There was a massive protest today by women of Oyigbo area of Rivers state after a young graduate identified as Chijioke, a son of the soil, was killed by men in police uniform who shot him dead at close range.

It was gathered that the men in police uniforms thugs killed the victim during collation of the gubernatorial and state house of assembly elections.

The incident happened at the St Paul’s Catholic Church close to Oyigbo market.

According to an eyewitness account, four men in police uniforms invaded the collation centre to snatch ballot boxes but when challenged, shot sporadically killing the handsome man on the spot.

They afterwards fled the scene of the murder in a white unmarked Toyota Hilux van.

On this note, the First Lady of Oyigbo LGA, Mrs. Chinwe Oforji in line with the LGA Vice Chairperson, Hon. Mrs. Charity Ekeke, took to the streets of Oyigbo with the entire women of Oyigbo to demand justice for the death of their son Chijioke.

The Oluwo of Iwo land, Oba AbdulRasheed Adewale Akanbi, was the center of attraction at the Heathrow Airport in England after arriving the British country for an event.

The Osun monarch arrived London for the 6th Commonwealth Summit where he is billed to attend as the keynote speaker.

The monarch had all eyes focused on him and his entourage on arrival at the airport.

The Oluwo was hailed and praised as he walked through the airport to a waiting Rolls Royce car.

A young Nigerian lady would probably be regretting the moment she decided to take hard drugs in order to get high to have sex.

According to Facebook user Ayomide, the incident happened recently in Lagos after the yet-to-be identified lady decided to take drugs (which he didn't specify) before having sex.

It was gathered that the lady slumped moments after the romp, before she was resuscitated after being poured buckets of water.

Meanwhile, internet users have berated the young lady for trying to take hard drugs despite her "light brain". The man who also recorded the incident, was also bashed online for the embarrassing act.

There was commotion early this morning after aggrieved women in Ogu town, Rivers state, prevented army personnel from gaining entrance into the local government Secretariat.

One of the soldiers tried to enter the premises by scaling the fence but was met with stiff resistance from the women who held him after accusing the military men of trying to manipulate the results of the governorship an House of Assembly elections.

Some of the women who stripped off their tops, can be heard shouting 'we no go gree' as they blocked the soldier and his colleagues from entering.

Report has it that scores of passengers were killed in multiple accident which happened on Friday afternoon (today) along Kaduna-Abuja expressway.

It was gathered that the fatal accident was allegedly caused by a truck owned by Dangote truck near the toll gate in Kaduna at the end of Abuja highway.

Many vehicles includes buses were crushed by the Dangote truck.

The corpses of the victims were evacuated by soldiers and sympathizers.

A suspected hoodlum has been gunned down by security operatives following a gun battle.

According to Facebook user Osas John who hails from Rivers state, the hoodlum alleged to be a kidnapper/armed robber - met his Waterloo after allegedly opening fire on security operatives during a raid.

He was shot and died on the spot as his pump action rifle was recovered.

A man has regained his freedom after he was arrested following a robbery incident at his house. It was gathered that the man was attacked in his house by armed robbers in Plateau state.

After the attack, he went to report the incident to the police the following day and his statement was taken.

According to reports, the following day after reporting the armed robbery, policemen from the same station arrested him for armed robbery. He was joined to the other two on the alleged offences of armed robbery, homicide and conspiracy.

On her way to visit her husband at the prison, leaving their only child behind, the man's wife was knocked down by a vehicle and she died.

According to the executive Director/CEO at Legal Access Foundation, Chidi Dimgba, the Foundation represented him and Abiodun was set free. The other two begged for help, as they were innocent of the allegations but did not have the means to secure the services of a lawyer to represent them.

The Foundation extended its services to them -and they were freed as well.

A young man has been gruesomely killed by suspected cultists in Imo state.

The deceased identified as Noah Okorie but popularly known as 'Mentor', said to be a student of Federal Polytechnic Nekede in Owerri, the state capital, was attacked and killed by the rampaging gunmen.

