Hi there,

Am currently training in Port elizabeth.I will advise you to try and get some naija guys in your school to help you arrange for accomodation cos I won't advise you to stay in a room self, quite expensive.

otemitayo: hello Babechemist and others. Pls I need to confirm from you and others who applied for study permit via the Abuja SAHC office. Pls after u submitted your teller, were you given any receipt? I applied today ad was asked to go to bank and pay. I paid and returned the tellers to them but was not given any document apart from phone number to call for the status of my application. Pls am I in order? And does anybody know if someone else can pick the passport on my behalf? Thanks alot
You're def on course but I'll advice you to visit the embassy in 2-3wks time to confirm if your visa is ready or not, don't expect them to call you even if you call em,they might tell you it is not ready.

Please keep your repat receipt very well!!!

Goodluck

Babechemist01: SA visa application offices in Abuja is so organized and every thing is goin on smothly der.dey av 2 offices at diff location. One is for short term visa e.g vist visa and d oda one is basically for study permit. Vist visa take only 5 workin days to be processed while study permit takes 2-3 weeks. We were asked to come back after 3weeks. It a nice place to be anyway.
That's so true.Your visa will def be ready before 3wks but unfortunately they won't let you know until you visit the embassy.I had the experience when applying for my study permit, the visa was ready less than 2wks but I got it almost a month!

adexcube: My flight school gave me a contact of a Nigerian currently training in the school so I asked her how long it took to get her visa and he told me that trvs to flight schools takes a minimum of 6months and her own was 6months and 2weeks so I guess am still on the right track. She also said she was called for medicals in the 5th month so am still good to go. What a great relief.
Whao!!! That's so crazy mehn!Copilot, don't worry God already you, just get ur pilot bag and log book ready. Meet you @Canadian airspace

TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 3 by cessna150(m): 11:03am On Dec 27, 2012
mosquitoway: hi...i have a ppl aeroplane as well and have applied for my cpl in canada and awaiting my visa in nigeria,i would advise you apply for your visa from sa cos of the waiting time in nigeria and for the fact that they doubt most of your documents, even if it had to be the same waiting time for your visa, you can always continue building hours in sa as opposed to nigeria where there is no where you can rent a plane for hour building, and also you dont get rusty.in a scenario where it takes you about 4-5months to get your visa, without any flying during that period,u might have to do a refresher when you get to canada, what school are you going to do tho?
I am going to Pacific flying club cos its vry cheap and they got C-150 and 152.thx for d advise Capt,I will apply frm southy den.I got my Uk 6mnths visa frm there last month without any stress,so I feel cana aint gonna be problem @all. Which school are you going now?
