It was a very emotional moment for Kaduna state governor Nasir El Rufai who couldn’t hold back tears upon meeting little Sadiq Usman whose eyes were gouged out by ritualists in Zaria last year.

Little Sadiq who was at the commissioning of the Yahaya Hamza primary School in Zaria, which was refurbished by telecommunications giant, Airtel is being trained by staff of Airtel under Staff Volunteer Scheme.

He has been enrolled at the Ango Abdullahi International School where Airtel provided special equipment for his training.Governor El Rufai who was moved by the sight of the little Sadiq brought out a handkerchief to wipe his tears as he held the little boy on his laps.

Traditionalists, members of the Ibadan War Lords families and family heads in Ibadan have decried the shooting at the palace of Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba SaliuAdetunji, describing the incident as unfortunate and regrettable. They bared their minds during a meeting with the Governor of Oyo State, Senator Abiola Ajimobi, at the House of Chiefs, Secretariat, Ibadan, on Tuesday.

Among those at the meeting were the Afobaje Labosinde of Ibadanland, Chief Wahab Popoola; Aboke of Ibadanland, Chief Ifasola Ifamapowa; Olori Alagba of Ibadanland, (head of the Masquerades) Chief Ojetunde Akinleye; and Oluwo of Ibadan.

Also at the meeting were scores of family heads, including those of Ibikunle, Latoosa, Opeagbe and Ogunmola; war lord families; members of the Council of Recognised Mogajis, led by the Chairman, Chief Asimiyu Adepoju (Mogaji Ariori family).

Speaking at the occasion, the Aboke of Ibadanland invoked the spirit of the ancestors to deal with any individual or group threatening the peace and working against the progress of Ibadanland and Oyo State in general.

He said that the Olubadan chieftaincy review had elevated the profile of the Olubadan as well as Ibadan city, adding that the development had promoted the stool of the Olubadan to the elite status of imperial majesties during their lifetime.

On his part, the Afobaje Labosinde noted that the step taken by the governor on the chieftaincy matter was not meant to desecrate the throne of Olubadan, but rather to ensure speedy development and progress of the traditional institution in Ibadanland.

He therefore appealed to the Olubadan not to allow disgruntled politicians to hide under him to cause the breach of security of the land, emphasizing that any action that could lower the esteem of the throne of Olubadan should be avoided.

Responding, the governor expressed appreciation to the groups for their understanding of his administration's altruistic intent towards Ibadan and the rest of the state, especially with the Olubadan chieftaincy laws’ review.

Ajimobi said he would not do anything to disrespect the tradition institution in any part of the state, noting that he would do all within his powers to accord the hallowed palaces of the monarchs the respect and dignity they deserve.

This man simply identified as Mammadu who is believed to be a farmer - died after collapsing in Jada Market, Adamawa State. The man who is a member of a local community in Wuro Hamagu in southern Mubi region - passed away before he could be rushed to the hospital by shocked traders and passersby. May his soul rest in peace.

Men of the Special Anti Robbery Squad (SARS) of the Nigeria Police, Rivers State Command have dismantled a blockade and neutralized some armed men suspected to be kidnappers along the East/West road earlier today in Rivers State. According to Awala Uwuma, the gunmen were killed during shoot-out with the security operatives.

A Nigerian socialite named Ifeoma Loveth Nwalie has passed away in Moscow, Russia...According to people who know her, the woman was quite active in Nigerian activities in the European country before her sudden death last Wednesday. According to Chukwunonso Emmanuel who lives in Russia, other Nigerians based in Moscow are set to hold a meeting to discuss arrangements and raise funds to send her corpse to Nigeria.

The Anti-Robbery Team of the Okehi Division in Rivers state arrested Emeka Nwala ‘m’ 25yrs and Otamasiri Onyesu ‘m’ 19yrs. They are alleged to have kidnapped the paramount Ruler of Umuechem who was kidnapped and held hostage for several days.

Their arrest was facilitated by the civil society group who assisted the Police tremendously. They are helping the Police and will be charged to Court soonest.

Men of the Anti- Cultism Unit (ACU) in a covert operation arrested one Lucky Mark Aminikpo, a notorious cultist who has confessed to have carried out several cult activities in Ahoada and its environs including burning four houses and killing the following persons namely; Highman Lucky ‘m’, Bobo ‘m’, Wisdom ‘m’, and Daniel ‘m’, he confessed to have beheaded Highman. He is a member of Dey-Gbam cult group. He is helping the Police and will be due in court soonest.

Also the Anti-cultism Unit in another Operation arrested one Lekia Deemua ‘m’ from Okwali Community in Khana LGA. The suspect who is a notorious cultist confessed to have burnt three houses, killing about 30 persons of a rival cult group in Okwali community among other criminal activities carried out by his cult group. He is helping the Police, as efforts are on to arrest members of his cult group.

Again, operatives of the Anti-Cultism Unit acting on a credible intelligence arrested the duo of Destiny Vincent ‘m’ and Blessing Isaac ‘m’ who are confessed members of Dey-Well cult group and the criminal gang terrorizing Ubio/Abarikpo Community in Ahoada Local Government Area.

The duo were arrested at Tombia Street, GRA Port Harcourt. And on interrogation have confessed to belonging to Dey-well, whose recent activities led to the burning of houses at Abarikpo in Ahoada West Local Government Area and also responsible for the kidnap of their paramount Ruler. In another covert operation, men of the Anti-Cultism Unit on 9/9/2017 arrested Chris Jerry ‘m’, Lawrence Promise ‘m’, Stanley Nduka ‘m’ alias Star Boy ‘m’, Joy David ‘f’ and Ebikeme Eric ‘f’.

The suspects were arrested at Chokocho in Etche Local Government Area and have confessed to belonging to a gang of armed robbers, terrorizing Etche and its environs, one of their victims was a man whose Honda Pilot was robbed and sold for N500,000.00. Items recovered from them includes one cut to size locally made single Barrel gun with live cartridges. They are being questioned and will be arraigned in Court very soon.

The Bayelsa Magistrate Court has sentenced one Godbless Ogiode to jail for 8 years for unlawful series of sexual intercourse with a 4 year-old girl and unlawful carnal knowledge of a 5 year-old boy (Sodomy). The man has already been remanded in Okaka Prisons in Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.

‎A young man identified as Olughu Ogbonnia Oko‎ has revealed how he was saved from an industrial hazard which happened to him some months back at his place of work in Onitsha, Anambra state. According to him, he was mixing a chemical with steam water before an explosion which got him occurred. Read his testimony below as shared on Facebook;

My testimony. I thank God for delivering me from this industrial hazard that happened to me at my place of work, God really saved me. It happened on 28/ July /2017,at a company I work with in onitsha. A chemical (costic soda ),we are using for work, I when I was mixing with steamed water, it over reacted and blowed off ,on my attempt to escape it got me.

It was terrible, my back got burned. I was admitted to a hospital where I was receiving treatment for over one month. But in all God was there for me, His Grace was and is sufficient for me . Join me my beloved brethren of Igboist to Thank God for He has done marvellously to me, All glory, honour and adoration be unto Him, In Jesus Name, Amen.

The immediate past Benue PDP Social Media Coordinator and active PDP member; Indigenous Prince Isaka, was attacked by hired political thugs who ambushed him earlier today at Okiki Hotel in Makurdi, Benue state capital.
