Residents of Maiduguri, the Borno State Capital are currently in deep fear over the latest threat by the dreaded Boko Haram terrorists that, it would attack selected areas within the state capital. A security source had revealed that one of the main areas of target as disclosed by the dreaded sect was the University of Maiduguri, Saturday Punch had reported. The sect have equally warned residents of Maiduguri to be ready for its renewed attacks on the city, since they now celebrate with security agencies each time there is a slip in their(Boko Haram) campaign. The source further hinted that the insurgents also want residents to avoid Federal Roads in the city such as, the busy Maiduguri-Damaturu- Bauchi Road and the Maiduguri, Damboa-Biu-Gombe Road, as the sect have threatened to launch heavy attacks on highways. It was further revealed that all the threats were issued via a letter obtained from the dreaded sect. The source said, “For now, the city looks calm but there is so much tension. We just thank God that another attack has not taken place after the one that took place last month. “But Maiduguri is tense now because Boko Haram is threatening to attack selected places in the city. “They wrote saying that they would attack the University of Maiduguri; they also warned people to stay away from Federal highways such as the Borno-Yobe highway and the Maiduguri-Biu highway. Both you know, are major highways. “Already, they have launched an attack on motorists slaughtering several of them along the Maiduguri- Biu Road. I don’t have the exact number of those killed in the attack. http://dailypost.com.ng/2013/12/14/boko-haram-threatens-attack-university-maiduguri/

The name "Mama Peace" delves into a problematical approtuzoa which may not be articulated due to economicated vouldavitation, propertuated baberically through out the geographical atomicable panderison. In Summary, Madam Jonathan should accoutuate an outrageous theologicolism to be punctuated intermittently and holistically. Abeg, no ask me the meaning of wetin I write here, cos I don't even know. |
“Late Lar was our mentor, he was loved by all. If we had people like him, Nigeria would have been a better country,” the president said. May His Soul Rest In Peace. AMEN |
The President, Goodluck Jonathan, has challenged Nigerians to live an exemplary life just like late pioneer chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Solomon Lar. Mr. Jonathan spoke on Friday at the funeral service of Mr. Lar, held at the Rwang Pam Township Stadium in Jos. “Late Lar was our mentor, he was loved by all. If we had people like him, Nigeria would have been a better country,” the president said. “We are not mourning our great leader, but we are celebrating him. We are all pleased by his achievements.” Some of the dignitaries at the event were the Senate president, David Mark; PDP national chairman, Bamanga Tukur, former head of state, Yakubu Gowon; and Governors of Plateau, Nasarawa, Bauchi and Akwa Ibom States: Jonah Jang, Tanko Almakura, Isa Yuguda and Godswill Akpabio; as well as the acting governor of Taraba State, Kumar Garba. Others were the Speaker House of Representative, Aminu Tambuwal; national committee chairman of the funeral committee, Jerry Gana; former Minister of Defense, Theophilus Danjuma; and former deputy senate president, Ibrahim Mantu. Ministers in attendance included Labaran Maku (Information); Abba Moro (Interior), Bala Mohammed (FCT) while the Senate President, David Mark and the Deputy Speaker, House of Representatives, Emeka Ihedioha also graced the occasion. In his address, Mr. Jang said Mr. Lar was a symbol of national unity. Security was tight around the venue and other parts of Jos metropolis. Security personnel were deployed to strategic junctions, while vehicular movement was diverted to other areas considered less busy. The spokesperson of the Plateau Police Command, Felicia Anselm, while commenting on the security arrangement, declared that adequate measures were put in place to avoid any hitch. “We have left nothing to chance; we have enough men on ground and the situation is fully under control,’’ she said. Mr. Lar, a former Plateau Governor, died in the U.S. on October 9 at 85. http://premiumtimesng.com/news/151422-jonathan-gowon-others-attend-lars-funeral-jos.html

