Despite the fear which the Monkey Pox virus has instilled in some Nigerians especially those in the affected regions such as Bayelsa, Akwa Ibom and Rivers states, a Port-Harcourt based man identified as Vure Kingsley, seems not to be deterred as he killed and cooked some monkeys which he used in preparing pepper soup. According to him, the meal was eaten with a local herbal concoction known as Monkey tail.

There is currently unrest in Yenagoa, Bayelsa following reports that Nigerian soldiers who are on 'Operation Crocodile smile' have arrived schools to inject students around the state with vaccines. Parents and guardians have rushed to their homes after picking up their children/wards from school. Students in other communities such as Gbarain, Agbura, Gbaramatu, were also seen rushing home after the reports broke with some parents saying they don't want free vaccines.

A Popular Nigerian and London-based socialite, Aishat Alubankudi, has been left pained after being labelled a commercial sex worker after sharing an old photo which was taken back in 1998. The Human rights activist and a friend to president Muhammadu Buhari, took to her Facebook page to reveal her dismay and also blast the person responsible for the derogatory word.. Read below;

A Nigerian lady identified as Ochia Chukwudi Onyinye, has shared her story to inspire other ladies about choosing their life partners. According to the lady who recently celebrated 2 years marriage anniversary with husband, when she got to his (husband) house for the first time, she was shocked to see an absolute empty apartment but she still got married to him because she saw a brighter future in him.

A pastor in Ekiti state has been accused of causing injuries to a woman's private part after conducting a "special type" of deliverance for her after collecting N50,000 from her. The woman who is suffering from wounds in her private region - claimed it happened after the pastor inserted some substances there during deliverance for fertility.

She revealed this in an interview conducted by a journalist, Omo Edema of Voice 89.9FM, Ado-Ekiti.... Read below;

“I live in Lagos. One day, my younger brother called me that there was a prophecy from his Prophet, Prophet Oni Olakanye of CAC Palace of Mercy, Mathew, Olokuta, Ado-Ekiti, that I would need to come down to Ado-Ekiti for prayers concerning my infertility. I have married since 2011, but no child. So I discussed the issue with my husband and he allowed me travel to visit the prophet.

“When I got to the prophet a few days later, he first prayed with me at the church reception. He subsequently called me down into one of the rooms in the mission house where he placed a mirror under my private part—the exercise he called inspection, and later poured some liquid substance in my private part and fingered it in by himself. He therefore took me to bathroom where I bathed on a mortar with a black soap and native sponge while he stood in with me…

“He therefore demanded for N50,000 which I gave to him on the same day.

“Lastly, he gave me a ball-shaped substance to insert into my private part in the bedtime when I get home. I did according to his instructions. However, since then, my private part has been badly affected with wounds without cure yet…” These were the allegations of Mrs. Omowale against Prophet Oni Olakanye of CAC Palace of Mercy, Mathew, Olokuta, Ado-Ekiti.

“I know her, but not all her allegations against me were true. I collected N50,000 to work for her and to ensure she has child in life. The substance I gave her to insert into her private part; she didn’t use it according to my instruction…” The prophet, Oni Olakanye responded.

Super Eagles squad engaged in a team walk on the streets of Uyo, Akwa Ibom state capital ahead of their crucial 2018 world cup qualifying game with Zambia. The players and the coaching crew also held some "pep" talk during the team's workout this morning.

With three points separating the two arch rivals, with the Super Eagles topping Group B with 10 points and closely followed by the Chipolopolo with 7 points; the Zambians believe that they can close the gap.

Even though the Super Eagles have all, but qualified for the 2018 World Cup, they must affirm their qualification by beating the Chipolopolo in Uyo; before the final qualifying match against the Desert Foxes of Algeria.

The Super Eagles on Thursday trained at the training pitch of the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.The Nigeria football team is preparing to face the Chipolopolo of Zambia on Saturday in Uyo in an all-important 2018 FIFA World Cup qualifier.

According to the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), it was a full house as the Super Eagles had their second open training session in the rain on Wednesday evening.

A young man identified as Anayo Isaac Ugwuaba is filled with thanks and appreciation after undergoing a successful tumor surgery in Dubai. Isaac, who hails from Obollo Eke in Udenu local government area, is a graduate of biochemistry from the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT).

The young man was diagnosed with ameloblastoma in 2009 ( the same year he graduated from the university), a rare kind of growth or tumor that starts on the jaw near the wisdom tooth or molar with an increased swelling that can be damaging to the brain. It takes the form of acne.

