show. But it seems a lot of people might be wrong as Julius says it’s for real and even took out time to grant The SUN newspaper an interview, though he admits his wife is scared, he says, but you know that’s how women are. Hmm, I really hope Julius is not still playing a big joke on us. Part of the interview after the cut. Lately there have been reports that you are gunning for Governor of Rivers State. Is it true? Yes it is true and ever since that story broke I have been receiving calls and getting text messages from people. Even on social media, people have been telling me to just stick with comedy. They think it’s just another joke from me but it’s not. I mean to contest in 2015. I am above 40, to be precise I am 41 and I doubt if those who go for governorship have two heads. I think it’s high time youths realise they need to be part of the change that they so much desire and that’s exactly what I am doing. http://chrisbassey..com/2014/08/rivers-governorship-election-im.html For how long have you been nurturing this ambition? It’s been on for a very long time but I was a bit sceptical whether the time was right or not. However, after consulting with my people and the subsequent pressure they mounted on me, I finally took the bait to contest. The governor, Chibuike Rotimi Ameachi is from my ethic group; he’s Ikwere like I am and he has done a good work for the people of Rivers State. I am here to continue the good work he has started. As a matter of fact, I don’t want anybody to come and make a mess of his achievement so I want to continue and be able to build on his achievement. You are from the same ethnic group with Governor Ameachi. Is that not a treat to your ambition regarding the principle of rotation? It’s not. Governorship is not rotational. There is no such thing in the Nigerian constitution; everybody, anybody has a right to contest. We don’t know you as a card bearer of any party… That is the mystery. A lot of people have been asking that under what platform am I running and all that. What I say to them is that they should wait, we will unveil the party very soon (laughs). For now I am concentrating on my UK tour. Politics is a dirty game and you have managed to build yourself a good name and a formidable brand. Are you not scared this could mar your name? I don’t intend to play any dirty politics; that’s the truth about it. As you pointed out I have got a good reputation and a lot of people ask if I am ready to swim in this murky waters. That’s why I need your prayers. What’s your vision for your state? Like I told you, Governor Ameachi has done well and I don’t want someone to come and make a mess of his legacy. We know how politics in Nigeria goes. Once an opposition party wins, they crush every good work the former governor has done rather than building on the existing legacies and achievement of the past administration and creating jobs for the youths. Like you said earlier, you and the incumbent governor are from the same state and he is known to be close to you. Don’t you think it would come to him as one of those Julius’s expensive jokes? Let’s see how expensive this joke gets. I do not want to say certain things for now. With my level of clout and popularity I believe I stand a chance. What’s your wife’s opinion on your political ambition? You know how women are. She’s scared that it’s not my thing and I shouldn’t get into it. She’s been answering calls and she is tired. I understand how she feels because the way politics is played here, not everyone who has a family would encourage their loved ones to get into it. In fact, she has told me to stop the joke. That was the last message she sent me and I understand how she feels. I have been getting calls from people who are saying, Julius, don’t worry, e get where we go carry you go. http://chrisbassey..com/2014/08/rivers-governorship-election-im.html

It’s such a sad story, but at the end she’s trying to live through it. Her story particularly touched me because she got it through s*x. Hmm, maybe she might have avoided it, if only she didn’t spend the night at a male church member’s house. Please ladies, I beg you, don’t ever, and I mean don’t ever spend the night with a man alone, except a man you have known so well. It’s just risky, there’s no fun in spending a night or two at a man’s place, it just takes away your dignity. Spend the day with him with another of your friend, in fact invite him to your home, let him come and spend a time with you and your family. Joyce story just breaks my heart. Joyce went to church on this particular day in 2007 and ended at a church member’s house who knew fully well he had HIV and insisted in making love to her without a condom. That was how her story changed. Though she’s living through it and married at an HIV carrier, not everyone will be as lucky as Joyce. Read her story below as narrated by her on DSTV’s AfricaMagic channel. Living with HIV virus; I have lived with HIV/AIDS virus for seven years now. I contacted the disease in 2007. But I’m just a normal person. When people meet me and tend to find out how I’m feeling, I always tell them I’m a normal person. As a matter of fact, I visited a school to educate the students. After talking to them they were keen to test for HIV. I also joined the queue and got tested but it was negative. It means one must stay with one’s medication forever. Regular medication can make it read that way. It doesn’t mean such a person is no longer a career. How I got the disease I contacted the disease in 2007, through a member of my church. I was to spend a night with him in his house. When he removed his clothes, I saw some kind of rashes all over his body. I was terrified, as I innocently asked him why he was like that. He covered up, saying it was a minor skin infection and that it was nothing serious. But when he wanted to make love to me, I insisted that he must use condom. He told me