2) Braiding your hair:

1Timothy 2:9
"likewise, I want women to adore themselves with proper clothing, modestly and discreetly, not with braided hair and gold or pearls or costly garments. "
You seems not to understand the contexts of this statement. The writer was simply saying that as a Christian woman your beauty should come from the inside and not the outside. And in all things be moderate. For you to understand it, you have to read the whole chapter. That is how to study the bible.

Governor Fashola should please release PVCS cards Igbo Lagos residents. Fashola a man that at times aspires to higher ideals must resist his God father Owner of Lagos Ahmed Bola Tinubu on this very issue. He must not allow himself to be dragged to the lowest of Nigeria's political gutters by disenfranchisement of your fellow citizens. Mr. Fashola you are better than that. Get the PVCs out of the hands of the Iyaolojas and party touts masquerading as local government employes asking people for voting inclinations or bribe before handing them out. This you must do in the name of fairness, justice and humanity. Our Igbo brothers and sisters might actually be galvanize by this sordid act that it might come back to bite you big time.

Fashola, release IGBO PVCs. NOW.
It seems to me that your reasoning is zero .

What does the constitution say about his eligibility. Does it say at a minimum BSC?

The fact is his experience and track record should cover all evidence of doubt.

RomanceRe: What Sort Of Devilish Wife Did I Marry? by chalerea(m): 9:41am On Jan 08, 2014
My dear, I must let you know that you are the problem of your marriage. Even if you marry another woman you will have the same problem. The change that you require from your wife depends on your wisdom and relationship with God. I will say "In all thy getting, get wisdom and get understanding" You guys need proper counselling. I will repeat it again "YOU THE HUSBAND IS THE PROBLEM". You may try the following suggestion I have for you.

1. Make peace with your wife even if she has made you angry.
2. Learn to pray together with your wife. "A family that prays together stay together"
3. Try and separate your parent from your marriage at this time and allow your wife some time to have the spirit of God transform her through your praying together and devotions.
4. Pray always for her
5. You personally is living a questionable life with God, so your wife will not be submissive to you except you become submissive to God.
6. Advice your parents to show her more love even in her foolishness
7. Think about it. Are you a perfect person? If your answer is NO which I know by the spirit of God then you have no right to prosecute her unless you have corrected yourself to perfection.
8. How did you marry your wife? If your foundation is faulty then you must accept the responsibility of fixing it and don't blame your wife.
9. If you are man enough you will help your wife weakness and build her into the woman of your dream. So think about it. Are you grown enough for marriage?
10. The most important thing is for you to study your wife and then use wisdom with her. If you are close to the Holy Spirit He will give you directions and tell you what to do.

I am speaking from experience. My marriage is so bless now to the glory of God. My mum is also the most happiest woman having a daughter in-law like my wife after five years of marital challenges.

Christianity EtcRe: Jesus Wept - John 11: 35. Who Can Explain Why? by chalerea(m): 2:37pm On Mar 03, 2012
goshen360:
My understanding of this event will be presented in two ways. One according to letter and two, according to the Spirit. Both sounds good but the spirit gives life meaning, the spiritual aspect gives you revelation rather than the letter (mere words).

According to the letter: In the natural, Lazarus is a friend of Jesus when Jesus was still walking on earth. Lazarus died, was bounded and was placed in the tomb. Naturally, the bible teaches us to rejoice with them that rejoice and weep with those who weep. Jesus wept in the natural simply to show his feelings towards his friend.

"Rejoice with them that do rejoice, and weep with them that weep." Romans 12:15 KJV

For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin.Heb 4:15, KJV

Revelation aspect of the event, the Spirit or Life given aspect of the event.

And he looked round about on them which sat about him, and said, Behold my mother and my brethren! Mark 3:34, KJV

Lazarus as a friend of Jesus is a type of believer or person who have come to know Christ in the natural but doesn't have life of Christ in him or her. Such person the devil kills, bound and places in a tomb (decaying state or condition). Such kind of people, Jesus wept, seeing the state of condition the devil and the world keeps them. As we later saw from the verse. Because Jesus loves such person, verse 36 says, "Then said the Jews, Behold how he loved him", Jesus wept for their condition.