After soliciting for funds from well meaning Nigerians, the young reportedly underwent a successful operation by a plastic surgeon at the NMC Specialist Hospital at Dubai Investment Park, Dubai although he's still yet to be discharged.

During senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso's trip to Lagos from Abuja, he was surprised to have met the pilot who was one of the young students sponsored by his administration to train in Jordan. The senator who was on board Azman Air posed for a selfie with Capt Mahi Sumaila of Azman Air.

The young pilot was among the 100 pilots sponsored by Kwankwaso's administration in Kano State.

A Cameroonian soldier sent to fight Boko Haram killed his boss, a senior commander in the Cameroonian army before killing himself, according to multiple reports. The head of army Battalion in Bonderi, Mora in the far north region, Captain Ayisi Tsanga was gruesomely murdered by the junior soldier on Wednesday afternoon.

According to information gathered from Cameroon media, the commander had driven the solider to the brigade in Mora to jail him when the latter got a weapon and shot his boss before killing himself.

The reason for which the soldier was being taken to the cell is still unknown as at the time of filing this report.

Governor Nyesom Wike was seen cherishing the beautiful views of Port-Harcourt city, Rivers state capital on his return from Bayelsa State, where he had gone on a private strategic visit to governor Seriake Dickson to strengthen the bonds between the two sister States.

Governor Wike was accompanied on the visit by Prince Uche Secondus, former Acting National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party.

Some passengers were killed instantly after a reckless lorry driver knocked off a barrier while trying to access a bridge in Kaduna state. The knocked off barrier dropped and destroyed the blue vehicle with its occupants, which was passing beneath the bridge. Six people were confirmed dead at the scene including a woman who was on her way to sit for exam. One person critically ill was taken to hospital.

This ghastly accident happened on Monday,18/9/2017, at the flyover bridge in Kawo Kaduna. Ms Rabi Adam (in yellow dress lying dead on the road and in passport size photograph), was a student of the National Open University. She was on her way to sit for exam at Rigachukun, when she lost her life.

The yellow stripped barrier pole shown in the attached pictures was erected by Kaduna state government to stop lorries and heavy goods vehicles plying over the flyover bridge at Kawo. One reckless lorry driver decided to ignore traffic warning sign and attempted to access the bridge, thereby knocking the barrier off. It then dropped and destroyed the blue vehicle with its occupants, which was passing beneath the bridge. Six people confirmed dead at the scene. One person critically ill was taken to hospital.

Meanwhile, because of the delay in arrival of police and emergency services at the scene, thieves stole the wallet and mobile phone of late Ms Rabi Adam. They had the audacity to use the stolen phone to call her parents and tell them that their daughter had died in a ghastly accident.

CUPS investigator, who spoke with Ms Rabi's colleague, learnt that this is the third time that the same type of incidence happened at the same spot, taking innocent lives. The root cause of the problem is the bad engineering of the barrier pole. The money allocated to erect a foolproof barrier has been siphoned off. This makeshift barrier pole is poorly soldered. It is not fit for purpose. Each time it is hit by reckless drivers, the poor soldering gives way. The barrier pole then drops and causes fatalities.

Unless somebody in charge of roads at Kaduna state looks into this disgraceful and criminal negligence, our people will keep losing their lives at the Kawo flyover bridge. May the souls of the deceased rest in peace. Amen.

The former President of Nigeria and one of the founders of the Peoples Democratic Party, Ibrahim Badamasi Babangida, IBB, has thrown his weight behind the former Governor of Ogun State, Otunba (Engr.) Gbenga Daniel (OGD) in his bid to become the National Chairman of the party describing him as the 'breathe of fresh air'.

IBB made this declaration at his Hilltop residence in Minna, Niger state on Wednesday when OGD alongside his powerful delegation paid him a visit in furtherance to his nationwide consultation.

Speaking during the visit, Daniel said he had come to confer with the former President on his ambition, noting that no serious politician in the country would embark on such an important national task without seeking the wisdom and blessing of the former President.

Responding, President Babangida said he was quite elated when he learnt that Otunba Gbenga Daniel was interested in offering his service to the country.

He said: "I was elated when I first heard that you were interested in volunteering yourself for this great service to our country, you represent the breadth of fresh air that the Party deserves at this stage.

"I know OGD very well and I know his unparalleled capacity for work. I have a strong conviction that with OGD as chairman, the Party can be turned around again.

"I am supporting you because I know you very well. OGD, you're my Chairman in waiting"

Gen. Babangida thereafter hosted the delegation to a private meeting.