that he didn’t like using condom. However, when I insisted, he agreed but he never used it. He removed it while entering into me. We did it several times that night. After few weeks, I became pregnant for him. When I told him, I was pregnant, he advised me to abort the baby. But I refused, insisting on keeping the baby. He later warned me that if insisted, I would have myself to blame in future. I never knew what he meant until I was diagnosed HIV positive. He also infected other ladies in the church before he died. http://chrisbassey..com/2014/08/ghanaian-singer-joyce-narte-explains.html Growing up: Growing up was in a very poor background. I discovered my love for music and dance. I was very ambitious, passionate about my dance skills. All efforts to get help to go to school failed. I was vulnerable, most times Molested. I had to attend all kinds of events in my neighbourhood to exhibit my skills in dancing. In my case, there was no one to confide in. I hawked all kinds of things to make ends meet’. Why she became HIV/AIDS Awareness advocate I was driven by the need to help other carriers of the HIV/AIDS virus. This is because most AIDS patients are brought to the hospital when they are almost dead. Victims find it difficult to undergo medical test to determine their HIV/AIDS status. I realised when people get to know about their HIV status at the early stages and they are put on medication, they wouldn’t die. They would live their normal lives. So, I decided to use myself as an example. That was what motivated me to begin the campaign against HIV/AIDS virus. Platform and the benefits I started sensitising the people on the streets. I went to a business district in Accra, and my purpose of going to the area was to share my story, as well as sell some copies of my music which I had on CD to enable me realise some money to feed myself. The first person I approached when I got there shouted, and never allowed me to utter a word. The moment I mentioned I was HIV positive, he shouted at me, and warned me to leave the place immediately. But I wasn’t discouraged. Later, I went to Dacuma, another area. At the place, whenever there was traffic congestion, I would start to tell my story, “I’m HIV positive, you have to be very careful with your life,” I would start. In addition, I had copies of my CD, but nobody was buying them from me. Some people thought I was lying, and that was when I met a certain pastor in the a traffic. I was moving from one vehicle to another, sharing my story with who cared to listen. When this pastor heard me, he parked and was ready to listen to me. Then, he was running a TV programme in Amsterdam. At that moment, he took my contact, and later, he sent me some money to process my International Passport. He told me that he had a TV station as well as a radio station in Amsterdam, and he would want me to come over there and share my story the way I did in the traffic. Without hesitation, I applied for visa and travelled to Amsterdam in 2010. That was how my story changed. When she returned from Amsterdam I returned from Amsterdam to continue what I started in Ghana. I was invited by different organisations. Later, I travelled again to speak on the topic “30 years of HIV, the way forward.”In 2012, I went for the AIDS conference in America. Recently, I was in the UK, where I premiered my movie, “My Cross Roads” which captures my story. The movie was first premiered at the National Theatre in Ghana and it recorded a huge turn out of dignitaries. The storyline of the movie is basically about me. It’s a true life story of Joyce Dzidzor Nartey but currently, I have a new movie in the market titled, “Jewel of the water.” HIV Husband and wife Before we got married, my husband was educated about the deadly disease. But he is also a carrier of the disease. At the moment, medically both of us are negative to HIV virus. This is because we have been put on medication for long. But that does not mean, we should stop taking our medication. Even though we test negative now, we keep taking our medication. We had one child together who did not test positive to HIV because of the medication. Life after contacting HIV/AIDS virus That’s not the end of the world for any carrier of the HIV/AIDS virus. There is life after contacting the deadly disease. The HIV virus can be found in the Fluid in the man, and not in the sperm because the sperm is what goes to form a baby. It doesn’t carry the HIV virus, but the Fluid is what contains the HIV virus. So, HIV positive man who is on medication can share intimate activity with an HIV negative woman, and they both can produce an HIV negative baby. You can see that there is life after contacting the HIV virus. HIV positive man can marry an HIV negative woman, and they can still make babies without him infecting the wife or the baby, just as an HIV positive woman can also marry an HIV negative man. There are a lot of couple today who wouldn’t come out to share their stories, but who are living with HIV/AIDS virus. They are keeping the secret to themselves. Marriage life Marriage for me was normal but they say, in every marriage there are challenges. Things have happened in the past which I wouldn’t want to talk about here. Talking about the stigma, there was one day, my seven-year old son came from school and told me to stop that HIV thing that I am doing. According to him, his friends said, they wouldn’t play with him because his mum is HIV positive. There are challenges but life must go on. http://chrisbassey..com/2014/08/ghanaian-singer-joyce-narte-explains.html |

The HIV virus can be found in the semen in the man, and not in the sperm because the sperm is what goes to form a baby. It doesn’t carry the HIV virus, but the semen is what contains the HIV virus. So, HIV positive man who is on medication can share sexual activity with an HIV negative woman, and they both can produce an HIV negative baby.
