Mancini and Citeh need effective attacking wing backs - if they have that, Silva can play centrally and be the creative force.

The truth is, a strong defensive foundation is the first element for a successful premiership campaign and once they can sort that out then the attacking side of things can be remedied.

I suspect Mancini will go for a 4-3-1-2 once he knows who best can play with Tevez (probably Balotelli) with Silva creating just behind the front two. If he gets that right, they'll be difficult to score against and may rack up points with 1-0 and 2-0 victories.

Also they rely so much on Tevez for a team that spent that big.
Apart from Tevez, I think the nearest highest goalscorer in the league is on 2 goals (Balotelli). If I was a Citeh fan, I'd be concerned.

He is at United's disposal - meaning he is available for selection since Senegal didn't qualify for the ACN.


And if Senegal wont play in 2010, what about 2012? Or has Fergie assumed they wont qualify as well.

it is Mancini's business how he chooses to play, let his employers be the ones to judge if he's using their acquisitions wisely. At the end of the day the scores was 0-0 isn't that all that matters?

This team has to go and sit down and really tell themselves what they want, there are no more excuses this season. This team is good enough in terms of personel. You can't win the league if the manager has rested players during the week and the team still comes out and play like this.
It is looking very bad when Wilshere starts to look better than Cesc both in terms of urgency, ball retention and passing, early days yet [size=14pt]but it might be better to really go all out for that Carling cup.[/size]
The only good thing (if it can really be considered good) is that the usual culprits (Diaby and Denilson) are not around to carry the can so our usual golden boys can go ahead with some soul searching. Cesc had something akin to a Diaby off day today and MC29 really could do with a little bit more selfishness, Theo (what can I say?) was only being himself, while Fabianski reverted to type (I don't like players who don't learn either from their own mistakes or others).
The only players who covered themselves with any glory today were Wilshere, Nasri and maybe Song, the defence was good and Kos was unlucky with the red.

Dude has probs. Its not SAFs fault. He wasn't stressed as the hamstring pulled the moment he crossed the ball and that would have happened either he played in the reserves, entered 89th minute or he jumped up on the bench celebrating a goal

There is a reason why long term absentees dont start games.
The tempo at the start of games is far too high compared to the latter stages of games.
No one knows what could have happened . . . . but you are taking a bigger risk starting a player that hasnt started for over 2 years.
And Fergie also played him at the right side of midfield rather than a DM position that wouldnt give him mich to do.
Fergie took a big risk and it failed . . . . .simple!