"Jesus said unto her, I am the resurrection, and the life: he that believeth in me, though he were dead, yet shall he live" John 11:25, KJV

This verse shows that a person can come to believe in the person of Christ probably based on what he or she is hearing about Christ but does not necessarily mean such person have experience the resurrected life of Christ, a life above the natural. The resurrected life of Christ makes us dead to the world or the natural but alive to God.

I hope this helps.
You surely have a clear understanding of the spirit that brings life to the word. You are very correct in both ways but you are more correct from the spiritual translation. Many may not understand what you have said because the bread is for the children. God bless you. Amen.
FamilyRe: What Does It Mean To Be A Submissive Wife. by chalerea(m): 8:15pm On Feb 27, 2012
It simple means to obey! As a woman you sold your life to a man the moment you say "Yes I do". That is why you change your surname after marriage. The whole duty of a man to his wife is to love her. The love of a man to his wife can be equal to the love of God to man. When a man is trying to do the wrong thing, God corrects the man somehow but man may not like it but it does not mean that God hate that man, the same is equal to a man and his wife. It take only true love for a husband to stop his wife when is going the way way when she completely feels she knows better than the man.

PoliticsOpen Letter To Mr President Dr. Goodluck Ebele Jonathan by chalerea(op): 8:44pm On Jan 06, 2012
OPEN LETTER TO MR PRESIDENT DR. GOODLUCK EBELE JONATHAN

Your Excellency,

As a Nigerian that believes in this country, I want to use this medium to inform you of so many details that may not have occur to you or your advisers may not have thought about to inform you.  I will like to introduce my life to you as a free born citizen of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. I have spent all my Life in Nigeria, Lagos State. I grew up struggling to get basic amenities for myself. These basic amenities are supposed to be free or easy to get as provided by the government. I have never had social security. I have never enjoyed electricity, even as I write I have had power cut since two days now! I have never enjoyed good road, I have never enjoyed good health care. In fact I had to work in a factory at the age of 16 to complete my secondary school education because I could not get free education from my country. I grew up sacrificing for my country believing that one day all will be fine. I grew up to be an entrepreneur and I have been adding value to this country in many ways. I sacrifice my comfort for this country and for you politicians, while you and your friends live in exotics house and billionaire lifestyle I struggle to work and pay multiple taxes so that your salary and other politician salaries can be paid.  I remember sacrificing my energy, time and life to vote for you and defend it. My sister sacrificed her life when you did not give her good health care and she can’t afford to fly abroad like you would have done. WHAT MORE DO YOU WANT ME TO SACRIFICE?

Mr. President, I live on less than two US dollars a day but you live on 3 Million Naira a day(Just for food). You don’t buy petrol but I buy because you have not provided me with electricity. You live in free house but I have to pay a high price to get one because you have not provided either. You drive big cars for free but you have not given me good transportation system. You have security but you have not given me any. Even up till now my brothers and sister are been killed in the northern parts of the country. You have everything for free but you never gave me even the common amenities that I deserve as a Nigerian, yet I have lived with it all my life and did not complain.

Mr. President,
I THINK IT IS TIME FOR YOU AND OTHER MINISTERS, LAW MAKERS AND POLITICIANS TO SACRIFICE FOR ME.
Cut your spending and use it to provide for me and my fellow Nigerians. We are not more than 160 Million people. Your one day meal can feed more than one million Nigerians talk less of your other chop chop that ran the budget to extra 1.7Trillion.

You can also help us to arrest the people who have been stealing Mr. Subsidy because I know and you know that Nigerians are not consuming the amount of fuel you mentioned. Please think about all these and return petrol price to N65. Let me inform you. I use petrol to go to work because you gave me no transportation. I use in my office to generate electricity because you gave me none. I use petrol to generate electricity at home because you gave me none either. Haba Mr. President come let us reason together! I HAVE SACRIFICE FOR YOU PLEASE SACRIFICE FOR ME NOW.
CUT DOWN THE COST OF RUNNING GOVERNANCE, MAKE OUR REFINARIES TO WORK AND LET ME BUY LOCALLY MADE FUEL INSTEAD OF IMPORTING IT AND SELLING IT TO ME AT A HIGH PRICE, PROVIDE ELECTRICITY FOR ME, PROVIDE TRANSPORTATION FOR ME, PROVIDE GOOD ROADS FOR ME, MAKE THE RAILS TO WORK, GIVE ME GOOD HEALTH CARE, GIVE ME SOCIAL SECURITY THEN YOU CAN TAKE YOUR SUBSIDY AWAY!

