Simple. The VO did not think he satisfied the home ties requirement.

Thank you very much for your response.
Should he reapply immediately since school is resuming in January?

Good day!
My bro(29yrs old) just finished his interview for student visa and was not approved.
He said he was asked if he was married and he said No and they said sorry his visa will not be approved!.
He was meant to resume in January.
Pls what was the issue and what can we do now?
It's so exhausting to get to this stage and be turned back.
Kindly advice what we can do next.
Thank you all in anticipation of your response.

Sounds like a case of chargeback due to the card used to make the visa fee payment.

Did you go through an agent? How was payment of the visa fee done?

If you used an agent or someone else to make payment and have clear documentation on this i.e. emails, chats asking for payment to be made and showing you paying the naira equivalent, I'll suggest maybe including in your webform/email back to them. Due to restrictions in forex amount one can spend by a lot of Nigerian banks in the last few years, a lot of people struggled with making this payment themselves and used agents or friends for this. Downside is one can't be certain if the cards used were not fraudulent or if the people themselves are honest (and not the ones requesting a charge back for this expense).

Goodluck.

I think there is foul play with Canadaian application payment.
A lady just had same issue and she paid the application fee by herself. Never received any refund or cashback but there was a debt claim on her profile.

This is what I sent

Dear VO
My name is ……… , with date of birth…… and passport number ……. , currently residing at…….., Nigeria.

I am writing this appeal with a heavy heart as I find myself caught in an overwhelming state. I wish to appeal the recent rejection of my tourist visa application which I received on the 4th of May 2023 after waiting for over 11 months for a decision.

To begin, let me emphasize that my intentions of visiting Canada are solely for the purpose of visiting my brother who is currently in Canada for the purpose of studies. My stay will be short as I intend to immediately return to my Husband and 8 month old daughter whom will not be traveling with me. (I made sure to add this, to show them that I have strong family ties in Nigeria)

Regrettably, my wish to visit my brother whom I have not seen in over 18 months has been put on hold as my visa application was rejected. I submitted my application with the utmost sincerity, ensuring that every document and requirement was fulfilled to the best of my ability.

My Canada tourist visa refusal letter was received via the IRCC website stating [I am not satisfied that you have truthfully answered all questions in the documents you have submitted in support of your application, as required by subsection 16(1) of the IRPA. Specifically, I am not satisfied that the following information is truthful: Your declared history of previously refused visa application(s) to Canada or any other country]. I have to make an appeal against this justification as I do not have any history of visa rejection which is what I truthfully declared in my application.

I have applied for over 10 visas in the last 15- 20 years and I’ve been to over 20 countries. I have never overstayed in any country. The timeline of all my applications and travels are noted down below, including the reason for travel and duration of stay.

(I went on to list my most recent travels and I attached visas issued by other countries)

Wow, Congratulations. Please can you state the mail address you sent your email to.

Here is the message received.
How can I appeal? This is so unfair since i know nothing about the claim. I have mailed them though but no response yet.

Good day Everyone, my husband and I applied for a tourist visa in March 2020 and June 2023 we received a message to send our passport which we did . Only to get a message yesterday stating that our visa has been denied because there is a devt claim on our application more like our application fee was revoked. We didn't do anything of such . I have mailed the debt claim department asking how that is possible. Has anyone experienced that? How do you solve it.
I will equally like to appeal the decision ( propably repay the fee if they still insist because our passport is already with them.

Hello my great people, pls I need your opinion or any experienced ones..... I'm travelling next month for my second missionary journey and I will be going with my 20months old toddler. Im trying to book our flight on travelstar with delta airline but I'm not allowed to buy him a seat. So here is the question; will delta airline allow me lap him with me at 35weeks gone? And coming back to naija with 2 kids on my lap wont be funny.... pls any suggestions. Thank you.

You can't buy a seat for a 20month old but when you are returning your will buy a seat for the baby which the Toddler will seat on. that was what I did on Emirate in Feb.

18 working days from birth. However I had already gone to their office 3 days earlier to collect it.

I don't understand. U went to SSA office to collect SSN? Well i went day 3weeks after birth and they checked and said no number has been assigned to my baby yet. Already has his passport though.

Good day Chanbaby, so sorry I have mot heard time to get to this forum in the past week. I noticed you have got approval for your baby's VOA Application. That's enough for you to board. Don't bother yourself on the online application for VOA, just make sure you have a printed copy of the approval and a visa card to pay when you land in Naija. There are so many ambiguities in that form that you can easily lose your money paid online. As for me I paid with my Bank of America card when I landed in Lagos so I think you should just do the same and stop botgering yourself with the online application. Note I love doing all my things online if it's more convenient and most of the time it is but ib this case, their instructions alone is enough to keep you off. Congratulations to you that they replied you within 48hrs, in my case I got a reply 2 days to my departure date after over10 days that I applied. Good luck. And congrats on tge arrival of your LO.

Thank u very much .GOD bless you. My mind is now at rest. i have been researching about it since morning with no head way.

Hello mamas. I just returned from my missionary journey in Texas. I'm not settled yet so I won't be able to give details. I want to thank all the contributors on this forum. I learnt a lot from this family and it was a life saver. This is just to drop a few tips. As we know, being truthful at the poe is key. My experience was a breeze as nothing was checked, but it's better to go prepared. Ensure you have received your confirmation email for approved visa on arrival, else, your baby won't be allowed to travel if you are using emirates. If you have the option of not staying with family, please take it especially if not close family. (This varies though) . I wish every one well; those on the journey and those about to join.

pls how did you go about the online payment for Visa on arrival I'm having issues with it.

SOMEBODY PLS HELP ME I HAVE BEEN ASKING. GOD BLESS U.

I am still trying to get a hang on it myself. I've sent an email with the following information

The Comptroller General
Nigeria Immigration Service
Nigeria Immigration Service Head Quarters
Abuja.

APPLICATION FOR VISA ON ARRIVAL

I wish to apply for Visa on Arrival for my infant son. His details are as stated below:

Name:

Passport number:

Address:

Date of Arrival:

Port of Entry:

Airline:

Please find required documents attached: His passport bio, my passport bio, hubby's passport bio, travel itinerary.

I've still not gotten any acknowledgement and this is the 2nd time I've sent this mail. I called and they said I still have plenty time but the lack of mail acknowledgement troubling. Does it take up to 24hrs to get an acknowledgement?

@babestell use this format for your baby's visa on arrival application.

Hello house;
please I have a question; I was told that for me to collect my babies birth certificate I need 2 strong ID’s like passport or national ID or Drivers license if not they won’t give me the birth certificate. How true is that ?

Thank you

which is strong ID again now? Use your international passport. That's what I used for all paper works that required ID.