The handsome and popular hairstylist was said to have been shot dead yesterday at Umuerim junction near the school gate.

His corpse was evacuated this morning by the authorities.

The young man's death has left his friends and colleagues heartbroken - with many mourning the loss on social media.

Pictured is the corpse of Abeeb Dauda, a 20-year-old tiler in the Amukoko area of Lagos State, who was allegedly shot dead by a policeman attached to the Amukoko Police Division.

The alleged killer cop, identified simply as Salako, was also said to have shot Abeeb’s wife, Lateefat, in the chest.

It was learnt that Salako and his colleagues had stormed Lasisi Street, Amukoko, where the incident happened around 5pm on Sunday, after they received a distress call about a street fight in the area.

The policemen were said to have announced their presence in the neighbourhood with gunshots, which caused confusion among the residents.

In the ensuing panic, Abeeb, a father of two, reportedly rushed to his wife’s shop on the street to assist in packing her wares into the store.

It was learnt that as the couple were closing the shop, Salako surfaced, took Abeeb for one of the troublemakers and shot at him and his wife.

The bullet reportedly hit Abeeb in the stomach and ripped out his entrails, while his wife was hit in the chest.

A man has taken to social media to show off the big eggs found inside a python after it was killed earlier today.

According to Facebook user Solomom who hails from Bayelsa state, he killed the huge reptile after invading his compound.

After killing the animal, he butchered it to bring out big white eggs from its stomach.

This is coming months after a man single-handedly killed a huge python in Southern Ijaw local government area of Bayelsa State.

A dog has been killed after attacking and biting a pupil to death earlier today in Port-Harcourt, River state.

The unfortunate incident happened along Tessy road in Rumuagholu, off Rumuokoro area in the state capital as the young boy was bitten to death by the rampaging Rottweiler dog.

It was gathered that the security guard at the house where the dog lived, opened the gate for the dog and it ran straight to a primary school (without fence), and attacked a pupil of the school. The dog was said to have also pounced on another child and bit her in the buttocks before an angry policeman shot the dog to death as claimed by Chuks Bune who recorded the incident.

The second victim is receiving treatment at Spring Rose Hospital along Rumuagholu road.

Report has it that the guard of the house where the dog escaped from has been arrested by the police.

A woman is overwhelmed with joy after undergoing a surgery to remove a tumor in her head which she had been carrying for eight years now.

According to the woman, the growth made her feel bad with low esteem as she tried to cover it up with different hairstyles.

Below is what the excited woman said after the successful surgery at Owo in Ondo state.

This is the best day of my life. I have carried this tumour in my head for about 8 years. It makes me feel bad with very low self esteem. All my hairstyles are made to cover this shame. I have been to plenty hospitals to no avail.

Another set of suspected thugs were apprehended yesterday Luton Park Hotel in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state capital.

The men were arrested yesterday in Akwa Ibom state after arriving the state in various buses ahead of the governorship election on Saturday, 09/03/19.

They men including a serving military officer in Ekehuan Barracks Benin City, were brought from Edo State.

Some of the men who claimed innocence said that they came to the state for burial while some claimed they came to attend wedding ceremony. During interrogation by the police, the suspects could not give details of the burial or wedding they came to attend.

Some suspected thugs have been apprehended by police operatives earlier today in Akwa Ibom state.

According to reports, the men were allegedly imported from Edo and Ekiti states, ahead of the governorship election on Saturday, March 9, 2019.

It is alleged that the some of them were dropped at the All Progressives Congress (APC) office along Ikot Ekpene while some were arrested.

When they were questioned, the men allegedly said they came to work for the APC governorship candidate for Akwa Ibom State, Mr. Nsima Ekere. They also disclosed that four buses filled with able-bodied men have already arrived the state capital, Uyo.

The men were forced to lie down on the ground as they were taken into custody by the police for further investigation.