Late Patrick Sawyer’s wife has revealed her husband knew he had Ebola before travelling to Nigeria. Mrs Sawyer said he died it because he wanted a better medical attention in the country, knowing that Liberia was lacking in that. Here is what she wrote on her Facebook page after saying she has read a lot about what people call her husband’s ‘recklessness’ in the papers. “I’ve read other reports in other papers (not the New York Times) about Patrick’s “recklessness.” I get where they’re coming from, and they certainly have the right to feel the way they do. However, as Patrick’s widow, I would like to shed some light on this from another perspective. One that only I, his wife, would know,” she wrote. Continue below... http://chrisbassey..com/2014/08/patrick-sawyer-had-ebola-before.html ............................................................................................................................................................................................ “I knew Patrick better than anybody else (including himself). He had told me many times in the past how much he didn’t trust the Liberian healthcare system. He would tell me about how a person would get checked in for one thing, and get misdiagnosed and get the wrong treatment as a result. On top of that, Patrick was a clean freak, and told me how filthy a lot of the hospitals were. “He didn’t tell me this, but I know in my heart of hearts that Patrick was determined to get to Nigeria by all means because he felt that Nigeria would be a place of refuge. He has expressed to me many times in the past that he felt passionately about helping to be a part of strengthening Liberia’s healthcare system, but he knew it wasn’t there yet, and he wouldn’t want to take a chance with his life because a lot of people depended on him… Patrick had a passion for life, and he wouldn’t have wanted his to end. So, I bet anything that he was thinking, if I could only get to Nigeria, a way more developed country than Liberia, I would be able to get some help. How ironic.” In other news, Late Patrick Sawyer’s friend, Liberia’s deputy finance minister, Sebastian Omar, who cleared Patrick Sawyer to travel, defended himself against charges of incompetence for clearing Sawyer to travel to Nigeria for a conference. He also said he owes no one any apology and why should he try to stop a health practitioner like Sawyer, who should know what is right. http://chrisbassey..com/2014/08/patrick-sawyer-had-ebola-before.html

The Lagos State Police Command has arrested a man, Phillip Katongu, for allegedly stabbing his wife to death. Katongu, who hails from Wamba, Nasarawa State, was apprehended by operatives of the Department of Criminal Investigations, Yaba, Lagos. The police said the victim, Justina, was stabbed to death in a street at Oniru Estate, Maroko, Lagos, where she and her husband were living. We learnt that Justina was stabbed in about three places before she died. Also, the knife used for the murder had been recovered by the police. Justina, who hailed from Kauro, Kaduna State, did not have any child for the suspect before her death. It was also learnt that Katongu, who worked as a construction worker on the Victoria Island, had a wife outside the marriage in Nasarawa State before marrying the deceased. However, after having allegedly killing the wife, Katongu was said to have also attempted to commit suicide before the neighbours forced the door open and rushed him to a nearby hospital where he was revived. Forty-five-year-old Katongu, told policemen that he killed his wife because she infected him with the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, among other misdeeds. He said, “I married Justina, my second wife in December 2010. I later learnt that she had given birth to two girls for a man. The girls died of AIDS. “However, when we first met, she did not tell me all these. I explained to her that I have a wife with children and I wanted to marry her too. Before marriage, I told her we should go to hospital to conduct HIV test, but she refused and said that she was HIV negative. So we started sleeping together.” http://chrisbassey..com/2014/08/i-killed-my-wife-to-stop-her-from.html Katongu added that without his knowledge, his wife had been going to Abuja for medical treatment every three months for HIV, until March 2013 when she took him along. He said it was at the hospital that she disclosed her HIV status to him. He said, “I was angry and told the doctor who equally blamed her for not disclosing it to me. The doctor then tested me, and I was positive. We came back to Lagos and continued with the relationship because I loved her. But suddenly, she told me she wanted to pack out from my house that she was no longer interested in marrying me having had another person in Abuja. In fact, the man usually called her on phone while we were together. “I told her that with her status, she should not go and be infecting people with the virus. And that I will kill her and kill myself. We started fighting and I stabbed her. It was in the early hours. I stabbed her three times with a knife. She shouted and people were knocking at our door. After she died, I stabbed myself, and the people broke the door open. I woke up to find myself in a hospital. I feel very bad that I killed my wife. I loved her very much.” http://chrisbassey..com/2014/08/i-killed-my-wife-to-stop-her-from.html |
