A married man was beaten black and blue after he was allegedly nabbed stealing a tricycle popularly known as 'Keke Napep' in Umuahia, Abia state capital. Angry residents who caught him during the failed operation - decided to mete out their own form of punishment by beating him mercilessly before handing him over to security operatives.

Sequel to the mandate of Governor Akinwunmi Ambode on the removal of illegal structures across the State most especially the ones under high tension cables and with the directives of the Commissioner of Police, Acting CP EDGAL IMOHIMI for the Lagos State Task Force to get rid of all criminal hideouts, the Agency over the weekend embarked on demolition of criminal hideouts and illegal structures/containers in Ijaiye, Ojokoro and Bode Thomas area of Surulere where a 'Dane-gun' and wraps of illicit drugs were recovered.

SP Olayinka Egbeyemi, Chairman of the Lagos State Task Force who led the demolition exercise disclosed that well over 2500 illegal structures and containers were demolished with the recovery of a 'Dane-gun' from the Bode Thomas, Surulere wing of the operations and wraps of substances suspected to be indian hemp also recovered from Powerline Street at Ijaiye under Ojokoro Local Government.

SP Egbeyemi stated further that these demolished illegal structures and containers constructed under these high tension cables was an eye sore with miscreants and hoodlums freely smoking indian hemp including prostitution by under age boys and girls around the area.

SP Egbeyemi confirmed further that wraps of substances suspected to be indian hemp and other outlawed drugs such as 'Tramadol-200 Super', Tramadol Capsules RG11' and 'Analgin Injection 500mg' were recovered from a dreadful notorious cult group called "Adura Boys' who have been terrorising Powerline Street and other suburbs of Ijaiye in Ojokoro.

He stated that members of this dreadful notorious cult group 'Adura Boys' robbed innocent citizens of their money including other valuable items such as phones, wallets and jewelleries.

The Chairman advised landlords, CDAs, traditional rulers and other relevant stakeholders to stop allocating lands indiscriminately and collecting money from innocent citizens in order to erect illegal shanties/structures under high tension cables as anyone caught would be arrested and charge to court.

The Federal Road Safety Corps, FRSC has been accused of abandoning a woman after causing her car to somersault during a highway chase in Abuja. According to Omolola Oladimeji, the FRSC officials left the top radio presenter, Matilda Duncan trapped in her car without any help after the ghastly accident.

The On Air Personality (OAP) - was rescued by other motorists and passersby who rushed her to the hospital.

Omolola Oladimeji, the woman's co-worker and an eyewitness took to Facebook and wrote;

I met her on the ground . Matilda Duncan. Her jeep somersaulted. She was chased by FRSC. And when they saw her car somersaulting, they absconded. Leaving her trapped in the car. They left her to die....Thank God for good people who came to her rescue. This is what they do all the time. She is my Staff. Shes an On air Personality left to die because they knew what they did was wrong.I will not keep quiet... No I will not keep quiet.

A Nigerian man was beaten to pulp and arrested for allegedly killing another Nigerian man's wife in Brazil over unpaid debt. According to Eze King Fortune, the suspect who is a Yoruba man stormed the home of an Igbo man to collect about 3000 ‎Reais (1000 dollars i.e over N360,000) he was being owed. But he couldn't find his debtor at home because he reportedly went to pick up his kids from school.

Rather than wait for him, the man allegedly shot his debtor's wife three times - killing her instantly.

The suspect was beaten and also apprehended by fellow Nigerians and residents before authorities arrived the scene.

Operatives of the Rapid Response Squad on Tuesday arrested one Emeka Anthony Uche for pretending to be deaf and dumb in order to steal from unsuspecting victims. According to reports, Uche’s expertise was to sneak into peoples’ offices, steal laptops, mobile phones and other valuables.

He was arrested yesterday after one of his escapades.

CCTV footage of his exploits have been compiled by the police for him to be arraigned in court.

Rivers State Governor, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike met with Florentino Pérez, Real Madrid President at the Santiago Bernabeu on Tuesday night to finalise the setting up of a Real Madrid Affiliated Football Academy in Rivers State.

The governor also met with the leadership of the Real Madrid Foundation as part of the requirements to establish a Real Madrid Affiliated Football Academy in the state.

Officials of the Real Madrid Foundation were led Managing Director, Julio Gonzalez and International Area Manager, Rosa Roncal Gimenez.

The Rivers State Commissioner of Sports, Mr Boma Iyaye was also present at the meeting.

The meeting which held behind closed doors at the Real Madrid Foundation Office at the Santiago Bernabéu witnessed both parties concluding discussions on the areas of partnership.

This is so sad. A final year student of Delta state university (DELSU) , Isoken Kristal Bright, has passed away leaving her family and friends in sorrow. The 23-year-old student whose mother is a top nurse at Sapele General Hospital, Delta state - died after experiencing severe menstrual pain which made her to lose excess blood, according to multiple online reports.

She gave up the ghost before she was rushed to University of Benin Teaching Hospital (UBTH) in Edo state. May her soul rest in peace.

According to multiple online reports, eighty-seven-year-old Sen. Cyrus Nunieh, a second republic lawmaker and President of Bori State Movement, got married in style to his lovely heartthrob, Miss Ijeoma in Rivers state earlier today. Cyrus Nunieh, is said to be the first lawyer in Ogoni land.

The wedding reception is ongoing at the Hotel Presidential in Port-Harcourt, Rivers state capital.

South African President; Jacob Zuma, who is Imo state for a 2-day visit - was full of surprises as he received a live portrait painting of his image (dressed in Igbo attire) from the National speaker of Youth Assembly of Nigeria (YAN); Rt.Hon. Samuel Godstime Chukwubuikem who made the painting within 1 hour 26mins at the Heroes Villa, Ikemba Ojukwu centre, Owerri.

According to reports, Rt.Hon. Godstime told Jacob Zuma that Imo youths and indeed Nigerian youths are very creative and industrious with a supportive Governor; Rochas Okorocha.

Gov. Rochas Okorocha who was overjoyed by the creative work of art created by Artist Godstime couldn't hide his quantum of joy as he expressed how happy he was said: " My political son; Godstime, You are in no doubt Imo State Youths Ambassador, I am so proud of you".

The south African ambassador to Nigeria was immediately directed by President Jacob Zuma to effect Rt.Hon. Godstime's visit to south Africa for some engagements.

The Life-size social robot named Sophia which was created by Hanson Robotics Limited, interacted intelligently with the United Nations Deputy Secretary-General Amina J. Mohammed and other functionaries at the UN General Assembly Second Committee and the United Nations Economic and Social Council joint meeting on "The future of everything – sustainable development in the age of rapid technological change”.

The female robot answered brilliantly when quizzed about the future for robots in the society among other questions.