A 24-year old armed robbery suspect, Mr. Tajudeen Onifara has revealed the secret behind his success in the underworld for nine years during which he robbed many people of their money and other possessions. He confessed to the police that he was dutifully paying his tithe to his church, Christ Living Ministry, Lagos Island, as commanded in the Bible after every successful robbery operation in Lagos, western Nigeria. Onifara was arrested in a hotel with his girlfriend by men of the anti- robbery squad of the state police command after nine years of robbing people. The father of two said he paid his tithe regularly because he believed that as a Christian God always bless a faithful tither. He disclosed that after every successful operation, he would remove 10 percent of the money he stole from people and pay as tithe to church. Onifara attributed his success in crime for nine years to the fact that he paid his tithe regularly as commanded by God in Malachi chapter 3 verse 10 and 11. The verses, he said, mandated Christians to give 10 percent of their earnings as tithe to the church. He said he started stealing at the age of 15 and specialised in robbing customers of banks with locally made cut-to-size pistol before he graduated to a big time armed robber. He said his major breakthrough in the underworld occurred when he robbed a woman who withdrew N2m from a bank in Lagos. He said she was about entering her car when he accosted her and pointed a toy gun at her. The woman quickly surrendered the money to him. “I pretended as if I wanted to assist her. She did not know that I was an armed robber and when we got to where she parked her car, I pointed a gun at her and she quietly handed the money to me. After snatching the money I escaped on a bike with my friend,” he stated. He disclosed that he used part of the money to buy a sophisticated weapon after removing his tithe. On what he did with all the money he stole over the years, he explained that he used the money to enrol his children in one of the best schools in Lagos and opened a supermarket at Idumagbo on Lagos Island. He added that he used a substantial part of the money to take care of himself and his girlfriends. On how he was arrested, he said he was having fun with his girlfriend in Ibadan at a popular hotel when SARS men arrested him. When asked how he felt now that he was arrested, he replied: “I know that robbery is a serious and risky ‘business’ that can cut short one’s life. If I am given another chance, I will abandon it and engage in a legitimate business.” Police sources said Onifara who is now in custody at SARS will soon be charged to court. http://pmnewsnigeria.com/2013/12/13/armed-robbers-confession-i-paid-tithe-after-every-operation/ |
The Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) said it arrested 24 illegal immigrants at Tamaje village in Sabon-Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State. The NIS Comptroller in Sokoto, Mr Yunusa Aliyu, made this known when he presented the suspects to newsmen in Sokoto on Friday. Aliyu said the immigrants entered the country from Niger Republic without valid travel documents. He said the suspects were arrested on Thursday when they were travelling to Warri, Port Harcourt, and Onitsha. ``All the 24 suspects, all males of varying ages, were from different parts of the neigbhouring Niger Republic and they were travelling without any valid travel documents. ``The existing international protocol does not prohibit the citizens of other countries from entering other countries, but it must be done with valid travel documents,’’ he said. Aliyu said the suspects would be repatriated to their country on Friday, adding that four others with valid documents had been released. ``Forty three other suspects escaped from the four buses they were travelling when they were intercepted by our officers. ``The Nigerian drivers of the four buses, which had been impounded by the service, would also be prosecuted for aiding and abetting illegal immigrants,’’ Aliyu said. The comptroller, who decried the porosity of Nigeria’s borders, promised that the NIS would continue to be diligent in the discharge of its duties. ``The carrot and stick reward system is also still in force in the service, to reward hard work and punish indolence,’’ Aliyu said. http://leadership.ng/news/131213/nis-arrests-24-illegal-immigrants-sokoto

Just within a space of 3 days, OBJ, Tambuwal and Sanusi have all indicted the President of Massive Looting and Unabated Corruption. Moreover, these 3 men are in the same political party (PDP) with Jonathan and not Opposition parties. |
Angry Jonathan replies Obasanjo, says letter self-serving, provocative President Goodluck Jonathan has dismissed as “most reckless” and “unjustifiable” a fiercely scathing letter he received from former President Olusegun Obasanjo, in which Mr. Obasanjo accused him of lying, condoning corruption, and leading Nigeria to the brink of collapse. A statement by the president’s aide, Reuben Abati, said the allegations by the former president were “baseless and indecorous.” The statement said Mr. Jonathan has directed his aides not to respond to the barrage of attacks and allegations from Mr. Obasanjo, listed in an 18-page letter exclusively published by PREMIUM TIMES. Mr. Jonathan will personally respond to the charges at the “appropriate time”, the statement said. “While many patriotic, objective and well-meaning Nigerians have already