Some Nigerians have asked the US government to give one of the nurses, Obi Justina Ejelonu that treated Late Liberian who died of Ebola in Lagos and her colleagues who have tested positive to Ebola the same experimental drugs they have been using for US doctors who are also down with the virus. Unknown to Justina she went online after Mr Sawyer died and thanked God she wasn’t infected and also thanked God for the lives of her colleagues and the hospital management not knowing she has also been infected with the virus. Continue below... “I never contacted his fluids .i checked his Vitals, helped him with his food.(he was too weak)…..i basically touched where his hands touched and dats d only contact. not directly wt his fluids.@a stage, he yanked off his infusion and we had blood everywhere on his bed…..but d ward maids took care of that and changed his linens with great precaution. Every patient is treated as high risk ….if it were airborne, by now wahala for dey. i still thank God.” http://chrisbassey..com/2014/08/nigerians-want-us-to-give-nigerian.html “Friends, up to our uniforms n all linens were burnt off. we r on surveillance n off work till 11th. For me, kudos to my hospital managt cos we work proffessionally wt every patient considered risk cos that’s d training. had it been its a hospital where they manage ordinar gloves lik Govt hospital n some supporter of APC private hosp..:lol….wahala for dey o.i must also thank Lagos Govt….infact! Even fed govt sef….all been supportive. im good n so r the others in d hosp…..” According to the admin of the Facebook group, Justina went into quarantine after that post and has now tested positive to Ebola. Some Nigerians however have started an online campaign to pressurize the US government to give Justina and others down with the virus the same experimental drugs used for US doctors down with Ebola. http://chrisbassey..com/2014/08/nigerians-want-us-to-give-nigerian.html |

The Lagos state Commissioner for Health, Dr Jide Idris, today August 5th said there are now eight suspected cases of Ebola in Lagos. These eight are those who came in contact with Liberian Patrick Sawyer, who died of Ebola shortly after arriving Lagos last month. But out of the 8, only one case has been confirmed while six others have been quarantined even though they have not shown any symptoms of the disease so far, Dr Idris said. http://lindaikeji..com/2014/08/lagos-has-8-suspected-ebola-cases-1.html http://lindaikeji..com/2014/08/lagos-has-8-suspected-ebola-cases-1.html |
Professional dancer and daughter of late Afrobeat musician, Fela Anikulapo Kuti has explained why she will not be getting married to the man she has been dating for 7 years or any other man at that, because she believes a loose arrangement between a man and woman works more than being married. “I am not single”. “I have somebody in my life. We have been together for like 7 years. We respect each other. But we are not married. I believe that if we ever marry, our relationship will lose the dynamics that we have. I have my house. He has his house. He stays at mine when he wants, I stays at his when I want. It’s a kind of loose arrangement. We go on holiday together. We love each other. But the day we marry, we would now start fighting for space. By the time I bring all my clothes and shoes where would he keep them. This way I think it works. He respects the fact that I don’t want to get married.” Continue below. “I know a guy who advised me to marry the man I am dating right now, but most people don’t seem to get the point. I don’t want to get married. I am happy the way I am. I am proud of who I am. I don’t need a man to say I am somebody. I can be who I am without a man. I don’t need a man as a prop to survive. If I am with a man I am with him because I love him, because of who he is.” “Not because I can’t go to an event alone, or go without a man. I can go to an event alone and enjoy myself, I will sit by myself, carry my Ipad and start checking my mails, I don’t need any props. I guess thats why I have been able to stay single.” http://chrisbassey..com/2014/08/why-i-wont-marry-man-im-dating-or-any.html |
