I thought I would be interested in people’s AC experience, but surprisingly all I can think of is when our fates will be known. Don’t mind me.
I and a colleague had our AC during the 1st week in Abuja and we were told to expect the results within 3 months. Three months (12wks) from the start of AC is the 31st of August, so unless those that had theirs on the 1st day were misinformed, the outcome should be known by the end of this month.
Confusingly though PH hopefuls were also given the same 3 months’ timeline.
Regardless, let your will be done Father.

Idk any personally, but someone on this thread was team Lagos and the date was within this week, can't remember the exact date.
Going through this thread from the day the AC invite was sent, the earliest Lagos candidate I saw was scheduled for 29th June. That's why I'm not sure if AC is ongoing in Lagos
My theory;
Abuja 08-19 June
Lagos 29 Jun- 11 July
PH 20-31 July
From Aug 1; the waiting game, reliable sources gist, talk about salary, federal character, whether results were released in batches, manifestation of faith etc. will reign supreme

Seems a NL moderator finished his AC yesterday and took an overdose of the anti-spill pill. Happy days.
I suggest the thread be frozen till the end of AC.

UpdateAll:
Dear Potential NLNG GTs,

I am one of you and I am done with my AC and I wish to strongly advice those of us that are done and will be done and getting so excited to share info about the AC here. Kindly keep the info to yourself because this is public domain and you do not know who is reading your notes here. I am very sure that NLNG keeps the integrity of its recruitment and any persons who try to breach the integrity may lead to cancellation of the exercise. I take God beg us not to run our mouth even though we do not know our fate yet but I am sure that we are good to have made it to this stage. I wish us all success in this recruitment. Thanks
If you weren't in the first set, I hope you would have said this. As some1 rightly said forget this your NLNG might be here gist, you are just protecting yourself so others won't have undue advantage which is fair enough.
As for me all I would like to know is
1. Which activities took place e.g group exercise, role play etc
2. Were candidates of the same discipline invited together
3. When do we expect the outcome of this exercise (ebola-willing).
4. How good is the food? That's all

I will advise you get this mind set out of your system. Don't get me wrong I truly understand where you're coming from. However, you must have sent series of mails in your life time , 99% must have gone through, why would you think this NLNG reply would fall on the 1% that do not go through because of network?

Back in my school days I wondered why people take two pens when it's time for exams. All through lecture days, one might suffice, why have the mindset that on that 2 or 3 hour exam day, one would fail or something.

Like i said, I understand we all want to be on the safer side however the glass is either half full or half empty. It all depends on how you look at it. Anyways my point is BE POSITIVE.
@scarletdp
So why do vehicles have spare tires? why do people take insurance. Succinctly the last paragraph would have sufficed

@ Mr Nicer
Pls will there be any contact before the d-day as to what to expect on the day or any preparatory materials?

@ all
3 weeks is not enough time to prepare so let's not waste precious seconds on futile things (e.g. so called mock assessments- unless its organised by NLNG)

DPlacement:

This is the best post I've read on this thread in a while.

Q4 2014 is no longer happening. Most of you have already figured that out already.

Now think, when is the earliest possible time to hold an Assessment Centre that will not be interrupted by the Yuletide, New Year Celebrations or Elections.

There you have your possible date frame for the Assessment Centre.

We have a valid template from the 2007 recruitment (’07 was also an election year), AC was conducted between June – August i.e. after the inauguration of the president.
As for Dplacement, there’s a striking similarity with Arsene Wenger, where after a few good infos and subsequent chain of misinfos, several hopefuls keep clinging to past glories and thus refuse to see reason.
The funny part is when folks start trying to interpret the non-info and even fight about it. Classic.
As I have said numerous times, any info worth giving is worth giving well.

Noticed that dplacement v decided 2 give us half baked and ambiguous info 2 send us on a wild goose chase and 2 probably entertain himself with the aftermath. The wait is becoming tiring ooo, pls someone should kindly help us enquire with their source regarding the latest with this recruitment. Which way NLNG? eeeh! which way?
You spoke my mind. Oga dplacement "any info worth giving is worth giving well".

