What makes some of these countries beautiful is government policies and private partnership drives.
Let's start with housing. Government build houses uniformly and beautifully in an area and sells out to individual. Individual may pay in instalments. Private partnerships do the same as well.
Here in Nigeria, people build houses in free style. Same street you see a high profile building of Tinubu for instance, you will also see the makeshift building of an Okada man.
In overseas estate developers buy land, build houses and sell. Here they only grab land and sell it at exorbitant price and people who buy them decide on what to do on the land. Someone would use his on own as poultry and the other as fish farm and the other as residential area.
Until we begin to see the art in arranging buildings, Nigeria will continue to look like a jungle.
