I guess d previous belt was installed inappropriately for it to fit in, Now av bought another belt buh d issue am having now is that when d belt hot it brings sound buh when I off d Engine for some minute d sound comes back normal, so I still don't get what's happening Conner44: What of the replacement one, are you sure they are using the right type of adjuster for you now?
Because the belt size isn’t supposed to change except something awkward was installed on the engine. Check if the previous owner ever changed either the ac compressor or adjuster before. Maybe you’re using the right type now.
It’s still surprising how these things snap like that. I’m sure you’ve replaced the belt by now, how is it functioning compared to before? |

Car Talk › Re: Maintenance Tips For Honda Cars by Chae: 9:39pm On Oct 10, 2022 |
It was Nigerian used car D formal owner told me he just change d adjuster not upto 2month After d changed of d adjuster d belt is shorter also my mecho said d problem of d car is d adjuster Conner44: Let’s tackle this issue one at a time.
1. The vehicle, was it purchased as a Nigerian used or tokumbo?
2. Exactly how did the issue begin? What we’re the symptoms before failure?
3. What and what parts did you change/replace after the first time you experienced an issue?
4. After changing and replacing the issues how long did you use the vehicle before the same issues came up again?
5. Was it the same exact parts that failed the first time that failed again the second time? How long was the vehicle used after the first repairs before the second failure occurred?
6. You spoke about your serpentine belt not being the same size anymore after a certain repair/replacement of parts, what parts were those? Is the belt now too short too long?
Please try to these questions one by one so that we can create a timeline of your issues. |

Funny enough I had 05 civic, and I didn't av any issue with it, now 08 civic and am fed up already, my mecho was even saying had it been he knw I want to get o8 he would discourage me because of d adjuster. Osumi jawre mejai: Great!! U got it. So back to what made me to quote u. Stick to it. Civic is one of the best machine out there. What u should do now is to meet the good auto repairers we have here. Luvinhubby could assist. Gazzuzz is here. Reach out to them. Then u monitor ur car and know when things are due to change. These guys here will not tell u to manage ooooo. Like our quacks will do and when it fails, we blame the product. Enjoy ur ride!!!

Maintence culture, buh I just bought mine av spent more than planned, Engine and gear it ls dope, buh its dis adjuster if a tin that's given me headache mejai: Don't be afraid. Once upon a time, I owned a Toyota Corolla (2008 South African spec) notorious for oil burning, shortening, consumption (anything u can call it). A lot of people were complaining about it and with smoky engine. Mine was consuming oil but guess what? It served me for 13yrs (bought brand new in 2008) b4 I decided to sell it. Most that bought their own then.... u can't take a second look at it. Never was the engine opened!!! And it travelled Wella.
Would u say I was lucky? Do u know why I didn't have issues or engine issues with it? If u can answer this.... Ur solution lies in the answer. |

[d serpentine tensioner bolt break inside d hole also d adjust broken too, now we drilled d remnant out also fixed another adjuster unfortunately my formal belt didn't fit in, am stranded, I wil av to sleep here till tomorrow and buy another belt. My Question Why did d formal belt didn't fit in again? Could it be that when I change compressor d ac man didn't fix d belt properly or is it a Must I change belt any day I change adjuster? quote author=Conner44 post=117383605]
There are 2 tensioners in the civic engine, there’s the serpentine belt tensioner and the timing chain tensioner.
If it’s the serpentine belt tensioner that is always giving you issues then get a good replacement with the right size of bolts and let the mechanic installing it torque the bolts using the correct specifications
Too tight or too loose and your issues will continue.[/quote] |

I later change d plug and 1 coil buh have not test it cha, I wil get back as soon as I test it thankx, can u drop your num I may call u Kokomo: If you are in Gbagada area , I can help you do a fuel trim analysis under various drive conditions. I use to own that version of Honda civic (mine was 2008) and I know from experience that once the fuel trim is out of whack (even with no check engine light) it can consume fuel like a v6 car, which is really weird.
The 8th gen honda civic comply with the ULEV (ULTRA LOW EMISSION VEHICLE) regulation for modern motor vehicle emission control, unlike corolla and other japanese car of it era, what this mean it that it fuel management system emphases more on getting closer to complete combustion than incompete with more pollution.
Hence the ECU will choose any of the extreme fuel trims from the fuel management table if it suspect or get wrong signal from any of the sensors even without check engine code. |