condemned the leaked letter as self-serving, hypocritical, malicious, indecent, and very disrespectful of the highest office in the land, President Jonathan has directed that none of his aides or any government official should join issues with Chief Obasanjo over it,” Mr. Abati said. “The president himself will, at the appropriate time, offer a full personal response to the most reckless, baseless, unjustifiable and indecorous charges levelled against him and his administration by the former Head of State.” In the highly acerbic letter, Mr. Obasanjo laid out a series of allegations against Mr. Jonathan, accusing him of corruption and ineptitude. Mr. Obasanjo lamented that Mr. Jonathan had become terribly divisive and clannish, destroying his own party, polarizing the country along regional and religious lines and ridiculing Nigeria in the comity of nations. He blamed Mr. Jonathan for the crises tearing the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, apart, and accused him of lacking in personal integrity by consistently lying about his ambition for a new term of office. Mr. Obasanjo also tackled Mr. Jonathan for allegedly being clannish. “For you to allow yourself to be “possessed”, so to say, to the exclusion of most of the rest of Nigerians as an “Ijaw man” is a mistake that should never have been allowed to happen. Yes, you have to be born in one part of Nigeria to be Nigerian if not naturalized but the Nigerian President must be above ethnic factionalism. And those who prop you up as of, and for ‘Ijaw nation’ are not your friends genuinely, not friends of Nigeria nor friends of ‘Ijaw nation’ they tout about. “To allow or tacitly encourage people of ‘Ijaw nation’ to throw insults on other Nigerians from other parts of the country and threaten fire and brimstone to protect your interest as an Ijaw man is myopic and your not openly quieting them is even more unfortunate.” The former president also accused Mr. Jonathan of placing over 1000 Nigerians on political watch list and “training snipers and other armed personnel secretly and clandestinely acquiring weapons to match for political purposes like Abacha and training them where Abacha trained his killers”. The former President also called on the National Assembly to rise up and take decisive action over the allegation that the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation failed to remit billions of dollars in proceed of crude oil sales to the federation account. “This allegation will not fly away by non-action, cover-up, denial or bribing possible investigators,” Mr. Obasanjo told the President. “Please deal with this allegation transparently and let the truth be known.” The Senate on Wednesday ordered an investigation. The senate committee on finance is to probe the allegation and make its findings known in seven days. The presidency did not respond to any of the issues specifically beyond dismissing them as “provocative and unjustifiable.” Mr. Abati said President Jonathan will respond personally. But the statement criticised the leakage of the letter to the media. “We however find it highly unbecoming, mischievous and provocative that a letter written by a former Head of State and respected elder statesman to President Jonathan has been deliberately leaked to the mass media in a deplorable effort to impugn the integrity of the president and denigrate his commitment to giving Nigeria the best possible leadership,” the statement said. Read the statement by the president’s spokesperson, Reuben Abati, below. OBASANJO’S LETTER UNBECOMING, SELF-SERVING AND HIGHLY PROVOCATIVE We have noted the publication on several websites today of a letter recently written by Chief Olusegun Obasanjo to President Goodluck Ebele Jonathan. The Presidency acknowledges that it has indeed received the said letter from Chief Obasanjo. We however find it highly unbecoming, mischievous and provocative that a letter written by a former Head of State and respected elder statesman to President Jonathan has been deliberately leaked to the mass media in a deplorable effort to impugn the integrity of the President and denigrate his commitment to giving Nigeria the best possible leadership. While many patriotic, objective and well-meaning Nigerians have already condemned the leaked letter as self-serving, hypocritical, malicious, indecent, and very disrespectful of the highest office in the land, President Jonathan has directed that none of his aides or any government official should join issues with Chief Obasanjo over it. The President himself will, at the appropriate time, offer a full personal response to the most reckless, baseless, unjustifiable and indecorous charges levied against him and his administration by the former Head of State. I'm just amazed at Obama's level of Humility and Simplicity. He's holding an umbrella by himself, and he was even covering others.