Thank you.

Yours faithfully
Sunday Okechukwu John
WebmastersRe: We Present To You, The (voluntarily) Redesigned Nigeria.gov.ng by chalerea(m): 8:00am On Dec 06, 2011
yawa-ti-de:
@chalarea

1) This isn't a template in the sense that we got some code from somewhere and plugged our content.  It is a template (just like google.com is a template) in the sense that one page drives the design for all other pages (in the same way that you are a template of other human beings).

2) As stated earlier.  Though we chose to go after the nigeria.gov.ng site, we were actually showing that what we are doing could work for the individual, an NGO, the government or a corporation.  We only chose to go after what is public property, with maximum exposure.  We could have chosen another site.

3) Since this is a volunteer project, we chose to reuse as much content as possible from the existing site, plus a few "lorem ipsicums".  On an actual project, where we would be paying someone, we would have an actual content developer who would interact with the client to determine what they want on their site and how they want it implemented.

4) Reference a prior post regarding photos

5) If you read the scope document I posted on the parent thread (reference post #1 of this thread for that url), you will see that I went to at least 5 different country websites, combining the good, bad and ugly from all of them.

@nakedall
Agreed.  We could smack on a design that even the UN votes to be #1 but if the citizenry see no use for the site, it becomes useless.  Again, this is where an information architect would come in handy.  If you look at the section before the green footer, you will notice that the middle column and the right column have items which we thought would immediately be of service to a website visitor and/or Nigerian citizen: online services and quick links.  The intention is to make that a global feature on the site.

Also, to the person who mentioned the white person in the video, I agree.  The video, if you click, has to do with Nigeria.  The screenshot however doesn't infer that.  It would definitely be corrected on a live version of the site.

@CashWithPc
Other than organic advertising/marketing (blogs, fora, etc), we have nowhere else to go.  We are hoping that through these media, the necessary pplz attention will be raised.  Having said that, if you or anyone has any contacts at any government level, do pass this along to them.  We would surely appreciate it smiley

Thanks
You are trying to defend what you have done! You shouldn't have made it open for people to review. The truth  is you can't grow like that. What you have done is not good enough. It is not a professional design, it is as simple as that. You requested for feedbacks, you should be able to look into the feedbacks and improve. If you are saying 40 of you guys did the design, well it means that there is a serious problem.

What you have done is in the same class of the old one you are trying to re-design. I will advice you start with a real brief not based on the ugly old website but fresh understanding. You may look for a professional graphics designer to help you with the template graphics and general presentation of content with other factors in mind.
WebmastersRe: We Present To You, The (voluntarily) Redesigned Nigeria.gov.ng by chalerea(m): 9:55pm On Dec 05, 2011
You guys have tried. But you may please read through a professional’s advice.

You will need to define the primary goal of this project which must be clearly readable from your design. As it is, I do not see it to function as an e-Governance Portal but an NGO website.

The home page is focus at what? You have to note that this is not a Goodluck  Jonathan’s website but the website of the Republic. We expect to see more highlights of what is happening in the economy, ministries, law and other governing bodies.

You should also be able to have access to the digital library from the home page. You also need to be able to bring the FG close to the people somehow. You must implement that interactivity; this will make the people to believe in the Republic.

If you want to have a good design you may have to look beyond using a template. You may have to craft the Nigerian Republic design from scratch. The graphics should fit into the unity of Nigeria showing our cultural heritage and values.

You may look at the website for the US White House http://www.whitehouse.gov/ although they have another website that serves as the e-Governance Portal, http://www.usa.gov/. You will notice that the graphic is specially designed to fit in and all content focuses on issues they really did not fit in obama’s picture.
So you may want to re-design this page in graphics, structure and content.
If you have further requests feel free to email me. sundayjohn@gmail.com

Thank you.

We must understand that our economy is not the same. Can you compare 3 Naira to 3 dollars? I think our government should think of how to stop importing fuel to Nigeria. This is a solution that will bring improvement on the economy and will not introduce hardship on the people. LET US THINK! Increasing fuel price will only introduce more hardship, crime, inflation and others.