MOBIL11:

Babe, calm down and concentrate on other things so that it doesn't weigh you down. NLNG GT recruitment from date of advert publication to resumption normally take about 15 to 18 months. Next month will make it 12 months or 1 yr, so roughly we have at least 4 to 5 months left . I pray ours will not take that long. Relax, NLNG will call us when they are ready for us. Shalom.
Hi all. There's no reason to be impatient. 15 wks elapsed btw the 1st and 2nd test so it could be worse.
@ MOBIL11, I think regardless of when the advert is placed, resumption is always at the start of the year (pls correct me if I'm wrong)

Thinking out loud.........

Going by NLNG's trend of sending invites a minimum 2wks before any event, the invitations for AC should have been sent if the AC would commence at the start of sept.

Hope the outbreak of the ebola virus has nothing to do with it.
Jobs/Vacancies / Re: 2013 Nigeria Liquified Natural Gas (NLNG) Graduate Trainee by ceetee: 5:40pm On Aug 14, 2014
Lol. Anyone who thinks the final lap of this "campaign" will be easier just because they are verifying certificates needs to rethink.
They might be verifying now, so as not to waste transport fares that would otherwise have been spent on applicants whom they will eventually disqualify for providing false info.

I'm privileged to be a beneficiary of the shell recruitment day, which for all intents and purposes is a direct reflection of the AC.
One of the tasks involved in-tray exercises, where we were given a business case, with the participants divided into groups and assigned different roles.
In summary, ask a lot of questions, the aim is to assess your thought process and test your ability to process information quickly, analyse problems, make decisions, take action, manage your time, work accurately and express yourself tactfully (my view think publicly). In my case, additional information was provided as we proceeded and our assessors answered all questions asked.
On a final note, come with an open mind and ask lots of questions. A good employer, particularly if you're applying to a graduate scheme, will focus on developing your potential.
as @stacydual said "WE CAN'T JUST MAKE ASSUMPTIONS"

airsaylongcon:

For the group work, it is crucial to have some kind of team structure and leadership o! At my only AC experience, we just kept rambling and rambling without heading in any direction. Disaster. Group work exercise is not really about the loquacious. I believe it is about making meaningful contributions, accepting superior ideas while tactfully turning down weak ones. And open your mouth and talk!!! I was forming posh intellectual boy...the outcome nobi here

Example group activity:
There are 4 people Audu,Amaka,Adeyinka and Adesuwa who HAVE TO cross a crocodile infested river at night using a bridge. They have a torch that is absolutely required to see. Audu can cross the bridge alone in a minute while Amaka requires two minutes. Adeyinka requires 5 minutes while Adesuwa needs 7 whole minutes to perform the same feat. The bridge can accommodate a maximum of 2 people simultaneously. If two people are crossing, they can only move at the speed of the slowest person.

Devise a means whereby ALL parties cross the bridge in under 12minutes

(We had to vocalize our ideas with other group members and we DID NOT solve it even though the assessors insisted there was a solution)

Edit:
You require the torch to cross the bridge and the torch CANNOT be tossed back across the bridge

My first questions will be,
how long is the bridge? and
is it possible for someone at the other end to hold the torch while others are crossing? (i.e. they don't necessarily have to hold the torch)
If the answer is yes, then its pretty simple.

auxyn1: reason: there's more passage for wind than d others. Without enough passage, d force of the wind will force any obstacle out of its way. Ans : A
I beg to disagree. The answer is C. The void area/opening is the same for both A & C, it's just the distribution that differs. However in A, there will be a greater influence of wind reflecting off the ground on the lowest strip than in C. Hence the improved stability of C (fyi C is a relatively common fence design while A is used typically to prevent farm animals from escaping).
My 2 cents.

Car Talk / Re: Does The Use Of Air Conditioners In Cars Affect Fuel Consumption? by ceetee: 2:02pm On Jan 05, 2014
Yes it affects fuel consumption, however letting your windows down may affect it more (depending on your speed)
Check out
http://auto.howstuffworks.com/fuel-efficiency/hybrid-technology/driving-with-windows-down2.htm
very insightful
If you're searching for a good rule-of-thumb number for when it's best to open the windows and switch off the air conditioner, according to some experts, the cut-off should be around 40 miles per hour (64.4 kilometers per hour) What's the reason? Well, at low speeds your engine is producing less power, so it would have to work much harder to power accessories like the air compressor. When the engine is operating at faster speeds, it's already producing ample power for both the engine and additional equipment
