PoliticsRe: The True Picture Of Nigeria by champredd(m): 5:51pm On Aug 26, 2007
Reason why bad reports against Africa stick on the mind of people is simple. The west controls the international media.

Any report against the west is destroyed by the media and everybody believes in the them. But any negative report about Africa is trumpeted across the world by the same media - double standards par excellence.

Money launderers are not happy with the proposed change because the flow of money/capital in and out of the country will be more monitored.
PoliticsRe: Naira To Be Re-Denominated by champredd(m): 6:31pm On Aug 24, 2007
Seem like those who wish to see the redenomination stopped finally have their way.

No reform is easy, we have to work through it.

I still hope that after Soludo have discussed with the President, the redenomination we still go on.
PoliticsRe: Naira Re-Denomination: Suspended! by champredd(m): 6:18pm On Aug 24, 2007
The Justice Minister made the annoucement, according to Reuters, I expect them to iron out their disagreement in due course.

Yar'Adua may be planning to sideline or remove Soludo, but he have to be careful and not listen to bad advice.

Let's hope that Yar'Adua will not become another Shagari and ruin the numerous economic gains of the recent past.

Let's hope that OBJ have not put another pushover in office.

They have more than enough opportunities to expand in Naija than any other parts of Africa. Capital resources, enough people to form a large customer base, are just two of reasons they can be the best if they have a good management.

Why will HiTV not be an alternative DsTV.

That is how people are belittling Glo when they first started, in the technological-oriented industries, nobody is the master. Or how did google came from behind and completely overshadowed Yahoo

What accounting records need to be changed. It doesn't significantly affect the accounting system, and why would accountants not be happy. It will generate more jobs for up and coming accountants.
PoliticsRe: Naira To Be Re-Denominated by champredd(m): 3:44pm On Aug 23, 2007
I don't see the re denomination as a race between Nigeria and Ghana.
It was pointed out by some people that the Japanese Yen is about Y100 to $1, and they still remain the 2nd largest economy in the world.

My conclusion is that, we can't follow the footsteps of others if we really want to develop. Every nation that is developed today, had at one point in time fashioned there own economic policy based on their peculiar circumstances, that is what CBN is doing now.
